  • Sorry... lame. Just demo it. And get rid of light reflection

  • So would a grace note performed on a guitar be considered a 'hammer on/off'

  • not always. Grace notes can be slid into, etc. The biggest factor of a grace note is that it happens so fast that it doesn't get a count in music, but rather just the quick sound of the note :)

  • HI! Great teaching .can i ask for something? i've seen interesting thing its this:

u have a tabulaturelike this: 5 5 5 5 and i saw a number in brackets like this: (5) 5 5 (5) 5 can u help me( and a lot of people too) with this and explain it? i don't know what is it. btw it won't display in notes but on tabs and sound a little softly.

  • Thanks!

  • Glad it helped!

  • how do you read a note that is connected to each other?

  • Hmm.. I think you mean connected by the stems. You would actually read it the same. Stems are made to keep the music easier to read. Go to my website and do a search for the term 'Notes Explained' or 'Stems' and your answer should pop up. Feel free to email me, too. I wanna help you!

  • I didn't even know there was such a thing as grace notes until now. Thanks Walt! That makes sense.

  • Paradis.. so glad you're learning!

  • Walt, your awesome, but please buy a black money for your whiteboard! Lol I will donate some money towards this cause!

  • go to the donation page of my website if you want. Its on the front page of my website just below the header. Stay well deadend :)

  • Grace Notes must be fast, you can hardly see them! Good explination of grace notes but between the lighting and red pen...

  • good explaination Walt i learned something new

  • Sure did! Learn something new every day.

  • pretty good explanation

  • thanks walt

  • Good on 'ya for producing these videos.

The physical playing of the grace notes helped clarify how they sound. The diagrams were spoilt by the light or something but, the whole purpose was to teach grace notes and you succeeded in that.

    Thanks Walt.

  • Aww cool! Thx man, glad it helped!

  • grace notes are great for saving space on the score. great vid, Walt. have a fantastic day.
