The problem with Mac is the inability to fit in a standardized platform. People can install Windows, Linux, and possibly Leopard, but Macs is very picky with hardware, and that is the reason why we are so divided. Well no, I don't think that's what 'whoever-it-was' meant. The fact is, these features were stolen from OS X by Vista, the features themselves are all well and good, but the flaws of Vista lie within it's lack of stability and poor performance. To compare OS X and Vista is to compare a knife to a piece of paper. The two are in no way similar, Vista just stole a few old features from OS X. It's kernel is still NT or some crap.
Microsoft copied the basic GUI and features of apple and changed them so it would not be copyright broken. It was really xeorox who started it all with the first computer and OS.
Actually Microsoft/Windows had most of the features before Apple/Mac even decide to put them on their OS, Apple just made their better features on their OS. But Microsoft started it all.

vista sp1 is pretty good, but it's still a memory hog compared using 3x the amount xp after a clean boot with nothing running. this is an issue for 32 bit OS with a theoretical max of ~3GB. this is a significant issue with us flight simmers using FSX and the excellent PMDG products which requires ALOT of memory.[1]
windows 7 beta however is looking good, with memory usage very much like that of XP
i dont know where you are getting your information from, but here in australia at least, dell is the biggest supplier to corporate sales. so their customer satisfaction must be pretty high.
as for mac, i like them too however after using both they both come off feeling completely different. xp looks clunky. vista and mac ui BEHAVIOUR are completely different really - desktops, menu, application windows all have their own flavor.

I use Vista, thanks, and I have had less problems, than I have had, using OS X, the thing always freezes, and it stops responding, it never stays connected to the network, and more. Vista, I have had no problems.

Well no, I don't think that's what 'whoever-it-was' meant. The fact is, these features were stolen from OS X by Vista, the features themselves are all well and good, but the flaws of Vista lie within it's lack of stability and poor performance. To compare OS X and Vista is to compare a knife to a piece of paper. The two are in no way similar, Vista just stole a few old features from OS X. It's kernel is still NT or some crap.

What is great is there to inspire others.
Although it may seams to some as a copy, it is no more then the logical evolution of a desgine that has proved to work.

mac has yet to make an impact on the corporate or gaming market.
mac, by definition does not allow you to customise your computer (unless you are getting a Gx and by then you cant afford to buy any business or gaming software)
for this, they will most likely always have the cookie crumbs market share

vista sp1 is pretty good, but it's still a memory hog compared using 3x the amount xp after a clean boot with nothing running. this is an issue for 32 bit OS with a theoretical max of ~3GB. this is a significant issue with us flight simmers using FSX and the excellent PMDG products which requires ALOT of memory.[1]
windows 7 beta however is looking good, with memory usage very much like that of XP

i dont know where you are getting your information from, but here in australia at least, dell is the biggest supplier to corporate sales. so their customer satisfaction must be pretty high.
as for mac, i like them too however after using both they both come off feeling completely different. xp looks clunky. vista and mac ui BEHAVIOUR are completely different really - desktops, menu, application windows all have their own flavor.
the appearance however i agree are similar

I use Vista, thanks, and I have had less problems, than I have had, using OS X, the thing always freezes, and it stops responding, it never stays connected to the network, and more. Vista, I have had no problems.
Thats what I meant, by hardly compatible, it will only work with Apple hardware, and way more is available for Windows, both hardware and software, thats a fact, most game companies make a game for Windows first, and maybe OS X.

I could careless about video games on my computer. I play them on my playstation 3. Now, it is probably not the MacOSX that was crashing but you were to dumb to figure out what you were doing or you are just full of shit. Obviously it will work with only apple hardware, and even then you can't even say apple hardware because OSX won't work on a normal PC. OSX is a fucking mac EXCLUSIVE! Meaning it is only on mac. Bottom line: You are an idiot because I never had problems with my macbook.

Well, then all the students in both of my 2 computer classes, are stupid, b/c I am not the only one, having problems, it is even teachers as well, they never had problems, when using Dells, but when they got the MAC PCs, it is like problem city arrived.
Actually, they have found a way to get OS X to run on a PC normally made to run Windows.
Well, we just had a technician in yesterday, working on the teachers Macbook, it wasn't working with some piece of equipment.

Microsoft copyed the idea of image computers from mac, the first mac was in 1981 or around there and then a few years later a company called "microsoft" had made a image computer. why do you think there so much the same. mac spend more time making there own thing but theres microsoft coping everythink they can. thats why they have so many os.
