  • people often try so hard to refute these practices afraid to offend because they belive someones practice is the same as their identity or ethnicity or gender. Its not. its just what someone wants to do whether its born or learned they choose to act on their desire. they are not mindless helpless robots. some people want to have sex with the way their body was physically designed for others don't. that simple. one way functions and the other can not. keep it in the bedroom, not in schools.

  • Gay people have the same rights as heterosexual people and the same options. You can separate sexual actions from the person, this is a debate over sexuality which is simply a sexual practice. those in favor of homosexual practices wish their practice to be regarded as equal with the heterosexual practice. But its not nor can it ever be. It is only a delusion. gay sex is not real sex. it is the attempt to imitate real sex with the wrong body parts. They just want people to pretend with them.

  • So now gays have won a victory. They are now able to be openly gay and proud of being gay by hiding behind the heterosexual word marriage. Causing people to assume they are heterosexual because they have a heterosexual title. Hypocrisy and irony go hand in hand. It was never about legal rights but rather the name.

  • Gay Marriage passes in NY!!! Equality always wins!!!

  • bla bla bla gay haircut!

  • What exactly is wrong with civil unions? I'm fine with natural human rights. One natural right I have with my wife is the ability to have children. Until the day comes when two gay males or females have the ability to naturally conceive children, one with another, without the use of medical science, I wont agree with gay marriage.

  • Comment removed

  • marriage is a civil union but is a different name when opposite genders involved. the only difference is the name because they are physically different. men and women are both people but men are called men and women are called women.

  • A seperate but equal civil union is just an attempt at pleasing gays and homophobes at the same time. It still holds homophobic attitudes.

  • heterosexual intercourse is exclusively the foundation of humanity. upon such was designed the institution of marriage to sanctify and honor that function, with birth right and title. The reluctance is in offically redefining marriage to a mere gesture of love, simply because many heterosexuals done such and have deviated from its original purpose. original marriage has been abused in

many fashions by those of no respect for it. so because many don't respect the laws we should rid them?

  • OF course I mean dard 1313

  • a black person can not choose to conduct an action that is not going to make him distinctly a black person performing an action. A gay person makes a chose to act upon his desire which makes him meet the criteria of his classification.

case and point a black man sitting in a white table disqualifies him for sitting at a white table. a gay person sitting at a heterosexual table does not disqualify him until he performs an act of homosexuality.

  • This Gentleman has some good points.

  • what makes a person gay is a lifestyle. its what they "want to do" just like heterosexuals want to have heterosexual relations. Just like religions want to practice certain things.

the law does not accomadate the desire of substandard practices. nudists desire to be nude regardless of choice or innate birth, its a desire to breach standard.

Being black is a state of being without action.

what makes a person black is not a lifestyle, its "not what they want to do"

  • Poor analogy.

It isn't equal when person X can't enter premise A when person Y can. It was these unequal rights that caused the segregation.

Therefore Jim crow laws were never "separate but equal", it was separate and still unequal.

You're comparing physical entities like fountains or institutions to abstract and non-physical entities like names and labels.

Apples and oranges, it just doesn't work.

  • Good point, well lets try another way.

Lifestyle Minority Groups (religeous, homosexual, nudists, nationality) get certain rights but only if they conform to the standard of the practice offered.

minority groups that are non lifestyle (gender, race, disability) are given equal rights.

if a religious person whose religion permits multiple partners they are denied equal practice of religion in full since it surpasses the standard of practice that is offered.

  • Homosexuals are not being discriminated against but rather homosexuality is. The act of Homosexuality is not a race but a practice. Homosexuality is not recognized as equal to heterosexuality since it is not equal and can only be compared to dysfunctional heterosexuality where sexual organs are damaged or disabled. When an attempt is made to form an argument to officially endorse incorrect function by malfunction, red flags and eye brows should go up.

  • discrimination in regards to gay marriage can not be compared to black and white seperate but equal. its not the same as saying whites can drink here but blacks can not, both hetero and homo can drink here if you use your mouth and not your anus. But the homos say they want to drink with their anus because they are born that way. by denying them this is not discriminating because the heteros are also prevented from drinking with their anus.

  • Skin color and other genetic traits can be traced through inheritance patterns and simple Mendelian genetics. Homosexuals are identified not by a trait or a gene, but rather by their actions. Without the action, they would be indistinguishable from all other people. It is only when they alter their behavior that they become a group that is recognized as being different.

  • In other words its not discrimination

because heterosexuals can not get married to the same gender either.

the homosexual is accepted as far as civil rights but the act of homosexuality is not allowed civil rights.

  • Blacks like our "uppity" Groudie here, whom I call not only a big black joke but "ahistorical", of a race that has tasted the whip of discrimination, and licked mud off the boots of their white masters for centuries, who then turn around and discriminate against others using a white man's religion to elevate his own self esteem, deserves our greatest scorn. Please let's all take a collective shit on his page!

  • To be honest, I think Obama supports gay marriage, and always has done. But in his campaign, he cleverly toed the line between Christians and the gay community, so as not to offend either party. It's sad but true that it's difficult to win a US election and also be openly in favour of gay marriage. Hopefully this will change soon, but until then, no election candidate will openly admit to supporting gay marriage.

  • i 10000000% agree

  • these two examples are completely incompatable and you are being intellectually dishonest.Someone's skin color is different to someone's sexual orientation. This is like comparing an apple with a carrot.

  • you moron, discrimination is discrimination. you must be a white heterosexual with your knapsack of unearned privileges...

  • It shows just how you think.I am a "BLACK" person.Afro-Caribbean to be exact.Look at my videos.Ofcourse you have yet to give me a good reason why.Note I said Good.I can use dicrimination to argue many thing good or bad.I thought we got over this play ground liberal metality when we left school. The only way people like you know how to argue is to call people names liek homophobe and stupid and facist and the list goes on.

  • then you are worse than I thought, why would I go onto the video page of a racial minority who turns around and discriminates against others? i thought you were a rat but you are a maggot on a rat, "That's not name-callin' that the truth!"

  • Yes yes,so is this the face of the tolerant left and "progessives"? Ofcourse I'm use to this childish way of doing things. If my having believing that marriage is between a man and a woman makes me discriminatory then fine :) I never cared for name calling in the play ground and I don't care about it now. However if you think you can scare me off with words like homophobe,bigot,anti-gay then you got another thing coming. The last thing I'll be doing is shutting up :)

  • No one will have to shut you up, you maggots die out in good time, when their pile of shit gets crusty, leave the putrid mess to stink for a while, it'll eventually rot away by itself. I shit on you from a great white, gay height

  • and you'll never out-Catholic me, I'm Irish Catholic man, my lily-white family has been Catholic since St. Patrick. You black Uncle Tom loser! You wanna kiss a white man's ass? OK, buddy, kiss mine!

  • you smart cookie...totally agreee

  • I am praying for the gay community, that they will turn away from their sin and live a more abundant and beautiful life.

gay marriage is wrong, and always will be wrong :)

  • I pray you have a gay family member or relative....so they can open your eyes.

  • what does a gay family member have ANYTHING to do with it being right or wrong?

sure, if I had a family member on heavy drugs would that open my eyes and make it right?

I'm not going to judge anyone, but my friend.. the bible does say homosexual orientation is wrong and they will not enter into heaven..

I don't hate the homosexuals, I just don't agree with it... and neither does Jesus

  • Good thing Jesus is only human and can make mistakes.

  • btw the bible doesnt say Jesus disagree's with it....the bible says god disagrees with it. A long with working on sundays and adultery ( both punishable by death)

  • jesus was gay himself

  • Obama is in support for gay marriage as he voted in 2004 in Illinois for it, but he backed away from it as a strategical move to win presidency. It worked.

  • outstanding point!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Because he does not believe sexual orientation is the same as RACE.

He said sexual orientation is a RIGHT,,, it's just LESS of a RIGHT than race is.

Thus they are seperate. And if society gives or takes rights away from

    gays

    incests

    polygmists

    bestials

    pedophiles

    So be it.

  • He has stated that he agrees with all aspects of legality for the rights of gays to enjoy the aspects such as filing taxes jointly, hospital rights and passing on property but he has said he will do that part and its up the the several churches to call it marriage or not. Just because he is the president doesnt mean he can regulate what the churches view. He believes gays should have all rights having to do with marriage but he has no authority to call it marriage, the churches do.

  • That's an excellent argument and you represent the rising generation who will make the final changes needed. I know that Barack will not stand in your way either. He has been vocal about his support on No on prop8 so that says a lot too.

  • i would vote Independant is an Independant was running.

  • being that neither mccain or obama support gay marriages, i suggest that you vote for mccain, being that the country would prosper more with him as president. if obama is elected, america will become communist [eventually, if not now], and everything that we've worked for in our american dreams will be worthless.

  • obama is crap all he is goin to do is destroy are country and u gays should not have the right to get married its wrong and discusting

  • You have no trouble taking my tax dollars. Does this mean that If I can't have equal rights under the law, I should be able to pay less taxes? Perhaps my tax dollars are too disgusting to make sure your children get an education, or pay for your rads to be fixed. Maybe my money isn't good enough to to care for you when you are in a nursing home when you need it.

  • Take your homophobia elsewhere. Its none of your business. It may be wrong and disgusting to you but for them its not. You must respect that not everyone has the same religious beliefs hence the separation of church and state

  • I just have to make a comment here. I have always known I was gay, and have always been out. I remember asking this question of my teachers, and being met with an intense pause. This guy really took the time to phrase a question worthy of Thomas Jefferson, and Thurgood Marshall. The phrasing of the query, combined with the delivery are a perfect constitutional argument. In all honesty, the civil rights laws for equality, should in spirit of the law, apply to ALL minorities.

  • you are not born gay get it straight!

  • so you were born straight, or was it a choice, much as you suggest to me? I have never been hetero, even when my parents tried to get me to date girls. I am not now, nor have I ever been hetero. I wasn't abused or seduced. I just simply am gay. Just like you are just simply hetero. You should really do your research before making such comments. Taking the word of your pastor, or peers doesn't constitute absolute truth. There is valid and proven research that confirms it.

  • I disagree. Even if someone chooses to be gay, why do you care? It doesnt affect your daily life.

  • Human Rights Campaign kicks out the transgendered community and gives money to the conservative right, thats a whole lot more hatefull and backward than civil rights for sexual minorities. google that shit, find out for yourself.

  • Use common sense people and stop waiting for someone to GIVE us rights. The question should be can the lgbt community move closer to marriage equality under Obama or under McCain.

This selfish "we want things EXACTLY our way without working to get to that level" is going to hurt us.

  • Why do so many people seem to pick their candidate based completely on one issue?

  • Well, it's better then what McCain thinks. Civil unions are better then nothing.

  • true but there are some benifents that are not included IOW just like one of "the 12 paines of christmas" *batteries not included*.

  • SO WHO ARE YOU VOTING FOR?

Mccain don`t tolerate even gay relationships

OBAMA tolerates to a civil union extend

this is my question to you sir

JUST answer in one word OBAMA/McCain

McCain is past retirement age so remember Palin will takeover asap

  • NONE

  • why?

  • Neither one (or any, for that matter) have convinced me to vote for them, and I wouldn't vote just for the sake of voting.

  • @JakespeareStudios

FACT: Evolution is only possible with HETEROSEXUAL relationships.

FACT: Monogamy is a meme of religious tyranny.

  • hahaha XDD

  • It's true, I don't have a soul. Who snitched?!

  • the bible snitched.

  • Thank God, at least it wasn't a reliable source!

  • like i said, no soul.

  • Well, if I'd had a soul of my own I wouldn't have to seduce good ol' religious folk and lead them down the sinful path of debauchery just for the sake of eating their souls to fill the void, so you can't really blame me, I'm the victim here.

  • Thats very open minded of you...

  • Obama gives a "political" answer to this question. I understand the need for pragmatics during a political campaign, especially one as critically important as this one. However, it is bothersome when someone, particularly a member of a racial minority group, fails to equate the importance of the African American civil rights movement with the gay rights movement. Equality is equality. I support Obama & sympathize with his urge to avoid this wedge issue, but we can't dodge this forever.

  • Hillary supports this same wrong ideology. They both support gay marriage, however openly saying so would equal a Mccain victory. This is going to take time. Obama is the best we have. He does support the total repeal of the federal DOMA. Hillary did not. So its not like Hillary was the gay savior, she was far from it. Obama was much better. He also won the majority of the vote in San Fran, Seattle, and Atlanta. All major gay areas. We must support him!!

  • Well, if he really does think that gay marriage should be supported then it's obvious that becoming president is more important to him than gay peoples' rights. Doesn't matter if he's better than the other two, if you wanna support someone who doesn't have the balls to say what even he thinks is right, then go ahead.

  • This is very different from the Jim Crowe type of seperate but equal. In Jim Crowe, blacks did not get the same rights as whites, in fact whites were superior. In Obama's gay marriage issue, it is only a different name. Gays will have the same exact rights under the LAW and calls the legal union a Civil Union. A marriage is a religious institution recognized by a religion under GOD. If you want a marriage, you need to find a church that will recognize your union under GOD.

  • not true. have you not heard of having a civil ceremony? being married is a legal agreement in the United States, not a religious one. you don't need to be religious to get a marriage license.

  • You mean like one of those Las Vegas weddings where you pay $25 and your married and the next day you get an annulment because you realize "I think I drunk too much, who in the fuck are you?"

Just kidding. Yeah, I know what you are talking about. But I am just saying that whether you can call it marriage or you can call it civil union or whatever, I just don't see the problem with Obama's position on the issue. Both will have equal rights.

  • no, I mean you can go down to a courthouse and get married. a church is not required. gays are not asking for the right to be married under a certain religion. gays do not have the same rights. one example is that heterosexual couples are more favorable to adoption agencies. "don't ask, don't tell" is another.

I'm not gay, so why should I care? I'm empathetic.

  • That is like saying both back in the day both "colored" and "white" drinking fountains had the same water, no big deal, right? If you can't see the problem then you don't understand the question.

  • Nooo, what you are doing is taking my words out of context...

  • umm...Obama supports the civil rights of gays but he doesn't support gay marriage nor should he. Marriage is supposed to be between a man and a women for numerous reasons. A man and another man CAN NOT produce a child together, nor can a women with another women. To many ALL ACROSS THE WORLD gay marriage is NOT a good thing but civil people can be empathetic and that is what Obama's trying to be here. You cannot compare this to Jim Crowe because Jim Crowe left blacks with NO rights at all.

  • One day you will be looked upon as Strom Thurmond and other racists are looked on today. (and you'd better make sure anyone getting married is not only of the opposite sex, but that they aren't barren -- because that would be against marriage, right?)

  • So straight couples cant produce a child and use the same methods that gay partners use to have children. Should those kind of straight relationships not be allowed to web? that is ridiculous.

  • We have NO evidence that Obama has risked AIDS (i.e - that he is gay). (When Obama was 2 years old, his parents divorced, and his father returned to Kenya.) Obama is in excellent health - He often jogs three miles and has no "excess" body fat. He has a healthy blood pressure of 90 over 60, low cholesterol and a strong heart.

  • Excellent point. I live in Chicago and know about Obama. He learned early on how to skirt issues and work them to his advantage. The whole country is crazy about him, but they don't seem to be viewing him critically.

  • You know, I am so there, people are so for him, and I just can't seem to get there. I don't hear anything from him which says, "He should be President!" And honestly, right now, I am torn between him an McCain. Obviously gay marriage is not at the top of my list, but it would be a nice plus, because I know how important it is to so many people, even though I am too bitter about the whole situation to even think about marriage in the U.S. for myself.

  • Agreed, but...

Everyone should just have a civil union, b/c that's about the legal benefits, and then, if you want to have a religious marriage, then you can go get that too. Civil unions should be done by the gov't and marriages should be done by religion. And that's for everyone, not just gay ppl. We need to keep church and state separate like it says in our constitution.

  • Oh, and I think if you want to have a religious marriage, you should be able to do that too if you're gay. It just shouldn't have anything to do w/ the gov't, b/c they are supposed to be separate. Just to clarify my position on the issue... I'm bisexual, so yeah.

  • I agree with you. The one thing about religions is that not all the churches accept Gay Marriage. Obama's denomination and church does. Unitarian Universalism does. Now if you try to go to a Catholic church, you might as well turn right back around and find another church.

If your church does not want to accept your marriage than that if between you and the church, not the government.

  • its like giving a wedding cake to straight couples and a cupcake to gay couples.

  • YOU ROCK! <3

  • I agree completely. Obama seems to believe that him being African-American means he understands the problems facing minorities or even how it feels to be in a minority. I doubt that he has truly grown up facing purposeful discrimination, the way that LGBT people have. This doesn't mean I am in any way dismissing the problem of racial discrimination. I'm just asking how separate but equal can possibly be fair in a country that claims that all man are equal. Not all straight man, but all man.

  • I agree.. but Everyone misses the real point.... The Federal government should not be involved in our personal lives or what has historically been a religious ceremony.... We don't need a Big Brother's approval to live and function with whichever sex we want.. and besides.. we can NOT legislate Morality.

  • Whoa...! Excellent!

  • sorry, from your comments it seems you're having a debate so i hope my little comment doesn't impose, but i just wanna say how brilliant your video is.

  • Hey I said my piece many comments ago so thanks for the compliment. Much appreciated!

  • Mike Gravel, the libertarian candidate is the best on the issue. Or maybe on every issue.

  • Fair enough. But NB Obama supports complete repeal of DOMA, whereas HRC only supports repeal of section 3: of the two, Obama is marginally the more progressive candidate on this issue.

  • Obama wants to destroy the fabric of families. I think these people should be entitled to have benefits from their, hahahha, lovers, hahah or whatever they are. But not federal. The people have spoke. They refuse to support gay marriage, but the gay community wants to tell the general public to shut up and support our twisted lifestyle. They want to force moral people to support their cause! If these people want benefits, why don't they form a group. They should NOT be aloud to adopot kids

  • in the 60's there were still laws that did not allow mixed marriages in a lot of states. How would it had turned out if people could vote on that? I will tell you, people of mixed marriages would not exist. when it comes to basic rights for people that should not be up for a vote. most people like the the omgstupidlag dork would have to vote. and I personally would hate a primitive, redneck like him making decisions for me.

  • At least in VT, "marriage" and "civil union" are NOT the same thing. The state's website states that only same-sex couples can have a CU. That contradicts statements on here that ALL couples have CUs, while "marriage" is only a religious institution. In the case of VT, both CUs and "marriages" have equal legal consequences. For me, if it comes down to the CU having inferior rights and responsibilities than "marriage"; I would have to vote for same-sex "marriage."

  • obama can fuck off. that cunt isnt getting my vote

  • shut up!

    You can fuck off,

Go fuck urself and get aids and die!

go in the war and get shot and die also! you know nothing about him, and if you hate him so much why are you watching this?!

  • Well it seems to me that you know SO much about him. I can not wait to hear why!

  • you dont know shit about him either. no one does. and there lies the problem herein

  • herein??...

  • o wait.. i see

  • Right On!

    Good Question.

  • EXCELLENT POINT "JakeSpeareStudios"!!!! Very well put too! Great vid. post! Thanks for speaking out on this matter... it's SOOO true! Hypocritical of him to think that way!

  • Shut up and go vote for Hillary in PA. You CLEARLY have no objectivity on this matter. If you did your research, you would find that Obama's viewpoint is more progressive than HIllary's. So maybe we should revisit gay marriage and sufferage? Why is Obama the only one on the hook for this when most candidates are against same-sex MARRIAGES? And only a white person would pose this question or sympathize with this viewpoint.

  • SHUT UP?!? SHUT UP?!?!? No, YOU shut up "fooloof"! I DO my research, and because I do my research, I will NOT be voting for Clinton, Obama, or McCain thank you very much! Don't attack me or my objectivity as you do not know me! I will be voting for Ron Paul, and if YOU'D do YOUR research, you'd also know he is for the government not digging their hands into it. Ron Paul (not just in this way), is an EXCELLENT candidate for my country in '08 regardless if you agree with me or not!!!!

  • Calm down. Who cares about Ron Paul? I'm addressing your statement that Obama is a hypocrite because, as a black man, he is for civil unions instead of gay marriage. You agree with the Segregation comparison. I am telling you, again, to SHUT UP, because you obviously know nothing about that period our country's history.

  • Obama copyied a lot of what Hillary has said all of these years and fought for with Gay Rights!! The only difference is Hillary has marched in the streets with us time and time again and given moving speeches in the Senate for Equal and Gay Freedoms and Rights and Obama has NOT!!! Obama has NEVER marched in the streets with us and he has NEVER stood in the senate for us!!!

  • like he is going to answer that..

  • At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize.

On the evening of April 4, 1968, while standing on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was to lead a protest march in sympathy with striking garbage workers of that city, he was assassinated. Who killed him? YES WE CAN...

  • Good point, but he didn't say he wasn't for gay marriage. Civil union is the only thing he can control because marriage is a religious institution and only the churches can decide what they consider marriage. In fact, his church was the first to ordain an African-American pastor (1785), first to ordain a woman (1853), first to ordain an openly gay man (1972), and the first to support same-gender marriage equality (2005).

  • Obama has stated that he's against gay marriages since he's "a christian and believes marriage is an institution of a man and a woman". But I guess no one should take his words that seriously since he keeps flipflopping about NAFTA, Iraq etc and has been caught on his several lies about his pastor, Antoin Rezko, Nafta, Ayers, PLO, the list goes on. He's an opportunist who's trying to please all possible groups by giving as neutral answers as possible. And it's working very well.

  • Wow, I could not agree more. This man, if anybody has done any REAL research, will find this man is anti family, american and morals. He feels that america is a symbol of morals and as long as people have morals, people like gays will not beable to do what they want. Those people can do what they want, but not at the exspence of the tax payers and innocent children they want by defying their own bodies! Obama will tell people anything they want to hear to get that vote.

  • Innocent children? You're acting like adoption is a felony. Adoption is a good thing.

  • No "thethespian12", marriage is NOT only a "religious institution"! Heterosexual people don't have to get married in a church! They can get married by a Justice of the Peace as well! So why is it that gays have to all of the sudden have the churches approval? He is trying to pawn it off on religion because he doesn't want to have to deal with the issue and have to deal with his religion at the same time.

  • 0oh and by the way, im straight. I just dont give a fuck what others wanna do in the bedroom, and if they wanna marry, let them! they are in love who the fuck cares.

its the 21st century, times are changing!

  • whats wrong with being gay? it deffinitely should not affect you in any way, unless you enjoy meddling in other people's business.

we should be free to do whatever the fuck we want unless it harms others, in this case it doesnt. so fuck off!

  • One way it effects people is that they want to defy their bodies and adopt children. See, that is the problem. People like you feel that people should do whatever they want! This country was not built on attitudes like yours. Tell me, if there was one man and one women left on earth and they were gay, what do you think would happen?

  • Just because they're gay doesn't mean they can't have sex. They don't have to like it. I'm sure they'd be willing to take one for the team. heh. Now, let's suppose that the disease that wiped out everyone made the remaining man and woman sterile. NOw that's a bigger problem.

  • ahaha okay, well thats the thing,, there ISNT one man and one woman on earth. there are billions.. do you know how many children in the WORLD are given up for adoption? and most straight men and women want to have their own. For those that cannot, they have the option of adopting. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, in fact, humans that adopt are more likely to be amazing parents because they, unlike many parents, are actually ready and WANT the responsibility.

    nuff said!

  • As long as people have other options other than responsible ones, they learn the do not have to be responsible. When I was growing up everyone knew that STDs, aids, pregnancy ect...ect... kept people inline especailly girls because they did not want any of that. Then they learned about B.Control and condoms and started to be less responsible. If they got prenant, no big deal, just murder it. Give it up for adoption. There is no responsiblity because there are options to clean up the mess.

  • i think they would bump uglies

  • What a great Question! Just like history has proven, perhaps we should let blacks and whites to travel on the same bus "equally"... but have seperated sections marked "no blacks past this point". Keep the seperate but equal policy right? There is NO equality with seperation. Perhaps that is something Obama needs to remember when chatting to his Grandparents.. I'm sure they remember their days of "equality" just like it was yesterday.

  • holy shit. i randomly typed in obama and clicked ur video and your from my damn home town puyallup wa. wierd shit but fu3k gays lol

  • good point :]

    great little vid. :]

  • BTW, I don't understand why this is addressed to Obama. He actually has a more progressive view on the subject than Hillary. Her husband signed the DOMA, which is an act whose practical outcome, prohibits same-sex marriages. Obama wants a full repeal of the law, while Hillary only wants a partial repeal. Don't believe me? Research it.

  • I had Obama on my mind at the time, so i addressed it to him. That's all, heh.

  • You're correct fooloof. Barack Obama actually does have a more progressive view on this subject than Hillary. Obama wants FULL repeal of the DOMA (Defense Of Marriage Act) while Hillary only wants a PARTIAL repeal. That's just ANOTHER reason why I'm voted for Barack and will vote again for him in November. Hillary is not the leader of the gay parade, folks!

  • And you deny that Gays and Lesbians have not been beaten up and murdered just for being gay? That is rediculous. Shame on you. I was born gay you moron, just like you were born black. Tradition has nothing to do with how we all are born.

  • Hey DUMBASS, go to college and learn before you spout ignorance here! Homosexuality IS NORMAL, it exists in over 200 animal species! It a natural variation, not a "choice" or "lifestyle". Are you going to say gay chimps are "choosing" a "lifestyle"? LOL! Both Gays & Straights put the same thing into the American system, that being TAXES, yet only straights can marry, and give their partners social security and health benefits, so you tell me whose getting special treatment?! It's NOT the gays!!

  • As has already been stated, there is a long history of gays and lesbians being beaten and murdered because they were homosexual.

And how is being gay scientifically wrong? Isn't that statement in itself an oxymoron?

And the EXTRA right of being married? What happened to the pursuit of happiness? The fundamental basis of this country's principals is freedom for everyone to find happiness and prosper.

  • PS-No one is minimizing the importance of black history by comparing it to the current issue. They're just making the connection based on the fact that discrimination and bigotry were the main players in both civil rights battles. No one who was against civil rights in the mid 20th century had any sound, rational support behind their beliefs, and the same can be said for those who oppose gay marriage.

  • I was born gay. Get it right you idiot. Do your research and figure it out for yourself.

  • GAY PRIDE!!!

  • you were born gay?????? how is one born gay???? please tell me how this happens? Or is it a choice? I believe it is a choice to be a peter puffer or a fudge packer. ITS ADAM AND EVE NOT adam and steve

  • You are a bit misinformed: it's not Adam and Eve, it's Australopithecus.

  • LoL watch out freak there may be a BIG BANG behind you lol come on If evelotion is correct why is it not still happening duh.... I have yet to see a primate come up to me and shake my hand and say good morning sir, how is your day? did you know that most ppl who actually study evelution believe that the chances of it happeining are about 1 in 13,000,000,000,000 that is not a bet I am willing to take lol

  • 2 kardiackid30

"there may be a BIG BANG behind you"

Yes, there is. The Big Bang is not just behind me, it is approximately 46 billion ly away from me in ANY direction.

"If evelotion is correct why is it not still happening"

There's no such thing as "evelotion". As for Evolution, it never ceased existing, or as you put it "happening". Although I understand that ignorant people don't know that. Therefore they are called ignorant.

  • 2 kardiackid30

"did you know that most ppl who actually study evelution believe..."

I know that before ever one starts talking about Evolution, one should at least learn how to spell the word correctly, to say nothing of understanding the meaning of this word.

  • hahahahahaha! it IS still happening. evolution doesn't mean one individual animal just becomes something else in a single life time. Even if the theory isn't true... you obviously don't know much about what it states.

  • ur born gay my friend is gay and he says he usto pray to go hoping he wasnt gay but ur born with it

  • Of course people are born gay, who would choose to be gay and be the brunt of all the homophobia. I am yet to meet a gay man who hasnt ever wished he was straight. If it were a choice im sure they would go with the majority

  • is it really "your friend"... come on stand up... be proud

  • what is that supose to mean huh?

  • well lol like im not gay but its not peoples Fault they R aThey Went thru Trama soo Blame those rapists

  • im not gay but rock on:D we all people

  • gay marriage, civil unions it's the same thing. We as gay people need to be concerned with our civil human rights. Obama states that gays and lesbians in relationships deserve to have the same protection under the law that heterosexual couples have. The right for hospital visitation, property, etc. Marriage is a euphemism for civil unions. So.. don't get hung up on the word 'marriage'

Civil unions are what we need and want. Separation of church and state!!!

  • wow! couldn't have said it better myself, though I tried lol kudos! I am a lesbian and I am voting for Obama 2008!

  • I can see why you would vote for him. Your own little corner of the world is all that matters. If you truly knew his voting record and had any morals you would never vote for him!! But like I said all you care about is your own little corner so you can careless about the rest of the world!

  • As far as I'm concerned the governent should have no say in marriages. No tax breaks for married couples. None of that crap.

A marriage should be (as far as I'm concerned) between 2 people who care for eachother, and with the blessing of whatever religion they follow.

  • SHUT UP YOU FAG!

  • Yeah, thanks for showing how smart you are, your tolerance, your understanding of the U.S. Constitution, your respect for other U.S. citizens, and all that. Part of the reason that many Churches and straight non religious people are tired of the "culture wars" is that they keep getting stuck with people like you on their side. That is coming to and end, IMHO.

  • Ha ha.. It is statistically known that the most homophobic people are the ones whom have deep homosexual thoughts themselves.

With that said, You will be receiving you homosexual member card and fun pack in the mail shortly. Welcome to the club!

  • Thank you. We sometimes hate in others what is closest to us in our hearts...

  • Jews can't get married in a Catholic Church, Baptists can't get married in a Synagogue, and not many Muslims nor Buddhists are keen on getting married in an Mormon Church. But ALL NEED documents from City Hall, that's Civil Unions, the source of legal rights, EXCEPT homosexual couples, who can't get rights. Civil Rights = Civil Unions, It's about Separation of Church & State, equality under the law & getting bogged down by the word "marriage" is a Religious Right Frame, why is this hard to get?

  • At least someone gets it. Thank you.

  • No problem, many are getting it, up and down this thread and many at the voting booth. Thank you!

  • I will answer this one for Obama.

Marriage is a religious institution. He can not tell a religious group what to believe but he can help pass laws that allow civil unions (which gives same sex couples the same "protection", tax laws, and insurance rights, as hetero couples,) through the government.

If same sex couples wish to get "married" all they need to do is find a religion that supports it once the civil union laws are in place.

  • the JESUSMCC CHURCHES DOES SO YOU ARE FAR FAR BEHIND

  • Obama is incorrect. Marriage is not a religious institution. He assumes that gay people are not religious. My Reverend would be more than happy to perform a gay marriage ceremony. And then to contradict yourself by saying that all we need to do is "find a religion that supports it" is absurd;it reveals the true agenda of civil unions: separate but equal i.e. Apartheid mentality. In South Africa, this is understood; why not in the USA? It's very simple.

  • Wow talk about some blinders. I don't even believe you are gay. Your a rabble rouser who just wants to hate on someone. Comparing Apartheid with civil unions is the equivilant of calling someone a Nazi just because they don't agree with you.

    Your debate skills need work.

To say I contradict myself when there is no contradiction whatsoever in my statement is pure comedy.

The problem is people not seperating church and state. Just like the current administration.

  • Saladarmy, Question: So if 2 guys, who are not members of your church, maybe perhaps Jewish or Pagan or whatever, want to get married, can they? Can't they just go to city hall and get the documents and then do their ceremony how they want, without going to your church? Oh, they can't. It's not Church, it's the State that (does not) grant (equal) legal rights that come with a marriage license, before they even go to any church at all. Make sense? BTW, bless your union, hope you two are happy.

  • Marriage IS a religious institution, according to the majority of people in most popular religions. Now I'm not religious, but this is a matter of fact. I think gay/bi,etc. and straight folks should have EQUAL legal rights as domestic partners, and right now gay folks don't. And I advocate for their rights.
