I will never vote for Hillary for the office of figuring out how, in 30 seconds, to run a cappuccino machine. Clearly, she's not qualified for that job.
However, as this has nothing to do with being president...
Hillary claims to have 35 years of experience. What "experience" did she have at 25 years old that would qualify her to be President?? She's 60 now, so 35 years of experience would make her 25! And we're supposed to count her years of "experience" as the First Lady of Arkansas and First Lady of the U.S. as "experience" to be President? That's ridiculous!! She lied about Bosnia, NAFTA, Ireland, Peter Paul, and many other things, we can't trust her! She is not ethical enough to be President!
We have to face the truth....Hellary Clinton is an extremely negative force and her ClintonMITES are obviously clueless to her potential harm that she would bring to any platform. She's a hateful LIAR and would do ANYTHING to become president which we ALL know is impossible. We have to stay strong and vote for the incredible man who can guide our country to a more unified and safe place.
I like how she tries in vain to find some indicator of what to do to get the damn thing to work. In her favor, she is not too proud to avoid looking dumb, lol.
if that would not have happen to me a couple weeks ago i would have said something like what a "dumb bitch" but those things are so freaking complicated i pushed the wrong button and coffee was everywhere.
Feminism is about women demanding the same rights as men while chivalry is about manners, the way men are supposed to treat women.
Feminism doesn't replace chivalry, but rather expands its definition. That means, for example, that men should not only help a woman with the coffee machine if she's having trouble, but also support her right to earn the same living wage as a man.
Feminism doesn't excuse men from being courteous to women.
Feminism is about getting rid of societal norms and expectations between men and women. If you are going to strip women of a given societal norm, it goes without saying that you could jeopardize other norms expected of men from the other direction as well.
Good point, ChampionofLiberty, and I appreciate your thoughtful answer.
I would refine your definition of feminism with regards to which societal norms would be put in jeopardy. Not all norms are targeted by feminism, just those which denigrate women (thus the reason for the movement in the first place). Sexual equality is acheived when men give up their role as women oppressors so that women are no longer victims of such oppression. Beyond that, nothing more is asked of either party.
That's why I think chivalry is very much a part of feminism.
While not a substitute for sexual equality, chivalry has always functioned as a way for men to learn to respect women for their natural roles as lifegivers.
I don't see why men would cease to pay such respects, much less women willingly giving up their right to it, just because women were pursuing equality. As long as women are the only ones who give birth, that difference will always keep chivalry a male responsibility.
she's having trouble with a coffe machine, people. let's not overanalyze and get defensive over an awkward moment. it's slightly humorous. let's chuckle (or not) and move on
it not that she does not know what she is doing. she is doing what I do I press the button to start it but while it is running I remove my cup untill the liquid is running muddy. LESS WATER. more coffee.
Well, it's not really the same kind of coffee maker she has at home. Her coffee maker is a chef named Raoul, who makes a mocha latte espresso thingy that is just to die for.
Okay I haven't been able to use stuff like this and I'm not privileged or retarded?? I rather have a president like Hillary than a person that's all for the black agenda, he is fake; I would not turn and denounce my faith like he has. I'm a Catholic Mexican that can vote.. o-o a growing voting block... McCain is going to win anyways we are not ready for this shit.... ???
gerice: If you're a Catholic Mexican, it makes much more sense to vote for Obama (unless you're a very rich Catholic Mexican). Hillary Rodham Clinton was jolted Thursday by the defection of one of her longtime superdelegate supporters, a former national party chairman who urged fellow Democrats to "reject the old negative politics" and unify behind Barack Obama. "A vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote to continue" a long, self-destructive Democratic campaign, Joe Andrew!!!
The writing is on EVERY wall!!! Pull OUT of the race you MONSTER DESTROYER HELLARY!!!!
chuch: Jeez, why don't you think it was funny? She wouldn't really wipe out a foreign country because she got confused about what button to push - that's silly! Or wait, you're thinking she really MIGHT get confused and kill everyone in Italy?? Or wait, you're a Hillary supporter and believe this video is sort of unfair? Because why would we expect her to be able to make or get her own coffee?
That comment at best brings the faintest of smiles to the corner of your lips, which quickly disappears. Sorry but I have a rather sophisticated sense of humour, I also think that Jay Leno, Dane Cook, Conan O' Brein et all aren't funnt either.
chuchu: Lots of humor is not meant to be sophisticated, its essence is playfulness - being childlike is part of the fun. The idea that Hillary's confusion about a coffee machine would translate to confusion over how to operate a missile launcher is a silly one - that's what makes it funny. What's wrong with a faint smile? Isn't there value to faint-smile-inducing humor? Jeez, for some reason I'm wanting to ply you with booze, and then tickle you just to see if I could invoke some giggling. Jeez.
chuc: Hey, maybe an uptight party-pooper? A failure to be silly is associated with a "realistic" view of life. Looking more closely, we note that "depressive realism" is the effect of cynicism, misanthropism, and in your case, a hard-bitten curmudgeonly approach to everyday life. A silly and unrealistic approach to life is correlated with enhanced psychological well-being and even better physical health. Being silly is adaptive! Don't be a straight-face - giggle uncontrollably !!
Your post made me giggle because of all the "English" you used. Anyway, I'm a pessimist but You'll find me doing all sorts of silly stuff. Assclowning to be precise. But sadly no form of American humour has ever entertained me, although Americans themselves are quite amusing because they are really, really dumb (fact). An example is right up there. ^
chuchu: Glad to hear I gave you a giggle, yippee!! Your "humour" with the "ou" makes me think you're British. So if you are, isn't this a matter of cultural differences? Americans have recently celebrated their dumbness in a number of movies. So have you ever seen John Cleese's "Minister of Funny Walks" bit in an old Monty Python episode? It's extremely silly but riotously funny - at least I think so.
I'm Pakistani, actually, but we get taught British English here. Therefore I've never seen Monty Python, but Rowan Atkinson, if you know him, is my outright favourite comedian. Search for "Rowan Atkinson In Hell" and then compare it with Dane Cook or something, you'll see what I mean.
chu: I just watched rowan atkinson in Hell, which is very funny, but then I think rowan atkinson amazing jesus is even funnier. But you absolutely must rent Monty Python and the Holy Grail to see if you think it's funny. Omg, wait, here's the ministry of silly walks on youtube: watch?v=oYlzTdSZeI4 This is the true litmus test - will we agree, I wonder? I'm not a fan of Dane Cook at all.
Streaming as we speak. but I think the vast majority of Americans absolutely adore Dane Cook. His content is crap, his only saving grace is the way he says his stuff.
chuchu: Well, do you like rowan atkinson as mr. bean?? I absolutely love the ministry of silly walks, I must say, but I liked amazing jesus a bunch. I think Dane Cook is a different kind of humorous presentation. More like storytelling, whereas Atkinson is more like sketch comedy. Or so I deconstruct it. Feel free to laugh at my deconstruction, if you must, lol!!
Yeah he's good as Mr. Bean but it IS kind of silly too. I just love the way he performs all his actions. Also, define: sketch comedy and deconstruction.
chuchu: Lots of sketch comedy is done with more than one person. But the idea is that the comedian is "in character," or playing a character. As in Atkinson doing amazing jesus. Whereas in regular standup comedy (Dane Cook) the comic is just himself talking to the audience, saying "don't you hate it when people fart in the elevator" or something. Deconstruct means sort of analyze, kind of "unpackage" so as to look at the elements of what is going on with something.
Okay, I didn't find Amazing Jesus quite as funny because I'm not Christian. Also, you should totally watch /watch?v=ihfieZBWT_E and Also what are ou doing up at 4am or so?
chuchu: That one you gave the link to is quite funny. Sometimes I can't sleep, so I just stay up looking at youtube videos until finaly I get so tired I collapse on this air mattress I keep here at school.
Let's see... I'll try this button... no... this button... no... ok back to the first button... come on coffee, come on, the voters are watching, why didn't I get a strategist to to do this for me! You're all fired!!!!
That's not the finger I want on the proverbial button. She can't even command an automatic coffee dispenser. We should just make the three candidates race to see who can get coffee out of there the fastest, and give the job to the winner.
That wouldn't be fair, since Obama would be at the counter asking the pimply-faced attendant for a pack of Salem Ultra lights. McCain would win in a landslide after commanding the machine to pour forth coffee. Nader would wait until the coffee came out and sue the manufacturer for making it too hot, accusing corporate America of intentionally making products designed to harm Americans.
so now Senator Clinton is one of us...she now knows the feeling of that morning coffee craving only excaberated by the damn coffee machine not working when you need your coffee and you're 15 minutes late for work!
Apparently Obama should get the coffee! (let's see how many informed youtubers get this joke).
