  • i love this segemtn you did on ray anthony! i have enjoyed his music since i was 13...but not from his genration..i'm a 30 something and ray and other big band leaders seemed thrilled that somebody my age was interested. i have a treasured autograph photo of him on my walls.

  • @johnswackyworld The Guy from MADMAN should play Ray Anthony in a movie.

  • I danced to Ray Anthony, New Year Eve, 1953, in Fremont, Ohio. Rainbow Gardens.

  • Thanks for your hard work Ira!

  • @saphopoem Thanks

  • CORRECTION!! November 10th, 1956 fell on a SATURDAY, so this excerpt was first broadcast on Friday, November 16, 1956 [Ray's show aired on Friday nights at 10pm(et) over ABC].

  • STilll what is Victor Young noted for? What tunes in this clip were in what film?

  • This particular telecast [November 15, 1956] honored Victor Young after his death the previous Sunday {November 10th}. And yes, Ray Anthony is still alive, in "semi-retirement" thses days....

  • That was cool!

  • Ira you have given me a window to my childhood thankyou!
