Acid never clicked with me but I guess that I never came to use it that much,on the other side I have always loved Sound Forge, it is the first sound editor I found that did things right and changed my way of working forever, finally I could make precise edits in much less time than with hardware and i could undo and restore in seconds, and I swore by analog technology at the time but the advantages where amazing, editing a loop or song took me seconds and I had only an average computer, pure win
The part talking about a 14 year picking up this software resonates with me. sonic foundries acid software got me into music 11 years ago, when i was 13, here i am today still making music, but have since moved on to much different means of production (analog outboard and such), but still appreciate to this day what acid taught me, which was arrangement. Great product and innovation Sonic Foundry! Most modern software owes something to Acid in one way or another, esp looping functions.
@jamesarongray the only bit that isn't true is the bit with Chris' grandma (she was an actress). The rest is all true. Keep in mind that this was 1998 before FL Studio and Ableton Live.
To this day i still use acid 2.0 i make all my beats in it.I sample into it record keyboards into it midi with and and everything else it does ive done.I use it like you would use a mpc or any other drum machine.Acid though i can sequence much much faster in.It does things a druj machine cant too so its the best in my mind and ive used everything thats out.
Funny video, and informative about ACID and Sonic Foundry....this is where I totally got started in music creation and they have a special place in my heart. It is weird thinking it was back in 1998....man, time flies when you're having tons of fun making music.....Thanks for posting this.

love the program, but AcidPlanet dotcom needs to be restored to what it was before SONY took over management.

Very nice! We 're big Acid users here - it's a very easy-handling sequencer, non-intimitating, fast & easy like a super 4-track tape recorder:D
