The microkorg can only hold 176 patches, and there are already that many patches when it ships from the factory. You'll have to overwrite another patch you don't care for
Yes to both questions actually. It is permanent, and this is in the global settings. To my knowledge it is not possible to turn on write protection for individual patches.
well, I had to go in through "global mst tune" as well, but found it there alright. Big thanks to Fascantron for this clip that helped me where the owners manual and various forum-threads were all greek to me...
@FASCANTRON Thanks! I figured that out, so I "Removed" my comment, but like youtube's new flash layout, it really unrealiable so it dident remove it lol.
thanks, for some reason i kept skipping past that option without seeing it. helpful vid

One last question (whilst I'm here :P), can you add new patches to the MicroKORG XL or can you only edit the pre-built ones?
I was planning on using the Editor on my computer to copy an existing patch, then alter it and save it as a new one, then sync it to the XL.

Is this a permanent change, or does it need to be changed in the Global settings to be permanent?

@tangofizz77
turn the second knob until you find it, global is the category, and the second knob will go through the folder.
