I think Verena's problem isn't her driving, its her adaption skills. Japanese drifters have to learn how to hop from platform to platform as they total a lot of cars on the touge and they switch cars a lot. Verena probably learned how to drift in that exact 350Z she drives today, with some more tuning maybe, but still. And she needed to bash those pedals like Tscuchia-san! She babies those pedals like a mofo!

AE86's, 240's, even one guy drifting a stock toyota tacoma X-runner and doing surprisingly well for being in a truck. Your statement is false, maybe american pros don't have much skills because they practically use nascar type cars but amatuer circuit is stock cars and americans can do it you just don't see the non-pro guys on tv.

The problem lies is the fact that american "drifting" is just a glorified power slide. They use tons of power, over the top suspension setups and completely abuse the E-brake it's sloppy at best...You see the Japanese drifters can drift ANYTHING!  The only time they touch the E-brake (if ever) is to correct over stear ...They were risking their lives for their craft in the mountains before they became famous. The US just cant hang right now.

mustangs aren't to heavy to drift lol. the mustangs weight is 3450 pounds the R34 which some d1 drivers use and i think a FD driver is 3388.. so basically it has nothing to do with weight. if you say mustangs shouldn't drift well i think if thats the case r34's shouldn't drift.
