So lets stop flying all together because in 70 years, 70 000 people have died. If you look at that, thats not a lot? Compared to the billions of people that fly every. A millions a month, if not a day. Flying is essential, and like everything else, there are dangers. You should try to look at all angles before making an quick video like this.
If arabs were trained to drive these military jets 1 arab plane would annihilate 100 american 40+ years experience in driving because arabs are genetically smarter
Ya air might be the safest way to travel, but unlike a car crash if you go down there is a 96% chance you will die a painful and excruciating death. :) But don't worry, you still have a 1% chance of survival and a 99% chance of being a cripple for the rest of you'r life :P
@2:10 I don't call that a crash. that's a good landing! A good landing is one you can walk off of. A perfect landing is one where you and the aircraft can walk off of :)
40,000 people die in a car accident every year in the U.S alone! Air is still by far the safest way to travel. And if you disagree take initiative and do something about it. Don't sit there and say it's someone else's job.
@Activisionpublishing No, the V-22 Tilt-rotor Osprey was actually coinceded from layout designs from Halo, the original design was 4 rotors, but when the game Halo: Reach came out the developers had made a perfect digital blueprint that the US Government used to create more stable flight, they then added the tilt function to speed up the craft, but original design was around 1997, this was from 2011.
Helicopters are notoriously dangerous; military aircraft are built with state-of-the-art technology and have (and need!) the most highly trained pilots in the world flying them. The crash rates for civilian aircraft are so miniscule as to be almost nil, and measures are taken and updated every year to lower that number.
Concorde only stopped flying because BA and Air France realized those flights weren't making much money... also that was the ONLY crash of a concorde in 25 years of flying
@1pnoe Not really, when single average person dies normal way media does of course not write about it, but when plane crashes its surely noted all around the world by many people.

The B52 pilot was very well known in his day for doing hard turns in B52 that require about 4000 feet in vertical to be possible. On that day he flew too low but those that knew him were not the least surprised that he did that.
I know that this has been said tousands of time, but I will say it again: "Statisticly, the most dangerous thing out flying today is the drive to the Airport.
Please bear in mind, Concorde was known as "The safest Aircraft on earth" yet that still crashed. Titanic was known as "The unsinkable" And that still sunk. So every time you travel, just don't worry about the risks you run, theres more chance of a car bashing into your living room than Flying and sailing.
@TheElliotProduction1 concord only crashed because a mechanic didnt do his job right and a peice fell of the aircraft that took of befor concord. was never concords fault by no means
@CHONGER4200 Actually it wasnt mechanic fault, that part was not certified to be used with that aircraft but something like cheap copy, I would blame airline for getting bad parts.
Anyways its still Concordes fault as one piece of metal should not make any airplane to crash. If that part had hit to some traditional passenger jet it would not have caused disaster, but Concorde has its own weakspots in its design, including this.
2:04 That feels helpless not being able to do something at that time ... Peace in the tomb of the passengers and crew ... May God rest his holy glory.
@DaveSull1994 Yes it was not but the scary thing is that the 747-400 landed one landing gear its like holding 800.000 pounds one one side of your body and try to land on both feet does it make sense? no because you'll be shiffted so that is why its dangerous but thank god Boeing made one landing gear able to handle all the weight of the aircraft phew!
"We must make our governments make air travel safer..." What a load of nonsense! What next? Call on the governments to make toilet paper softer so it doesn't hurt your ass when you're wiping it?!! Get real!
@jacsbox619 the crash at 1:58 of the air france plane was NOT a test flight & it had 2 pilots 4 other crew 130 passengers on board. 3 died. june 26 1988 HAbsheim france. air france 296. google it
Flying is incredibly safe and even the plane that landed in the ocean (Ethopia airlines 409 - Air crash investigation. Just you tube it) has survivors thanks to the captain and 1st officer who managed to land it and somehow survived. Think how many 737s take off each day and how every single one lands safely.
You say flying needs to be safer? Okay, you say over 40 accidents happen every year. But you forgot to compare that to the 1.5 billion flights there are in that period of time. You didn't say anything about making driving safer, and everybody has a %30 of being in a serious car accident.

This is so pedantic, air travel is extremely safe, and your video illustrates that point. The VAST majority of incidents shown in your compilation are either military aircraft or airshow incidents. Obviously flying in the military is going to be more hazardous than civilian air travel, the passenger jet cartwheeling into the ocean was a hijack situation and had nothing to do with the safety of the aircraft. Civilian and commercial air travel is safer now than ever.
@mactrekr Agreed. Air travel is proven to be the least hazardous way of travel. The chances of dying in a plane crash are 52.6 billion to 1, whereas your chances of ding in a car crash is 9.8 billion to 1. I'm not a mathematician, but this seems kind of one sided. many of the scenarios that were shown involved pilot error in which he (the pilot) misjudged distances. The segment that began at 1:01 is actually a marvelous feat of engineering., one landing pad gear one the full weght of a 747.
the footage at 1:00 was one of the most spectacular crosswind landings ever caught on camera... using this in a crash compilation was a little misleading no? if every pilot could approach the hong kong airport sideways in 30 mph winds shit like buffalo would never have happened
I don't get the point of this. Most of these are experimental trials or stunts gone wrong and the rest are successful landings despite mechanical failures.
@hiphoppop8 That's what I thought too.. But luckily (more or less) only 3 out of the 136 people died. I don't know how that's possible though, maybe the wing fell off and exploded away from the fuselage.
Allright, how many people dies on roads every year? Flying is more than many times safer than driving (or being a passenger) a surface vehicle. Don't you think on-road transport needs to be made safer?
@ZHAUSQ Thank god ! I was sooo going to ask what hapenned at 1:50 ! Imagine getting out in the fired tropical forest or something.... geez. No more autopilot kkthx
Flying is inherently dangerous. Nobody wants it to be unsafe and regulatory agency's are doing the BEST they can to make a very dangerous activity as SAFE as it can possibly be. You're the same type of person that would complain about the strip searches in airports. Nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to fly, if you choose to, you are accepting the risk involved.
I understand your comment and was about to thumb it up, but there's a twist to it.... Since a few decades (I don't rememebr the exact year), Governements decided to step out of air travel business and let the different companies regulate themself following the market law. They thought this way they would have no choice to offer good service and save travel to stay competitive. What they observed since then didn't exactly prove it was the right decision.
@sleepwalker2112 To stay competitive, they stack more and more people in planes, some companies cut on maintenance costs to stay alive, and PDSB can only recommend changes and have no real power to force companies to take action.
I fully agree with you that air travel can only be as safe as it can get... One has to realise it's already mindblowing that we can survive a 10 000 meters high, super low pressure, deadly cold, 850 km an hour flight... With a glass of wine and a pillow please!
Most of those clips are of pilot error, flying isnt the problem. its some pilots got carless or messed up. Flying is becoming safer cuz of the computers being put into planes. Only think that needs to be changed to flying is the human factor.
about 80% of all plane crashes are caused by human factors, not the plane itself. And I agree with hoboteacher, somewhat, I think its more like 40,000 ppl per year die in car accidents in the US, a rough average of a little over 100 per day. And if you think of that in relation to human factors being the cause your probably nearing 100%. So shouldnt we be making changes to that?
I survived a incident in which a glider that i was a passenger in was destroyed by lightning, check out my video.

they say planes are safer than cars.. ok.. but when a plane crashes, it can take out 100 people or more out a time.
laurence265 2 months ago
@laurence265 Well over 100 people die in car accidents everyday.

hiphoppop8 2 months ago 7
@hiphoppop8 That's what I thought too.. But luckily (more or less) only 3 out of the 136 people died. I don't know how that's possible though, maybe the wing fell off and exploded away from the fuselage.

@thesniper1191 that comment is wrong.. the plane @ 1.50 didn't had passengers onbaord it was a testflight.
they tried to design a computersystem that could land the plane without a pilot.. no people where on that flight no one died...
Q1991DigitalArtist 1 month ago
Allright, how many people dies on roads every year? Flying is more than many times safer than driving (or being a passenger) a surface vehicle. Don't you think on-road transport needs to be made safer?
acteeno 2 months ago
1:50 umm.. i think you missed the landing strip :P

Air France Fligh 296 look it up
It was not automated, 3 died and there were pilots. The cause is still unknown. So no, its not funny.

What they observed since then didn't exactly prove it was the right decision.
sleepwalker2112 1 month ago
@sleepwalker2112 To stay competitive, they stack more and more people in planes, some companies cut on maintenance costs to stay alive, and PDSB can only recommend changes and have no real power to force companies to take action.
sleepwalker2112 1 month ago
I fully agree with you that air travel can only be as safe as it can get... One has to realise it's already mindblowing that we can survive a 10 000 meters high, super low pressure, deadly cold, 850 km an hour flight... With a glass of wine and a pillow please!
sleepwalker2112 1 month ago
@h2opcs actualy, flying is not that dangerus

Most of those clips are of pilot error, flying isnt the problem. its some pilots got carless or messed up. Flying is becoming safer cuz of the computers being put into planes. Only think that needs to be changed to flying is the human factor.
GabeV08 2 months ago
..Im crying right now..my god cherish the ppl who died on those plain crash.;))
2121Anime 2 months ago
about 80% of all plane crashes are caused by human factors, not the plane itself. And I agree with hoboteacher, somewhat, I think its more like 40,000 ppl per year die in car accidents in the US, a rough average of a little over 100 per day. And if you think of that in relation to human factors being the cause your probably nearing 100%. So shouldnt we be making changes to that?

im guassing that someone u new was on flight 507 if so R.I.P
