  • Nicely done.

  • exactly where are YOU when you are taping these??? Gonna have to look up this river -- must be some kinda BAD!!! LOVE your videos.

  • @dixiedragon54 From the shore and sea wall.

  • you dont use bow thrusters when steaming.

  • Nice! Thanks

  • good show chaps

  • That's awesome. That boat's gotta have bow thrusters though, eh? Can't see how they could maintain control otherwise...

  • @bartofilms 47's do not have bow thrusters. twin screw twin engine diesels.

  • Still think Textron should have designed the stern a little more rounder like the old 44ftr. You wouldn't have that surfing effect as bad. :-D

  • at about 25 or 26 seconds it looks like a fish jumps out of the water

  • love waves ! love action

  • What a great place to cut your teeth! The Chetco bar is never dull during a storm surge. One wrong move or missed timing and you're in for one helluva spin! The coasties, here, do this almost in their sleep. It's like surfing, only with a whole new meaning! Thanks for the post. I'm missin', big time!

  • beautifull

  • that was perfect! i hate crossing bars, espiecially on the way back in.

  • I love your videos! They are so cool. And, I love how you don't put music to them so we can hear the ocean, the boat motors, and all the sounds :)

I am moving to Fort Bragg, CA to attend the College of the Redwoods, and I love your videos of Northern CA and Oregon... they give me a peek into the northwest coast until I can get over there to go to college! (I live in Wyoming!)

Just out of curiosity, why do the coast guard boats go out when the sea is rough? Do you happen to know?

  • @poopsie1215 I would guess for better training purposes, and Thanks for watching.

  • @poopsie1215 Because they have to be able to go out in most conditions to help others. Bad weather is when they HAVE to be able to safely navigate. That boat is made for super ugly conditions...you can find a few more vids of it on YT. They practice rolling (yes, a 360 underwater) one kind of rescue craft) certain rough water craft...not sure if this is one....I don't see the roll-tower.

  • @poopsie1215

I would assume the reason that the Coast Guard goes out when its stormy is... because it's the Coast Guard. They go out to save lives and make sure you aren't on their list of people to search for tomorrow.

  • @poopsie1215 THey go out for a number of reasons. Training, SAR (Search And Rescue), sometimes they go out for a little bit of fun. Usually it's training though.
