I can't find the original interview online anymore but the story was: Corin saw an account Wolf Blitzer gave of seeing a woman in her car being hit by a train being played on a loop in a bar in Germany.
I don't have any S-K footage or DVDs, it's SO depressing!:-(
anyway I can't post the link BUT: google this "Sleater-Kinney spokane" (its 7 Music Sleater-Kinney), and it should lead you to the interview where Corin explained, basically what was already mentioned here.
A woman committed suicide by jumping in front of a train, and her death was caught on film. Naturally, news stations began playing it a lot, and this song's about lightly everyone took their morbid curiosity.
I can't find the interview where Corin talked about it. :\
Yeah apparently the video was played on repeat in bars as like "video of the week" or whatever aswell.. I can't find any of the stories now but if you google it, you'll find the file name for the video is something like "woman gets hit by train- FUNNY" or something equally ridiculous.
But yeah, basically about how her pain was used as entertainment.

No she was walking home and didn't see the train.
The yard was cold and dark/The tracks were clearly marked/But she was tired...she didn't see.

Absolutely amazing song; one of my favourites. The story behind it is so tragic.

What is it, exactly? The story, I mean? I've been wondering for some time now.
