  • you should do this type of video with in memory of elizabeth reed or whipping post

  • Beautiful!!!

  • Comment removed

  • duane is the living embodiment of the charlie parker saying: learn your axe completely, then forget that shit and play!

  • ah man i need to get fucked up and watch this, love it

  • which verson of Hot´Lanta is this?

I´ve got At Filmore East and don´t seems the same verson

  • @Pazito114 it's from "Live in Columbia, MO 2/28/71"

  • @DanClemente1 thanks a lot dude

  • Cool man, always love hearing alternate takes of Duanes playing, its always refreshing because he plays SO DIFFERENTLY and its always awesome!!

Really good job on lining up the video to make it look like he might be playing those licks, cool!

  • Love valley? Is it available somewhere? He's still the best!

  • Do a search of Love Valley + Allman Brothers, I think it is still up. But to be clear, this audio isn't from Love Valley, just the video.

  • @TrucksStop thanks a lot, and what about the audio? I have some live stuff with Duane but never heard such solo in Hot 'lanta

  • Is this footage from Fillmore?

  • No, this is from Love Valley, NC

  • Ah. I'm from NC myself. Is there any other footage of this performance? I'd love to see more.

  • For the record, It is Duane who is playing this very common lick, I occasionally use it in a solo. There is no slide. For an example, 1st finger on the 2nd string at the 12th fret and 4th finger on the 1st string at the 15th fret. Start picking at the 2nd string first. Sorry for being so tech. Duane did use a fuzz pedal, but most of the sweetest sounding notes of all times was all soul, technique, and a vintage Les Paul with amazing pick-ups. His Marshall & Bassman amp heads also contribuated

  • Typical snot-nose pre-puberty little boy too immature to make sense of soulful and genius guitar playing.

Duane Allman's music is for grownups, Period!!!

  • @Skyman46 ...what a idiot;...what you think about who is the best or not is so relative, so I accept what people think but, I just say that great guitar player shouldnt be compared(except for Jimmi...he the best)

  • Again Duane Allman's guitar playing is for grownups not adolescent little boys...what you get off on is the showmanship and not pure guitar playing there's a difference. Hendrix was more concerned with how he looked on stage playing between his legs and all the ridiculous shit he did on stage than focusing on music. You're the idiot!!!

  • Ohh men; I know what U mean, but please, what the fuck?? so jimi didnt focus on the music, yeahh you are right, foxy lady, purple harze doesnt have any good music quality?? common and he played between his legs just because he could do it and because he wanted...it doesnt means that he was any guitar player...see at the rolling stone magazine...theres no doubt men; but I think that its depends what U like; because for me jimmy PAge is my favorite but I repeat, its better not to compare

  • If Jimi had focussed on music alone he would've been a great guitarist as Duane Allman was.

  • I agree that musically allman is better; but jimi guitar talent was exceptional, but I really dont care whos better than who...both are !icionos" of this instrument

  • @Skyman46 ???? ?? ????

  • @Haldwing ????????????????????

  • What, no Zappa????

  • How does this sound come out of a guitar? He's not using any effects as far as I know.

  • Yeah man duane didn't have enough arms to accomplish his potential

  • people just love to debate.....

  • This is a perfectly represents everything allman bros. Its all psychedelic, southern, bluesy, and jazz all at the same time.

  • Couldn't said it better myself!

  • Duane Allman is the best guitarist of all time and Jimi Hendrix is just a force of nature that surpasses a list

  • !0-4

  • I can't believe you even named that loser yngwie on this video. Yngwie can play fast. That's it. and it sounds "cool" to some people because its in a classical style. SO FUCKIN WHAT! Duane plays with emotion and improv. Something Yngwie and most "shredders" LACK! You are way over your boundaries saying something like that.

  • What you said about Duane's emotion is the key. NO one was better than Duane. NO one!

  • @Drivenut4 I like shredders.... but I LOVE DUANE!!

  • man you're stupid ....so wait how many genres of music has yngwie malsteen created before the age of 25 or many legendary sessions has he played on

  • He's the the sencond Greatest Guitarist of All Time.

  • NOT!

  • Yes he IS. Rolling Stone ranks him that high, only Jimi Hendrix before him.

  • Well not that I disagree with Duane being 2 or Hendrix being 1, but Rolling Stone doesn't have the best lists. They are political and have generational bias.

  • Simply the best ever.

  • Trippy cool.
