@ckillian The purpose of repeating chants is because in some cities it was made illegal to use voice projection devices. So in response the "Human Mic" was created in order for everyone no matter how far away can hear everything and have there chance for input. In some cities such as Vancouver (where I was) it was used to show solidarity with other movements.

Still, I don't see a good reason to repeat every word of a person who's using a loudspeaker. It makes more sense when they repeat the bearded fellow's words. @ckillian The purpose of repeating chants is because in some cities it was made illegal to use voice projection devices. So in response the "Human Mic" was created in order for everyone no matter how far away can hear everything and have there chance for input. In some cities such as Vancouver (where I was) it was used to show solidarity with other movements.
