  • It's controversial but I personally think this is better than the original. But then again I'm not really a fan of Madonna! Sia all the way :-)

  • I don't think it's the same without the big bass-y strings. They just make the song feel really strong. HAHA IT RHYMED.

  • The songs not ment to be sad the songs about no longer being a victim of abuse, I personaly think it's fitting that the song is happy in a way. It shows that after all of that pain there can be relief and happiness at the end.

  • ffsks....its a COVER it isnt supposed to be the same as maddonnas work. gawdsake....

  • "Quizá Algún Día, Cuando Mire Hacia Atrás

Estaré Disponible De Decir Que Tú No Quisiste Ser Tan Cruel Conmigo

Alguien Te Hirió a Ti También"

  • It sounds like a fucking CARTOON, get real everyone,

  • I think that the two version show different sides to the song. Madonna's is painful and deep, almost mourning. Sia's on the other hand reflects remembrance and a new sense of freedom. Kind of like she's escaped form him and how he made her feel. I like them both.

  • Would love to hear alanis morrissette sing this

  • Not good, this is almost happy! The thing that makes Madonna's version unique is the melancholy and suffering you feel from her voice. Sia's voice may be better, but lacks in the feeling this song should pass.

  • @marcosfelipesena ? It's not happy, it's melancholic. It's just another version. Sia's definitely singing this with feeling and she's phrasing in an excellent way. Her voice is unique and she's a super talented musician.

  • those people who say madonna has mediocre talent are just dillusional and clearly just plainly miss the point or just bitter

  • Good , i liked , but the original ... ha no coments

  • I read that she's gonna work with Madonna, i hope so

  • This is a great cover!

  • nice enough version, but the imperfections and the almost-breaking is what makes madonna's original version so touching and so heartbreaking. it's like this singer hasn't stopped to think what this song is really about.

  • The Madonna version I can connect with on an emotional level, but Sia's vocals are better. Its difficult to not compare. Madonna's fans will love Madonna's versions, and Sia's fans will love this one.

  • i like Sia but this cover ain't got nothing on the original.

  • It's not the same without the low strings

  • Love Sia, but this cover is a miss sorry to say, lacks the haunting emotion of the original and the background sounds are out of place.

  • Sia's voice is breathtaking.

  • I never thought that I would hear a pop version of this song! I don't like it. I really dislike the funky background music (the classical background music was better for this song). Whether you like Madonna's voice or not, she had real emotion and meaning in her voice (something that's lacking in Sia's cover).

  • @tipexboy mine too :D its sad Sia doesn't have a #1 hit yet and shes been in music for 14 years :(

  • I like Sia's better. Madonna gets this weird weepy sound in her voice and that kinda turns me off. lol.

  • jaime beaucoup

  • This isn't as good as Madonna :/

  • I love both versions, but this version of it is just amaaaaaaazing!

  • sound quality is inferior to the CD version... :(

  • Comment removed

  • I prefer Sia´s voice...but both versions are beautiful...

  • This is so fucking good!!!!!!!!! I live both versions

  • sia made this a good song

  • this album is 2 for £10 at hmv uk!!! buy now ;)

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • sorry a little to happy to me

  • I love this version. Madonna's song never really got through to me, but this one aches my heart. I keep thinking of someone who did bad things to me, but as the song says, I got away. I cry every time I listen to this, sad but relieved. I just came here to tell this, that I love this version, and I adore Sia <3

  • I love this, but the live version is much better... I think she lives near my store now. i have seen her in the neighborhood a few times and everytime i feel she knows i am about to throw glitter in the air and go hug her... however i always keep walking.

  • wait, this is a cover of a madonna song? I never knew that, let me look it up.

    ...

UGH! That sucks, sia's is way better

  • i dont like this cover

  • This is one of the songs I can listen...listen...and listen forever.....It is .very .sad song .but is touching your heart regardless of your age.....

  • beautiful song! Both Madonna and Sia's cover are great. like if u agree

  • You have got to be kidding, beautiful voice though.

  • this cover does not even come close to the emotional power of the original

  • Add me to the ones that made her cry. This does not sound good at all. Madonna's version is much more passionate. This is almost laughable.

  • @whimsicalocean well...WHIMSICALOCEAN QUEEN, laughable isn't what this is! this is a rendition done with soul and an updated sound (duh... 2011). If your Madonna purists ass can't come to terms with the fact that this was done in good taste and with your queenmother Madonna's permission then.... oh well...don't listen!

  • @surfnthenet i don't think you should call me a queen, i'm just a man, so i would be king to you.

As for listening to it, i only did once, it was enough. Her voice sounds like she is drowning under water. i am not a purist.

You must be a moron, because the videos are hear for all to listen to discover new things, to like or dislike if it is their desire. Hence the like and dislike buttons above. Then there is a comment box to state your opinions. Get a clue! i am sure they sell it on E-bay.

  • it hurts..

  • Sia's voice does justice to the cover of Madonna's song but the accompaniment in this song doesn't do justice to Sia's beautiful voice.

  • Sia is unstoppable. this song is painful in its truth.

  • GREAT rendition!

  • 11 douchebags made Sia Cry...

  • love this song!

  • LOL I did not know this was a Madonna cover!

  • madonnas version its so dramatic and powerful I love it¡¡ but I do like this version too its a great cover ¡¡¡

  • Now I normally dont like covers.... I do love madonnas version MUCH MUCH more... this one is an awesome cover.

  • Best part is from 0:00 to 4:28.

  • I love her. great cover

  • This is my favorite Madonna song, hands down. Sia's version is lovely too.

  • Beautiful cover. I bet Madge loves this too. Two great artists.

  • Nice having all the Madonna hags coming in here and trashing a newer artist. Let's face it Sia is a way better singer/songwriter then Madonna ever was. Madonna was a great dancer/choreographer but mediocre musical talent.

  • @manco82 Word!

  • @manco82

That would explain why Sia is so 'popular'. "Let's face it", Madonna had mediocre talent, but used it like she had tons of it. She's a music icon, with genius albums[True blue/Like a prayer/Ray of Light]. Once Sia does something that goes to something similar to those albums, you can start saying stuff like that. And no, I am not trashing Sia. I actually enjoy this cover, nothing like the original, but it's really good.

  • @NotYourAverageTurd madonna and 'mediocre talent' are uncompatible things. what would maintain she on her position in the pop industry for such long long years? marketing? come on! in a rough comparison, if a cold coca-cola wasn't..'delicious', marketing would never keep it.

  • this is nice!

This is my first time listening to Sia

and i have to say this is a very nice version of the song

    I bet Madonna is touched!

  • Ok looked it up, madonna's sounds sad while Sia's sounds more like uplifting or something that makes you think. I prefer the way Sia sings it cause she never goes flat, but I still love you Madonna ^_^

  • wtf this doesnt sound like a club song, it sounds awesome, honestly while listening to this, I dont even remember madonna's version. now i gotta go look it up. but she made it her own. pure awesome!

  • To all madonna purists/ divas, please keep your negative comments to yourself. A simple I don't like would do. I am impressed that Madonna let her cover her song. Madonna must like SIA. I DO! Of course she isn't going to sing it exactly like Madonna. That would be lame. SIA is a beautiful soul and is destined for a long and prosperous career.

  • I like this version over Madonnas. Sia blows me away.

  • @JadusPerkins This is weak, souless and totally lacking in raw emotion.

  • @TheGoldStandardBoy Well that's your opinion then. 110 people seem to disagree with you though.

  • @JadusPerkins Well either they are really stupid or on heroin then.

  • Comment removed

  • @JadusPerkins Not as many albums and tours as Madonna though. And never will. And I will listen and criticise it if I feel that a song I like has been butchered. Not that Sia is completely talentless it's just bland compared to the original. I didn't say her voice was weak this just doesn't have any depth to it.

  • @TheGoldStandardBoy and just as you're obviously a madonna fan, there are quite a few people that are sia fans. each to their own :)

  • This is incredible. I prefer this version to Madonna. It definitely has the feel of a girl who escaped an abusive home life. As a survivor of domestic abuse myself, I can definitely relate.

  • She totally ruined the song... :S

  • @rpecanha you are so right , the madonna version is so powerfull , and the vocals are amazing ,and riche and so is the production,

sia made it like an advertisement song for soap .. empty one, and powerless

  • Beautiful voice... Nice cover

  • i know this will piss a lot of people off and i know madonna has devoted fans like no other but sia has a voice like no other human on earth and totally changed this song for the better

  • Interesting cover. First time I've ever heard Sia and I like it!

  • how dare she....

  • @noahsarcooo lmao right dont come for the queen.but although i love this version

  • @Prentice205 she got nerves taking someone elses life story and remake this song...WTF?

what does this have this to do with her beside the fact that she sounds like a sick goat!

what voice? wtf is everyone talking about?

  • @noahsarcooo an irish goat

  • The original is stunning; I'm just confused by this one

  • Oh,Father isn't a fucking club song. What is this shit. Madonna's much better. Sorry. Sia's fine but really. Ew.

  • The melancholy is missing, which is the best part sung beautifully by Madonna.

  • This version is so much better than Madonna's original version. I love her voice and her Australian accent and this version really hits my heart. Sia is amazing, she's the best female vocalist from 2000 ! AMAZING !! <3

  • The lyrics don't ring too true as here sung -- I can' t imagine Sia being filled with guilt and angst before God over having sinned - she seems the type to go through what she wants to, enjoy the happiness & endure the pain, learn whatever lessons there are to learn, and then write a song about it :-)

  • I never liked this song by Madonna. It always made me feel like... something was missing... The emotions seemed wrong and a little... I don't know... insincere or something. But Sia's version is beautiful and perfect to me. Yes, it's more "upbeat" I guess but to me that's what it's about. Breaking free. It's inspiring to me...

  • If anyone had to cover an already beautiful song, I'm glad it was Sia. Her voice does everything for me, even though quite a few people who have commented disagree. Madonna's version is more beautiful, as it is the original and I have yet to hear a cover I like more than the original. But Sia, to me, puts so much meaning in her voice when she sings that I'm still glad she covered this song.

  • in these trying times we need bright nights and neon lights and Sia is it.thank you Sia for turning a melancholic song into a happy one

  • Doesn't work for me. Madonna's version is better. Sia is a great artist but this cover :/

  • i have been a fan of this song since the release of "like a prayer". now hearing it covered this way by Sia. Its almost like they are two completely different songs.. I do agree with some people that madonna's version has a little more power behind it. Don't get me wrong..i think this is a great cover..but i think i like this version and madonna's both..but just in different ways.

  • Sorry but it doesn't work for me. I'm not saying Sia can't sing or anything but her version doesn't bring anything new (and I prefer madonna's emotion) and she even changed (forgot?) some lyrics (especially when she sings live)

  • So fan-tastic. Sia had courage to sign that song. It´s one of the best from Madonna. Congrats.

  • I don't see the point of this cover. I love Sia, but this is not moving at all. It lack emotion and vulnerability that there's on the original.

  • GOOD COVER

  • i like it so much (L)

  • so beautiful that I can hardly go a day without listening and/or singing it! The instrumentation makes me appreciate this version much more than Madonna's. The rhythmic elements spice it up perfectly. THANK YOU SIA!!!

  • Love <3

  • lovely song, but I dont like that picture some reason...

  • @chatmari lol

  • didnt know it was a cover untill now but i think its a rly good one, sia is so happy and peppy so she wont go all sad like madonna's version, i think this ones just good

  • Wow, this is actually my favorite song of all time and i do NOT like this cover. Its like some high school music experiment. The original was so sad and filled with emotion and an untouchable video to match. I like Sia but this she should never have recorded.

  • I have "liked" it a few times.

  • Beautiful song. Very well done.

  • this is absolutely enjoyable. great!

  • perfect!!!!!!)))))))))

  • i like this but maddona had more heart in hers

  • This cover is alright, but Madonna had pain in her version. This cover sounds like Donkey Kong Country. lol

  • @nosferatusbutt HAHAHA! That post is su funny: "Donkey Kong Country"!! x3

  • @nosferatusbutt I'm actually doing a Donkey Kong Country remix right now and came across this and thought... Wow this sounds a lot like my song I am working on... Weird lol...

  • I Love Madonna and I Love Sia. I think both versions are untouchable!

  • @madge555 I agree

  • @madge555 Yeah.. I really can't believe how good this rendition is. Not to be snobbish, but why would anyone usually approve of most Madonna covers/remakes? This one is amazing. Probably every bit just as good.

  • cool! electrifying.

  • she's got a pretty voice but the raw emotion was shown in madonna's original. this sounds like it'd be at the end of a movie. madonna captured the hurt and pain you would feel from abuse by a parent. i think if she changed the background music then it would sound so much stronger and intense like madonna intended for it to be.

  • this shits all over the original!

  • Decent cover...would like to know why she chose this Madonna song....

  • This is a beautiful song. I didn't know it was a Madonna cover, but I like it and I love her new album. Thank you Sia!

  • I love her new album!

  • this is amazing. her voice gives me chills like no other.

    i adore sia. <3

  • @byjo3 Her voice is not that good. It's the song. Patrick Leonard is legend, don't know why he rode Madonna's coattails, allowing her to tag herself as a co-writer. Very likely the only song Madonna ever had a hand in was 'Sorry' and 'I'm So Stupid'. Basically she rhymes "stupid" with "stupid".x

  • perfect!!!all your albums!

  • This is probably the best Oh Father cover ever

  • Gorgeous rendition!

  • stunning. highlights the beauty of the original. i miss vulnerable and sensitive Madonna. i wish she would write and perform songs like this again. a wonderful take, Sia.
