  • Thank you.

  • Of course they replaced it with a even $#!%%!34 commercial

  • Classic!

  • I always wonder if somebody has ever done this before? LOL

This was made before those "Professional tunt grandma, do not attempt." subtitles... LOL

  • This and the Tootsie Pop ad (you know, "Mr. Owl...") are the longest running ads of all time. I haven't seen this one before but I've seen the Tootsie Pop ad on Cartoon Network and Disney XD.

  • i keep hearing that this is the longest running commercial, but i haven't seen it on t.v. i still see the tootsie pop commercial tho. which is older?

  • I thought this would have over a million views by now. Its hella funny.

  • This commercial was filmed in Phoenix in the early 70's. I worked on a film crew that used the same local actress in another commercial, her last name was Olmstead, forgot her first name, I believe she passed away a few years ago

  • My mom use to work for her.. Glendale, AZ

  • @person122699 oh yes because a thirty year old commercial that has been running since it was first aired is stupid. Stupid.

  • supposdly this is a guy from what my grand ma told me

  • Long ago, my wife’s car slid on some ice and hit the curb with both left side tires, which blew out. The whole set was from Discount. She was furious but started laughing when I suggested that she return them the same way the old lady did.

  • @marinesyco3 longest meaning its been running for the longest time, apparently it started in 1975... and I just saw it about a minute ago while watching the blackhawks game.

  • Online women for dating **rockmycity.info**

  • This should be an event in the World's Strongest Man competition on ESPN2.

  • This is a classic. Still played all the time here in Michigan.

  • Best commercial. never gets old.

  • I remember this from when I was a kid, and that was the mid 1980's.

  • Looks like it was filmed in southern California. I wonder what is there now?

  • @fatalcoolfatalcool - It was filmed in Phoenix; that much I know for sure. That's supposed to be Metrocenter Mall in the background behind the lady. Could be - I don't know for sure.

  • @trytonez Yes, that is Shaw Butte in the background. It was filmed near Metrocenter in 1975. Metrocenter was a new mall back then. I also remember this from when I was a kid.

  • When was this made?

  • @16mmDJ - 1975 - there's a blurb about it on Discount Tire's web site. You can Google it and find it.

  • @trytonez were ?

  • @trytonez were?

  • Great commercial

  • LOL Now THAT sucks!! LOL That old lady cracks me up!!

  • do that with the xbox 360

  • I remember watching this commercial back when I was in High school...I am 50 years old now...it is the longest running commercial

  • the funny thing about it is that its Mr. Halle the owner of discount tire thats dressed up as the old lady

  • @pegleg09able wow, i wonder if it it is a midwestern regional commercial, because i am 40 and never ever seen this one before. Is Discount Tire Company only in the midwest? Just curious. I just saw this ad on tv today for the first time and noticed how old it was, so I had to find it on Youtube. :)

  • @cjs33139 It was filmed in the Western U.S. Discount Tire is in AZ, NV and CA. I grew up in Las Vegas and remember seeing this commercial as a kid. I'm 43.

  • I love this commercial because that is how I feel like doing sometimes. lol

  • I just saw it on NBC. Will they ever stop running this ad?

  • THAT'S TOOTSIE POP! I think. Tootsie pop is still airing - i know that for a fact

  • didnt the tootsie pop commercial come out before this one(1970). which still runs today.

Mr owl, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop

  • Damn, funny as hell

  • they were probably closed when she threw it though the window

  • thats funny when she threw it through the window she must have been really pissed with that tire in real life she would have had to pay for the window and would have been arrested

  • First aired in 1975, still plays to this day. It won an award for "The World's Best Broadcasting Advertisement" from the Hollywood Radio and Television Society in 1976.

Thanks for sharing this. I actually looked for this because my fiancee had never seen it. And shes two years older than I am! Glad I found it.

  • thats hilarious, first time i have ever seen it

  • Best. Commercial. Ever.

  • I keep seeing it on ESPN just prior to any of the races. Which I think is hysterical considering its well...ESPN!

  • How is that hysterical? Racing is a sport and ESPN is a sports network.

  • It was on the speed channel before the Texas Motor Speedway race.

  • I agree with everyone who laughs at this classic commercial. It willl be funny a hundred years from now, and the company obviously knows it.

  • This commercial will never, EVER, grow old.

  • their HQ used to be at Ann Arbor, but they moved their HQ to Scottsdale.

  • LOL, one of THE best ads ever!! I first saw this in 1978 at Lake Havasu, AZ. It was so funny because it was so unexpected, and I think we've all wanted to do something like that!

  • i havent seen this in forever

  • I thought this was shot in el paso not phoenix

  • funny clip.

most of the time are CUSTOM RETURN

all pissed off cause their DUMB

and we have to make IT PERFRECT. again

  • this commercial is so funny started 1975-2007

  • Guess what? The commercial's still airing.

  • Yep... I still see it about twice a week here in Salt Lake City. It usually comes on during Utah Jazz games.

  • haha, as being a DTC employee nothing would make my day more then to see someone throw a tire through the window haha.

  • According to the company's website, someone actually did that back in '86, and caused about $400 in damage.

  • I think I hard about something like that...

  • I live down the street from this location. There is still a Discount Tire there. If that was filmed today. You would not see so far off in the distance and see that mountain. There are many trees, other store buildings and the Metro Center Mall. Back then, that was truely on the outskirts of the north end of phoenix. Now it is almost center of town. WOW.

  • This was shot in about '76 or '77 in Phoenix Arizona. It still airs periodically today.

  • A truly classic commercial!!

  • Inspirational
