  • how long have you been practicing?

  • With a lot of practice, I aspire to someday be half as good as you.

  • sick man i like fire poi better and i do fire poi but its still wicked, good work

  • sick MAN< IM STILL TRYING TO LEARN!!!!!!!! ;D

  • size of staff really depends on you and wat u want, a buddy of mine makes staffs and u can use about any size u want like my staff compared to this guys is a huge difference but i also cant do many of the tricks he can do because of that

  • sick skills

  • sick skills

  • Having done this for only a week, i can do all of this... Throw in some contact. Show me a double prayer steve into jesus, and I'll buy that this is "extreme"

  • i AM a beginner. i've been practicing with a staff everyday this week and i'm impressed with how quickly i've been picking it up, so i'm pretty sure it's something i'll be sticking with. i was just looking for more moves to practice. i've got a couple questions-

how long is that staff? i'm a bit taller than you at 6'2" so i'll go a touch longer, but the one i've got right now is 60" and i think i'm going to trim it down some. just looking for a target range or maybe a rule of thumb.

  • so how long did it take u to learn all that?? it's sick!

  • What way do you spin it with? With all of your fingers, or between your thumb and pointer finger?

  • great vid, learner, just great ^_^

  • Dude that's fuckin awesome..good job!!!

  • It's 5:11 in the am and I fancy doing some fire staff spinning (I live on campus at University and it's actually illegal to keep paraffin in your room but I have a massive bottle of it) now to find someone unseen to do it.

  • yeah man! great job ^^

  • the pic at the begining are pretty cool

  • that was a great video best ive seen now the light graffiti was a great touch cant wait to start practicing, what was the glass breaking in the back ground? haha

  • Nicely edited and very creative moves. I like the drops or "throws" you sneak in right in the middle of another move.

  • why do you speed up the video? it takes away from it. show us u real skills next time. ur still sick to be fair

  • @Hensman421

lol i don t have speed up my video.

look my other day video ...

try with small and heavy staff you ll anderstand ...

  • @firespindoktor

  • @Karasu974

  • This is my new hobby I will upload my video soon but I can spin fire staff

  • good spinning dude, i like the way u spin.keep it up.

  • how long is your staff?

  • @happynuts ...hey ! 1.02m for this one, (and me 1m85) bye

  • I'm liking the behind the back catch. I'm going to have to work on that one.

  • good fire performance, even better is your willingness to answer everyone's questions

actually everyone here has a good attitude, glad to see everyone has a co-operative, giving attitude towards eachother

  • dude, would you mind posting a tutorial on the techniques at 1:30? I typically use a longstaff but it sholdnt be too hard to adapt.

  • Very, very cool

Getting that slick after 8 months is worthy of respect

Keep the flame burning bruv "-)

  • Out of interest, what do you use for fuel? Nice spinning :)

  • @HexReinette Can't speak for him but kerosene is a good fuel

  • how long should the staff be? im only 5'6

  • LOL PERFORM AT MY BIRTHDAY. <3

  • hey man got any other kinda stuff for like a street performer

  • MAD PROPS DUDE

sum of the best and fastest spinning if seen....

  • OMFG! Dde you are EPIC! i mean to me you are an idol! you spin just sooo fast and look soooo good! THUMBS UP!

  • hey man! i have a question for you. ive been spinning for awhile now and ive got some of the harder moves like the jesus roll but i cant figure you how you keep the staff spinning in one hand? is it finger rolls or something else?

  • he is fast, but hte video is accelerated

  • Amazing spinning, as well as video editing, I thought I'd never find anything good on youtube but here you go...

  • hey, how'd you manage to get all those 'symbols' out of the moves? I saw like spirals, pentagons, the yin yang thing and stuff

  • what's the length of your staff?

  • how hevy is each end? a good firestaff has weights in 'em so the centrufigralpower (not sure what it's called in english :P) has bigger effect.

btw, you are really good at this! come to sweden! My masters (they taught me firestaffing) would really like to "duell" you, at least that's what I think...

  • Good Show Bro

  • The best I've ever seen!!

  • Wow!!! You are truely awesome!

  • this video aws alright one of the guys mention the length of the video wich is true but also this just my personal opinion suo im not trying to hate but i think so of thetricks he did were easier do to the length of the staff because a regular staff is suppose to be up to ur chin not the size of ur arm... but other than tht he did a good job his tricks were clean and i give him props for that

  • @pyro1234able The shortened length of the staff gives the illusion of higher speed and in my opinion makes this video look amazing!

  • @pyro1234able actually its meant to come up to your armpit

  • @pyro1234able There is no set length for a firestaff, its all down to personal preference, i've been spinning staff for 7 years and by your calculation my staff would be "Too small" you get the best of both worlds, enough length and weight to do contact and to keep momentum and short enough to do throws and wotnot, i doubt catching a 5.5ft staff under your leg would be very pleasant.

  • this is cool!

  • Well done ,maybe work a little on your combo's, but great job with the one handed airspins.

  • i've been playing with a staff all week... thought hmm i should light these on fire and youtubed fire staff and saw ur vid....

WOW!!! =] thanks for the inspiration!

  • mec t le meillieur

  • Would you please give me some websides, where i can learn to spinn like that.

  • @ffrrnng youtube my friend youtube.... I learned that way

  • @firespindoktor

that comment inspired me. I've been amazed at poi, wanted to give it a shot. something simple first haha

  • @ffrrnng research 11MCP11 on youtube and google... her site is all about staff tutorials

  • Hmmm I thought It was extremely hot...Ha Loved every minute of it..

  • you're pretty good

  • hey guy's you're right.

my video ist just 4 fun.

    to motivate beginners

  • the video isnt 6 minutes of solid spinning. its edited due to mistakes as well as the fact the kevlar doesnt burn that long.

  • those images were done with basic shutter speed manipulation, anyone could do it. literally. you need to get out and rub shoulders with some that are of a higher calibre in order to break your old programming, the moves are repetitous. Ive been fire breathing manipukating fire for 7 years now, and I think youd agree that the old moves get stale over time.

  • good twirling.. but you try to look outside traditional twirling techniques and look towards style

  • Diggin the in place type throws... i dont see alot of that around I think people think it is to subtle but I love em... Keep burnin!

  • t mon idole =)

  • This is awesome. I swing fire poi but would love to learn staff. Any good websites that could teach me how to spin?

  • TheZeadin... call me old man but i have a long heavy staff.. it is getting really difficult to do the tricks. i was thinking of getting a shorter staff to do more tricks with . i love this video its pretty. good luck to all you spinners be careful out there :)

  • haha u are spinning a burning chop stick! na im just jocking but i really think ur staff is pretty short.

try a longer one. u can do a lot more tricks with it, a long and heavy staff is great for kicks or foot work even u can do some acrobatics with it.

  • the point in a shorter staff is for doing tighter tricks with a faster spin and it's less likely to catch on your clothes when trying to get it under your arm or leg.

  • Comment removed

  • dude dont mean to knock you but slow it down a lil bit only a bit will look a lot more controlled! dont get me wrong i'm not knocking you but will look better you def got the moves but going that fast makes it hard to incorperate the contact stuff!!! Constructive critiscism

  • Looks more save than poi's

  • XD dont be scared by the fire, im spinning a staff with pretty big flames and im using parafine. I already hit my naked chest and my face... the hit itself hurts more than the flames or the heat. but dont lose ur respect from the fire! do what u can and not more. two things to care about if u start with burning things: first dont hit ur body during the first 50-80 secs! this is important. if u hit urself during this time ull have burning parafine on ur skinn/clothe care about ur hair! XD

  • i always wear clothes that cover my whole body and a hat so i burn my hair.. Both i had mulltiple times that the chains wrap around your arm or leg, have fun getting them loose without burning yourself.

  • @TheZeadin I found the best way to combat being burnt is to accept that it is going to happen at some point, its just a question of when and how badly, in 7 years i've only been burnt once, and that was about a month ago and was only a surface burn.

  • great, just looked at this for inspiration im off to farmer phills festival in an hour and am takin my staff :),,,,,im a novice though,,,ooooer

  • WOW!!! nice three beat shoulder push, its perfect

  • can you tell me how long is your staff? i have 130cm. is it good?

  • Im just starting out and i got to say that was the shittest peice of staffing ive ever seen ;) x

  • that was AMAZING man im jst getting atarted and cant get nearly yhtat fast :P how namy years have you been doing it??

  • lol just 7 or 8 month i think but training every days... good luck man may the force be with you

  • very impressive!!! veeery fast!!! nice!!!

  • Impressive, I can do a lot of those moves, just not nearly as fast. Those look like 4 ft staffs... I'm looking for a good LED, where did you get that one? If it is LED anyway.

  • LED?!?! Open your eyes, its fire!? o_O

  • It looks to me as though he has different clips, each using different staffs. Start watching from 0:44 - you can see a big difference when the clip changes. The first one is either the fire staff from the second clip dying down, or a bright LED.

  • OK. Maybe your´re right. To me it looked like a quite burned down staff. But who knows, but firespindoctor... ;) Sry for beeing so offensive. :D

  • the fuel wears out over time so its just the fire dimming down as its fuel runs out and then its brighter when a new clip starts because of the new flame/fuel

  • Kickass vid bro! How lond R U playin'?

Wish I would be that fast :DDD

  • nice job, but you should make sure the viewers are aware that the video was sped up before it was uploaded.

  • this is very true, look at the fire can on the ground, it has surely been sped up.

  • my 2 cents...

A little repetitive but very good but lay off the effects maybe? for all other spinners out there who have seen too many pictures / slow motion effects and just want to see what you can do.

    peace

  • you are so fucking fast and your throws are so high

inspiration to a gal who is learning

  • omg u are awesome i cant even do this and i am in shock u rule

  • You are the man.

  • hey thats cool. you reckon you could do like a tutorial or something?

  • Well I thought it was amazing, great job!

  • Perhaps something besides 2 beat... behind back. throw. Not very "extreme". Just my 2 cents

  • you use your right arm too much

  • well it was a bit long and quite a lot of repitition. I found myself skimming through after a while. try making your vids a little shorter for those of us who have short attention spans.

  • awesome

  • i love how fluid you are. how long you been spinning for?

  • yh you are good ..... but ther only reason u go that fast is cause u have ea sorter one ........ if you get one the size on 1.2 meters then it looks much cooler and you and also keep the speed ! lol xx (help: wik size 65mm helps

im not saying you bad ur r good but u can do better with this . ty

  • fantastic...nice one

  • dude kudos love the good old 3-point at 1:00

  • Really nice stuff! Especially all the horizontal throws and bodymoves.

  • yeah i been practicing with sticks since i was like 6 and I'm about to start classes now. i hope i can be as good as u

  • SICK! damn he's good.

  • Sick stuff bud! Love the between, under and around the legs stuff lol - crazy :-D

    Pics are ace too

  • cool fire spinning! i'm just starting out, and wow! I wish it wasn't sped up at some points, but still insane!!! =0

  • You realize he's probably doing this in fast motion.. Kidding. :) Great Video.

  • You realize he's probably doing this in fast motion..

  • That turned me on...very "hot" talent. Great job!

  • WOW! I'm just beggining in this stuff and I'm frightened on how much skill I still need to go. Step by step I guess...

It seems that it's spinning so fast because the staff is shorter (the flames are closer to the gravity center and the closer they are the faster they spin)

    Great video

  • Unasked word of advice... practice every day, even if only for half an hour... dont mean to brag, but I started last january and now I´m sort of working for a professional troupe and all... the tip is being constant. PLUR.

  • Could you recommend any specific resources that you found useful?

  • For staff spinning? Well... I got 3 in mind and they work for many other stuff :)

First of al, its good to run the moves through your mind without the toy itself, just move your hands as you´re suposed to and imagine the toy spinning around... second, use mirrors (or shadows), this is an undisputed tool to get the hang of tricks... last, but not least, music, find your rythm in it and in time it´ll gve lotsa "tips" finding combos, tricks and stuff... Good luck and keep it up.

  • this is one of the best fire spinning videos i've ever seen

  • That's nice. I prefer the longer staffs myself which means I can't come inside like you do. I may have to have a little go with a shorter staff. Thanks for the great vid.

  • this is minted

but when i do staff i prefer 2 be chilled n do it slowly

im no way neer as good as u tho XD

oh n it looks like its going really fast but it coz u cant see the stick ^^

  • amazing, how did you get those spins so fast with one hand?

  • nice under the leg and behind the back catches....but that music is so lame i couldn't make it to the end of the video

  • that's no staff...

  • very impressive! fast spinning and nice smooth catches. bit cheeky speeding it up though....

  • He doesn't speed it up as far as I can tell.

  • to be fair, rewatching it i think you're right - the 1st time I watched it i thought a couple of sections were sped up but now I think it's not. still awesome spinning :)

  • uh, that sounded funny - I was logged in as rhombohedron when I wrote that. tee hee.

  • Very nice rolls and transitions. Also nice on the front and behind the back catches. Very fluid. It's good to see someone with some actual skills. Good job!

    Bon-Fire Staff Spinner

  • very nice. fluid movement. pretty good match up with the song

  • im may only be 13, but you are my inseration, i think i'n going to try this out someday.

  • yeah im only thirteen so although my dad got me fire poi he wont let me use them until until he see im 'good' enough just coz he saw me trying to learn a new trick and stuffing it a bit

  • yeah, i just haven't had the oprotunity to try it. but as soon as i do, i am.

  • god!!!!!! Jesus!!!!!! Wow!!!

    No more to say

  • perfect!!!!!!!!!!!

    im your fan!!

    great video

u the best staff user i saw!

  • wow, awesome dude... i really need to try it also with a shorter staff... think i cant handle that with my long one... nice show

  • hmmm , i reckon shorter staffs are easier. ah well, every has their ups and downs.

  • Thats awesome!

Haha, I think im gonna go for a spin now XD!

  • wonderful control and timing, bravo

  • what do u use to keep the fire burning?

that is my major problem with my staff, ya know

  • Kerosene is good.

  • You think he's that fast? Just take a closer look at the small candle in the foreground - you'll see then what makes him fast ;)

    But nonetheless, good moves.

  • you're very fast (and talented), but why do you use such a short staff? Is that a 3 foot? 5 foot are much more impressive!

  • Wow... :O

I am RELLY impressed!, how could you be so fast in your hands? you don´t hade to awnser, I know it allready:

    "I´ve been training!"

  • Whoa!

Awesome! Can u upload videos with some of these moves in slowmotion? U r so fast that I didn't got some of them, specially the one that you pass trought your legs.

  • well....i can do those spinnings, but please tell me how to do the anarchy sign :D i've learned all the spinnings before seeing this video, but i really want to learn if there's a special spinning for the anarchy sign :)

  • Hi

    By lighting only one end.

you must simply draw that in front of you as with a giant pen!

After, the camera does the job.

  • Nice moves man!! Really cool.

    Check out our fire vid

    Burnsclinic

  • fucking ace!

  • Keep up the good work

check out firetricks or view my own fire vids ! :)

  • have you sped that up?

  • no ! lol

  • 'went faster' - you are so retarted. good video!

  • u could have went faster

  • Juhrome's a dumbass, nice spinning.

  • bravo :D
