I saw this movie years ago and just had a great time laughing my butt off. I seem to recall that head of the bad guys was a Chinese woman in a blond wig named Princess Dragon Mom.
The odd thing about the name "Inframan" is that its an obvious play on "Ultraman." But infra- is the opposite of ultra-. Ultra means "above, beyond" and infra means "below, inferior." INFERIORMAN!!!!
@GrimAtomic Very interesting point! Glad you brought it up. If I got my dates right, this came out about 10 years after the original Ultraman series. It's noted as being China's answer to Japan's Ultraman. This fact was obvious to me even back when I was 12. As true with most imitations or copies, no matter how good, they rarely outmatch the original. But in some cases that doesn't matter. I never got to see this as a kid, but I always remembered Inframan and consider it a CLASSIC. Peeese!
@RoShamBohhh i found the DVD digitally remastered a while back at BEST BUY for 14.99 luckily.... i went back a week later and they were out of stock, never restocked it again....
i'm actually quite amazed at the skill here.
