Ceoliac Disease is diagnosed partly via a blood test, also to confirm that the blood test is correct, a Bronchoscopy of the Small Intestine is preformed, to help with the diagnosis and a biopsy is taken. I do not recall anywhere within the video it stating that it was the only way for diagnosis.
Due to gluten being hidden within many products, it is a process of elimination as it takes patience along with trail and error to get rid of gluten from your diet.
The information presented in this video is not correct. Celiac disease is not diagnosed based on blood test. The only way to diagnose it either by genetic testing or gluten free diet - and gluten in toothpaste, soaps and shampoos should be eliminated as well.
Thank you for the information. I was just diagnosed. I have been very lucky to have a great primary care doctor who was able to identify my symptoms and do the lab tests doe it. I have just started on the gluten free diey. It's not that hard nrcause they make so many gluten free foods. I just went to a couple of stores amd loaded up on gluten free foods.
My friend just made a post on something really interesting she saw online about a potential cure for gluten intolerance and celiac disease that seems to work for just about everyone with gluten issues. I don't know about it's 'true' validity, however I'd say it's worth at least looking into. Leave your comments on this hot topic! She'd like to hear of your perspectives at

@babyj1996 Wine is gluten free. Most beer has gluten, but there are some gluten free beers that are supposedly great....I can't stand beer, so I can't attest to how great they are! LOL Also, Most vodka is gluten free, as is Tequilla.

I just found out I have Celiacs two months ago, and since then I have been on a Gluten Free diet, however I still have issues with stomach aches and I get tired really easy. How long does it usually take before you start feeling better on the diet??
it can take up to a year. you should make sure you are getting rid of hidden gluten sources (spices, toothpaste, chapstick, condiments, etc.). Also, many people are sensitive to what they put on their body like shampoos and lotions.
You may be allergic to casein (milk protein) as well. I am allergic to both. Casein is biologically similar to gluten and many times people are allergic to both. Also, I didn't have to wait long at all. I felt awesome after two days and never looked back. If you feel bad after two months then you may be allergic to something else entirely.
@xxmike805xx Some people take months to completely heal. Still having problems after being off gluten for two months does not mean you don't not have celiac disease.
How do I know? I have celiac disease and it takes 6 months to get completely normal after a bad contamination.
Changing the diet to self diagnose is not a good idea. If you think you have celiac disease, stay on gluten and get tested.
I went through the same thing. I've had symptoms for more than 10 yrs. it got to the point where some days i couldn't even get out of bed because my whole body hurt. i finally stopped going to the dr. because every time i went she would just increase my anti depressants. its good to know now after all theese years i'm not crazy!
ugh... another words.. almost everything is off limits...I just got diagnosed last week..... Good to know that I have it, so I can try and eat the right stuff... Gotta make the best of it. And besides, I think this gluten free diet is pretty healthy. Thanks for the video.

Aline, I went to McGill with you and we hung out occasionally. Do you remember laughing a lot with a crazy indian musician? Glad you are such a success but I loved the curly version of your hair that ascended into the clouds. Please go back to looking like the drummer in Lenny Kravitz band.

apparently you need to spend at least 6 months on a strict gluten-free diet before you notice any reasonable changes.

I noticed drastic changes after two days. Where did you get your information from?

AND.... There are a bazillion things that have Gluten in them that are not marked. You could still be ingesting it and not even know it!

What frustrates me the most is that most docs don't even know about this! It's an outrage.
