  • THANK YOU! I was having such a hard time holding my yarn the other way. The pinky made a huge difference. :)

  • There is NO right or wrong way to hold your hook or your yarn. As long as you achieve consistent stitches and gauge you will do just fine. Not every is the same and to imply that there is a right or wrong way to crochet is laughable. I've been crocheting for over 10 years and have never found anyone who crochets the exact same way.

  • Good video, but it would be helpful for beginners to clarify that this is not the only way to hold yarn. Some people - like myself - have never been able to comfortably hold yarn around the pinky like that. My stitches end up being way too tight. For any beginners that aren't having any luck with this method, just remember that the key to holding yarn is whatever is most comfortable to you, and in a way that lets the yarn flow easily, and also lets you stop the flow when needed.
