At first I didn't know what you meant when you said you were going to use your flash to 'overpower the sun' then I saw the results...and that is legit!
I am very interested in this style of shot. I am currently shopping for some lights (considering Alienbee 800 or 1600 as well as Vagabond II) would you please recommend which would be better to get in order to underexpose the sun at even earlier times in the afternoon? what if I wanted to underexpose the sun and sky at a much brighter part of the day, say noon? would I even be able to do this or would I need a camera capable of a higher sync speed than 1/250? Please help, this is important to me
@wondnaereh well, on larger studio flashes, the sync speed is much slower than speedlights. you might have to sync at 1/60 or 1/30. but that wont underexpose your sun, so you will probaly have to lower your iso, max out your aperature, and maby use some neutral density filters.
Hey can i ask how you found the fastest sync speed of 1/125? i looked up on gadget infinity those wireless flash kit... and the only speed i see is Highest responding time is 1/1000s. where did you get the 1/125?
