@D1rtyDuck beat me, I have no idea, I always heard that was was the reason he wasnt in the vid and I never doubted that... I'm gonna look it up, it got me curious too
true..the beat gets annoying..the whiney beat...with marley marl talking..can some one please answer??....where is Big Daddy King in this video???? oh yeah by the way....i always hated craig g
People will forever the debate the state of rap and Hip Hop. I even wrote a thesis on it. Fact is, that this music is eternal and inspires me everytime I listen to it. So big up to dese guys wherever they at, cause they inspire and have inspired millions. WHA WHAAAAAA
G Rap was so bad, he could make a lisp sound tight. Even the Spanish King who forced the whole country to speak ssspanish with big sssess probably didn't exist.
yeah yeah gheah. big daddy kane was too big a star to be in this video, he was too busy doin coke and trying to get parts in films like basic instinct, while these cats here are spittin fire in a scrap yard.
oh you thought i was serious? haha ok. i was half joking- half because i'm sure you heard the 'prince of darkness' album he droppped around this time-very hollywood. and of course this was also the period of his career that he was hanging with madonna. sure he was on the patti labelle tour (on coke trying to holla at sharon stone's agent) the day they filmed this.
@ghostface2006 True enuff, I get what your saying. But I still feel he's underated because his name rarely comes up in ANYBODY's top 10 or whatever. Even when alot of people refer to his era, his name is always left out. That "Take A Look Around" was one of the most versatile, complete, and well executed albums of all time as far as hip hop is conscerned in my opinion. I just wish people would be exposed to that album so they can witness what I witnessed.
The original of anything is usually the best. G Rap cuss too much so most of his verse was edited. Kane wasn't even in the video. This was my first time hearing the song and seeing the video.
i miss 1991 to. I miss going to magic mountains dance club and watching people house dance to hip hop instead of house music ! I had the jabo overalls with the guess shirts and watch lol.. The stiching in the clothes would glow under the black lights and would really look cool while dancing :)
this shit is flawless! yo im a white dude from buffalo i never really felt 50 and them boys i stick with this shit right here my fav of all time NAS smiff and wesson ect... i just cant feel hip hop nowadays it aint he same look at this they made it look effortless also i dont even know if you can call it hip hop any more the stanky leg man wtf!!! i thught that kinda shit was over!!?? well anyway stay up everyone that knows true hip hop we know the truth
Damn; To tell the truth, I did not like this back then. The Symphony was so hard, I thought the was kind of weak. Now, hearing this track, it sounds like REAL HIP HOP! And the rhymes are still fresh like its new shit. What the hell was I thinking? 20 years too late
yeah, but i wrote "2003 they were on fire", i didnt say G-UNIT was hot now. you cant forget the classic albums G-UNIT put out early in there carreer. from POWER OF THE DOLLAR, BEG FOR MERCY, HUNGER FOR MORE, & GET RICH OR DIE TRYING were all HOT albums that street niggas loved. so you maybe can diss the G-UNIT of now, but back then, G-UNIT was makin some hard street shit with BUCK, YAYO, BANKS, & 50 sayin HOT skillful lyrics over some great HARDCORE beats.
i think i gotta disagree with you. With the exception of a few tracks street cats wasn't really feeling G unit. It was the ladies and (don't take it personal) white suburbia that was buying their shit. And of course with MTV playing it all the time more suburbia got into them..making them HOT. Now do remember i did say there were a few tracks that "Real" street cats was feeling but overall most of them just took them for what they are/were.
well!, i dont know where youre from, but i'm from BROOKLYN NY, & in the early 2000's, it was a very large % of niggas who were bumping G-UNIT'S music, even in 2009 out here in BROOKLYN, 50 still has a pretty good fanbase, he does have a lot of haters also. but, just a few years ago, 50 did a 5 boro tour of NY, & i was at his show in brooklyn, & he had madd niggas from the hood up in there, the club was packed. & WHITE KIDS also like JAY-Z, NAS, SNOOP, LIL WAYNE, TUPAC, & BIGGIE, not just 50CENT
Wassup Nevawrong.. I was born in NYC, but i live all over and right now in GA (where the rap scene suffers) and like i said some of their early stuff was hot...allot of hood fellas i knew and grew up with weren't really feeling him. And also with the names you mentioned SOME of those cats( *ahem* wayne) wouldn't be so widespread accepted if MTV and white suburbia hadn't backed them up.
KGR raps sounded so funny. Not his realy rap. but the one on here cus all his swearing was dubbed over with that fart noise. if u wanna know wat he said it was something like
I had this tape yes I said tape back in the day and used to wear it out. G Rap is that dude. This tape also had a song by LL on it called "I be gettin' busy" have not heard it in years. I used to always quote G Rap's lines and Masta Ace's lines from this song.
