This is my opinion on this subject. As with any religion we are not suppose to lie. I do believe true Muslims will not lie to you, and it is the extremists that are causing the problems. Before the jihad took over in the Muslim countries they were the same as us. Now there countries are pretty much destroyed because of the Jihad. If we get rid of all extremists there could be peace between all religions.

hmm very nice explanation....me, for as far as I can speak of this, tend to disagree a bit. it may be that the word kill or slay or fight has been mistranslated and/or that is has been taken out of context. However it doesn't change the fact (I consider it a fact as the tone remains agressive) that the Qur'an is intolerant towards unbelievers (Christians Jews). There are over 100 references I know of who preach intolerance towards unbelievers. Search on Google: hatred towards infidels in Quran.

One of the things that I didn't understand about Islam is the order to kill non muslims in quran in chapter 9. But I found this verse 2:190 “Fight in the way of Allah those who FIGHT YOU but DO NOT TRANSGRESS. Indeed. Allah DOES NOT LIKE transgressors”. Basically God of Islam does not like transgressors how come that he changed his mind about transgressors and he just started to like transgressors in chapter 9! I was wrong, your religion actually does not give an order to kill.

In the earlier Meccan verses of the Quan it is supposed to be in self defense Muhammad later on used this term against the Quraysh although, in fact, it was he who was the initiator of all acts of war against his tribe. Jihad became in reality not self defense but 'sanctified' excuse for aggression. Arab and Muhammadan histories clearly confirm this. The main drive being greed and power.

I have already said that it all depends on what the preacher wants to transmit to his people, he can interpret the Koran and the other books "correctly" however he wants, its all an art of picking the right versus.
Its not me that needs convincing, its the Muslims themselves that need to choose.
In the end nearly 50% live in countries with the death sentence for apostasy, and most others can face consequences.

The sense of the word is applicable to the word 'Muhammed" in arabic.
