For the record, It is Duane who is playing this very common lick, I occasionally use it in a solo. There is no slide. For an example, 1st finger on the 2nd string at the 12th fret and 4th finger on the 1st string at the 15th fret. Start picking at the 2nd string first. Sorry for being so tech. Duane did use a fuzz pedal, but most of the sweetest sounding notes of all times was all soul, technique, and a vintage Les Paul with amazing pick-ups. His Marshall & Bassman amp heads also contribuated
@Skyman46 ...what a idiot;...what you think about who is the best or not is so relative, so I accept what people think but, I just say that great guitar player shouldnt be compared(except for Jimmi...he the best)
Again Duane Allman's guitar playing is for grownups not adolescent little boys...what you get off on is the showmanship and not pure guitar playing there's a difference. Hendrix was more concerned with how he looked on stage playing between his legs and all the ridiculous shit he did on stage than focusing on music. You're the idiot!!!
Ohh men; I know what U mean, but please, what the fuck?? so jimi didnt focus on the music, yeahh you are right, foxy lady, purple harze doesnt have any good music quality?? common and he played between his legs just because he could do it and because he wanted...it doesnt means that he was any guitar player...see at the rolling stone magazine...theres no doubt men; but I think that its depends what U like; because for me jimmy PAge is my favorite but I repeat, its better not to compare
I agree that musically allman is better; but jimi guitar talent was exceptional, but I really dont care whos better than who...both are !icionos" of this instrument

I can't believe you even named that loser yngwie on this video. Yngwie can play fast. That's it. and it sounds "cool" to some people because its in a classical style. SO FUCKIN WHAT! Duane plays with emotion and improv. Something Yngwie and most "shredders" LACK! You are way over your boundaries saying something like that.
Well not that I disagree with Duane being 2 or Hendrix being 1, but Rolling Stone doesn't have the best lists. They are political and have generational bias.
you should do this type of video with in memory of elizabeth reed or whipping post

Love valley? Is it available somewhere? He's still the best!

Do a search of Love Valley + Allman Brothers, I think it is still up. But to be clear, this audio isn't from Love Valley, just the video.

Typical snot-nose pre-puberty little boy too immature to make sense of soulful and genius guitar playing.

If Jimi had focussed on music alone he would've been a great guitarist as Duane Allman was.
