Well, you do need to do some anti-ground play in my opinion, otherwise it's just an exercise in pointlessnesss. It doesn't help your team if the enemy's strategy is "just ignore him, he doesn't attack anyway". Strafing tanks at least.

Lol being unpredictable is the best thing for the jet i have always tried to unpredictable and it helps two jets were being bitches the whole game and i didnr have anoher pilot to help and i was corckscrewing and fucked with em and they eventuaally ran into each other and it was funny as hell

Guided missiles are fine. My biggest problem in the air is the AA vehicles. Do 2-3 runs and that AA vehicle is dead. Usually, when you own the skies. people wont take jets anymore, so you can still kill stuff while waiting for the jets.

Nice video. I like your tuts. Nice explanation. My only problem as I stated in your other video is the sight. I keep loosing sight, but thats cause I play a lot in the cockpit. I guess I gotta start just fly around outside of my cockpit and get used to it. Now that I have flares and seekers and stealth, its time for me to sit outside the cockpit and just learn and practice more. Maybe that will get me a better line of sight, so to speak. Thanks...

I like to be mostly anti-air in the jets but also be able to attack some ground targets if no enemy air is up. I find air radar, IR flares, and rocket pods works good for that role because you can know when the enemy gets into the air, you can see tanks on the ground to hit with rocket pods, and most people now have IR flares on jets and helicopters so I don't find heat seekers useful.

@iiSh3k exactly i got rid of seekers cause everyone now pretty much has flares and DICE is buffing the jet so pods and guided missiles are probably getting a little buff so should get use to them now so you got good aim for when they are actually pretty good

does air radar see tanks i thought it has proximity that saw tanks and air radar didn't

yeah. stealth >radar but it seems that the edge isnt that noticable since there arent many exceptional pilots out there, especially on the 360.

@HinesGaming i find that laser guided missiles are good in conjunction with beam scanning...also, after i fire the missile i usually come in with a strafing run to finish the job.

One thing I found helpful for a persistent tail is major loops, accel going up into the loop and brake on the way down leveling yourself out and banking left or right

@MetroidSlayer0 I've noticed doing loops straight up into the air and banking to one side, sort of a corkscrew, shakes most of the enemies from my tail. Also flying "into" the sun and bank away is kinda effective too.

@ExildMan 2 stingers can be shot at a jet in the space of 1 flare so stingers would need to have a reload increase time if you were to decrease flares plus it should not be super easy to shoot down jets, if you could then a rocket pod should be able to kill a soldier instead of having to shoot 3 to kill 1 soldier and the guided missile should be instant dead vehicle when hit from behind like it used to be

Hines, I get your point with the IR flares but wouldnt the extinguisher be better in general because.... 1.) The extinguisher is more robust and works in almost any situation (IR cant stop damage from AA or dumb pilots crashing into you) and 2.) With simple maneuvers, the missile can be dodged (your speed up turn technique). Also, wouldnt radar be better for Air to Air since you can see exactly where the enemy pilot is at and you can out maneuver him faster and easier than just searching .

@Dekapitated I agree that for extinguisher it sounds more logical on paper. But in game, to be honest, I never go down when I have flares. Ever, unless I crash into a lightpost or enemy jet. I'm not saying that extinguisher isn't viable, just saying that flares work for me.

Second. I can pick up an enemy pilot just as well without air radar, which allows me to use stealth. I'm skilled enough to be able to track a pilot without air radar, giving me that extra survivability stealth gives.

@Dekapitated Also, this is just from my experience, the radar seems really great for acquiring targets and getting a good position to land a nice strike than with stealth (with my experience, stealth works well but I can easily dodge missiles with a delayed barrel roll or an accelerated turn. I know this video is for the average player who wants to be a great pilot and you are helping them with great videos but why not just heavily try out Air radar, extinguish, heat seekers?

If you think choppers are weak and "easy kills", then you have been playing with people who dont know the role of a chopper and fly straight into the line of fire. A Chopper's role is very big both air and ground.

On hardcore servers you can't use the outside camera, which makes Air Radar a lot more useful. You can basically chase a plane by only watching the radar.

I'm doing quite OK now in jets thanks to your vids except on Canals. The flight ceiling on that map is soo low and there are a million poles you can fly against, do you have any tips for that map specifically?
