I understand what you mean. It's kinda odd to have one speak in a particular language and the other reply in the other language. I suppose they're so comfortable with each other that they lapse easily into French and English. Alexi and Tatiana also speak in a mixture of English and Russian. :)

in the french version its not the same thing, the french girl speaks french(obviously) and the english girl speaks french too with a english accent... It sounds like this games was originally made in french
In general, people tend to understand other languages better than they speak them. If two people understand each other's primary languages, it's not uncommon for them to speak like that.
