  • nice rifles.. nice finish.. nice accessories.. cool stuff.. i got mine for 99$ on sale with all of the fixing's like you got here. cool stuff...

  • Love your video, it was a great help. Thanks for making it.

  • @shoebox56 Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching bro

  • Russian's don't have long arms but if you are going to make a million rifles why not let people with short arms use them too.

  • Comment removed

  • The length of pull is short so when they had heavy coats and clothes on the length of pull would be fine.

  • yup just bought a m38 as my first gun hehe only $130 (INCLUDING BACKGROUND CHECK) no cosmoline AND! a bent bolt already on

  • Very good video. Bought a Yugo mausser 2 days ago. Been wanting a K98, seen a Swiss K31 in mint condition but the price is $329 plus tax. Im going back to the store where I bought my Yugo where they have a Mosin Nagant for $139 almost the same price if I order it online. One thing I love with my Yugo is the bent bolt which is the same as the German K98. Thanks for the video again. Happy shooting from New York.

  • don't have long arms but i want to soften the recoil, what should i do

  • @wpmpb Well the rubber buttpad only ads about an inch and a half to the length of pull so it's not too much of a difference

  • Good vid. Thanks for the info.

  • @DevilDuck996 Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching

  • just watched this and decided to go pick one up this weekend or maybe two pending on what the store has.

    thanks

  • @Wm37M Cool, glad the vid helped, appreciate ya watching

  • hey im 12 and i have wanted one since i was 10 do you think that this too much kick for me i have shoten a 12ga. so do u think it is too much kick for me

  • @airsoftforlife6 If u can shoot a 12 gauge then u shouldn't have too much trouble with this

  • Thanks for the review! Just bought one.

  • Great review, now I need to go pick one up......

  • @73scamp Thanks 4 watching

  • Been researching the gun since last year. Looking to pick one up for my 1st gun. Just need to find out about gun laws in Philadelphia, PA. But will probably get one with tax return money this year. Thank you very much for the video!

  • @yaquak Glad ya liked the vid, thanks 4 watching

  • @yaquak wtf i live there to. I was wondering the same thing.

  • @xNumerousTumors Well after doing research you dont really need anything to own a gun in PA. However, if you order online the firearm will have to be sent to a FFL dealer, since regular people do not own a FFL license, but if bought at a gun store they just do a background check and its more or less like a regular purchase. Just keep the reciept as proof.

I though there was like tons of stuff involved but there isnt which is cool. Now to find the rifle!

  • great vid...thanks.....I was in my local shop just today and they had a few cases of these there...I have never shot one but seeing them has prompted me to find out more on youtube. Being Feb. 2012 would you still estimate these to be 120.00 for the gun and tool pouch?

  • @theanimalmuppet Yeah $120 is still a good price for these. You can get 'em cheaper and for a little more but overall thats a good fair price

  • @theanimalmuppet I just bought one today for $120.00 with extras

  • hey just an update i picked up my mosin today from my local gunshow and its amazing, thanks again

  • @mrbsfx1 Thats great bro, congrats on the new rifle. Hope ya have alot of fun with it.

  • from what i understand both of your rifles r pre- war just sayin if u didnt know a real tale tell is the metal where the sling was mounted during the war they didnt have time to mount that just to let u know nice vid got my first mosin today

  • @TurtleHomicide1 Yeah I know their both pre-war

  • Can you shot 30-06 in this gun ? or will it damage it ?

  • @jacob1714266 In short, no.

  • checked my local (canadian) gun store and they have quite a few... just need to save up a bit...

  • Excellent video, I want a Mosin Nagant so bad I could taste it!

  • The M44 carbine was my first gun and i still have it. It is VERY fun to shoot!

  • @AmericanMuscle2012 Yeah they're great rifles

  • the m44's are not all that rare and they usually go for about 120 bucks (before tax), you can pick up an 91/30 for 90 bucks plus tax, i payed like 98 with tax for mine,

  • @Themech That depends on where u live. Most place sell M44's for at least $200 because they've grown alot in popularity and they are much harder to find since there were only a fraction of M44's made compared to the 91/30. Again getting a 91/30 for under $100 locally is also not too common unles u hit up a Dick's Sale or something and u happen to live close to one. Most online retailers sell 'em for about $70 to $80 and after shipping and FFL fees your looking at $120

  • @Themech gthe m44 and m45 are the only non rare was the rest are quite rare

  • @MrDip02

nigga, you went pants on the head retarded, the 91/30's are the most common because they made millions of them, the ones that are a little bit more rare are some of the Finnish and Dragoon ones

  • Good stuff

  • @MrPreacherman75 Thanks bro

  • Is it more or less accurate than a Russian Sks? Here in Canada the mosins cost around 170-160 and the Sks costs 160-180. Which should I get?

  • @1337Leva Well it is considerably more accurate than an SKS and with greater range, but honestly if they're going to be basically the same price I'd rather have an SKS

  • Enjoyed watching your video. This is something new for me. I have a Win 30 30, Marlin 45 70, and 2 12ga Beretta O/U for skeet and trap. Maybe a Mosin will be my next project. Thanks again.

  • @iamsonny7 Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching

  • Awesome vid, man. Beautiful guns you got there. Gonna go get myself a 91/30 this weekend. Just one question about the cosmoline removal. How did you get it out of the wood? I've heard some people say they steamed it out or they've used a hair dryer. And what kind of degreaser would you recommend for the metal? Just curious as to what your methods were. Thanks a lot.

  • @ewp805 Well because I was going to refinish the stock I just went ahead and sanded the entire stock down, and in the process it removed the cosmoline, this was however after I wiped it down with solvent to get the top excessive layer off. For the metal I also just used reguar gun solvent (hoppe's) and alot of elbow grease. Another option for the metal is kerosene, it really strips the cosmoline off, and Simple Grenn works well for the stock if your not refinishing it.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Alrighty. Sweet deal. Thanks for the response, bud.

  • @ewp805 another method (what I used), was taking a hot pan of water, and pouring simple green in until it was soapy (you can also use orange cleaner, or any degreaser really) and letting the metal soak in it for about ten minutes and wiping it dry. For the wood I put it in the oven at 175 degrees for about thirty minutes at a time and wiped excessive cosmoline off until I was happy with it.

  • If you can buy this gun in person! :)

  • @cowboy836 Agreed

  • A 30ot6 shoots the same bullets. Just saying

  • @MrVoorhees88 Alot of cartridges shoot a .30 caliber round

  • @MrVoorhees88 That's not true. 30-06 uses a .308" diameter bullet, 7.62x54r uses a .311" diameter bullet.

  • They cost $375 in Australia but thats still dirt cheap knowing Australia. I've already ordered one and am waiting for it. :). Wouldve done local pickup but almost no stores in my area have em

  • @insurgentdude Yeah I've talked to several people from your part of the world and $374 is actually really cheap for u guys. Its a great rifle, your gonna have alot of fun

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo

Great video and review by the way.

  • I actually picked one up today. Great video btw and agree IN PERSON is the way to go, just don't forget to be ready to wipe off your hands on something other than your pants lol. Also once you get addicted odds are you can just go to picking up a crate of 20 (-;

  • @SeedBankReviews Absolutely, its like Pringles "Bet ya can't have just one"

  • Well, my 18th birthday is this march 22 and ive been lookin for a good coyote gun, I looked at the Ruger m14 ranch rifle and it was bad ass, but i'm not the fairy fuckin god mother who can pull out 900 to a grand out of my ass. I have a remington 770 .308 and it's a gorgeous rifle, but again the rounds cost an ass load. I think The Mosin will be my first firearm purchase. Rip it up, tear it up, and have a ball.

  • @braddahnaok Absolutely, thanks 4 watching!

  • thanks for the vids on the mosin, i plan to go pick one up tomorrow as my first firearm.

  • @mrbsfx1 Well congratulations on your first gun!

  • Good vid. I have always thought of acquiring a Mosin M44. Nice carbine.

  • @roldans99 Yeah they're great rifles

  • Lots of help, thanks!

  • @HawsDaBaws Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching

  • good advise

  • @gilyardk Thanks 4 watching

  • were did you get ammo that cheap i found the gun for 80 bucks at my local big 5 but the ammo was about 50 cents a round

  • @meadechandler1 I order 440 round spam cans online at places jgsalesDOTcom militaryshootersDOTcom or aimsurplusDOTcom for around $80 to $90 bucks

  • im going to buy one as soon as possible. nice review ^_^

  • @ferkyou420 Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching

  • Is the one of the top a Finnish?

  • @Anman619 Finnish M39, I mean.

  • I have found one, but I am in canada, it is $160 and that is the cheapes I have found?

  • @GerrettJihad Well location definitely plays a part in price and thats still not too much for a good solid bolt action rifle

  • The reason for the shorter stocks is because of their uniforms they are big thick uniforms so the shorter stock helped.

  • I shot a fox with one, nothing left to skin

  • @BenTheHunter98 Yeah its not really a small game rifle ..... lol

  • the pkm fires this round i think

  • Russian weapons are short stocked so any one can use them since they are always mass produced and exported anyone needs to be able to use one.

  • Comment removed

  • Would you say that a Mosin is worth $250 if it has a better action put in?

  • @kaglerthewiccan No, what better action would there be? It would just be nother Mosin bolt/action since thats the only gun that fits in a Mosin receiver. So your just trading one mosin bolt/action for another, that makes no sense unless there was something wroing with the first one in shich place all thats been done is repair it to get it back to normal which adds no value just keeps it from being worth less because of having bad action

  • I love the colour on those rifles , mines uber dark :(

  • @LastRussianEmporer Well he one on top I refinished to a natural blonde wood color

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo you did a really nice job, I like the lighter colours.

  • great video.i said the same thing when i bought my mosin.why didnt i buy one of these a long time ago? lol

  • @grumpyacid5650 Exactly

  • Would you happen to have a link or something for the stock because ive also been looking for some striper clips for my mosin thank you

  • What is the butt stock and ammo wrap you have on the yellow mosin?

  • @shadowkiller2208 Thats just a cheap elastic shell holder, don't even remember where I got it. The rubber buttpad I got online on ebay for $15 bucks with some stripper clips

  • powerful round for cheap, tough rifle for cheap, win win

buy ten and clean em up and store em

buy ten more and leave em in cosmoline to bury in the yard for later :D

  • @8BitBastard Now that sounds like a plan

  • Nice video. I got my 91/30 a couple of months ago. It is very accurate and fun to shoot. I hear it is even more accurate with the bayonet attached but too many people start asking questions when it is attached and that gets in the way of your shooting. Metric shit-ton of videos? Is that a technical term?

  • @ZipTumbleFast Yeah a metric shit is = to 10 metric tons which is = to 11.2 standard tons ....... lol

  • @ZipTumbleFast If someone asks why you have the bayonet attached, you say "shut the fuck up thats why" lol

  • @Gungeek lol hey i'm subscribed to you

  • I paid $155 + $20 shipping + $15 for transfer from RGUNS.net for a 1943 91/30 Tula which has the original bolt turned-down, matching numbers etc, and it is BEAUTIFUL, a much redder color than most. I love it. Bolt can be a little sticky, but it seems that as long as you do it all in one swift motion you'll not have problems. I also got a crate of 880rds there, for $140 but the shipping was like $50, still though that's a damn good deal. I plan on putting a PU scope on it soon.

  • @DRIVEBYRACHKO For one with the original bolt turned down that is a good deal

  • I like how you said "you'll never spend $120 better" because that's pretty much how I feel about Hi-Point handguns. I know I'm bound to get all kinds of shit for saying that but I really don't care. I've got a C-9, JHP and JCP and they are some bad ass handguns for under $200. No they are not Glocks, Springfields, S&W etc, I know that but that Hi-Point C-9 is the best $150 I've spent on a firearm and it seems like $120 for this Mosin rifle would be just as good an investment, thanks for the info

  • @JDawgCCRecords Absolutely, I've owned a Hi-Point, they're great pistols, not the prettiest things to look at but the run and they're acurate and for the price u can't beat that

  • Local gun store has a big crate full of these for $119.99 each. Watching this vid I'd say it would be a damn good investment! I own an AK and the Russians sure do know how to make a rifle. I'm definitely going to have to pick one of these up soon!

  • or the draganov

  • Lots of great info, ty sir

  • @Nickl088 Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching

  • It Helped brother Great Vid !

  • @MrRollandMartin Thanks bro, glad it helped

  • i just got my first :D where is the cheepest plase to get ammo???

  • @ils360 Try aimsurplusDOTcom - militaryshootersDOTcom - cheaperthandirtDOTcom - ammotogoDOTcom

  • Nice video. My first gun i bought when i turned 18 was a 1942 Mosin Nagant for 100$ at my local SoCal BIG5 sporting goods store. Cheap and easy to come by ammo, I have absolutely no regrets.

  • @MrDirtywizard Yeah they make a great first rifle

  • Great video man nice job..

  • @alen969 Thanks bro

  • Thanks for posting and sharing this informative video and I think this would really people make a buying decision but you make may point out that a Mosin Nagant is commonly referred to a Mosin and a Nagant is the Nagant revolve as some people make this mistake which is also made in Russia as well. Also a great weapon to have for historical value and collectable.

  • Thx for the vid! I was actually going out tomorrow to look at a nagant. There's one at my local gun shop and i wanted to get a feel for the gun before i buy, but idk if it comes with the accessories like the ones online. Should i buy in store and accessories separate or go online? Also is there a difference in the hex nagant? Thx

  • @FuNnYBJJT The accessories really aren't that important except for the sling, other than that you really don't need any of the accessories, but if it comes with them then great. The hex recievers are just older models that can hold a little more value (and I do mean little, the difference between being worth $99 bucks and $110 bucks) but it doesn't affect the operation or reliability of the rifle at all.

  • I forget where but I heard that the length of pull is short b/c of all the layers of clothes and padding they wear to stay warm. BTW, I know you weren't trying to talk about it, but the original finishes look great and I'd like to keep it on mine too. It seems everything I see about removing cosmoline also removes the orig finish using chemicals. I guess heat is best for keeping the original finish but it wont fit in the oven. What did you use? Hair dryer, heat gun? Thanks.

  • @lewdestbeast I refinished the rifle, completely sanded and stripped it down and applied about 6 coats of Tru-Oil to it

  • lol i just bought one yesterday its a tula made mosin and it was priced at 130 but when it was all said and done it came to 180. the wood is beach and it looks as if i wanted to re stand it i could get it to be a blonde stock but my gun shop owner said dont do that it will lessen the value ii really want to get that reddish colour out of the wood and this ugly stain out... what should i do?

  • @robertforster94 The Mosin is only worth about $100 to $120 anyway so your not going to lessen the value, your shop owner doesn't know what he's talking about. If it was some kind of PU Sniper model or an M44 carbine then u might want to keep it original (maybe, but I'd still refinish it) because those are worth a little more (like maybe $250) but a standard 91/30 is a dime a dozen, they made millions of them, your not going to hurt the value of a $100 gun, make it your own.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo yea i have one more ? um my mosin has some brass coloured parts on it like right above the action and near the front sight is that anything special and i watched your 2 part vids on refinnishing one of you mosins and that blonde stock looks great btw

  • @robertforster94 No, the brass doesn't mean anything special other than that it was more than likely manufacturered when there were no conflicts or wars going on because during wartime the rifles tended to not have all the "frills" on them as they were being built much quicker and with whatever materials were available not just things like brass. The brass looks nice, but makes no difference in resale value, you wouldn't be able to sell it for any more money because of it

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo if it was made in non wartime does that me posibly it could be more accurate? when i refinish my stock what can i use to get that low gloss look of the old mosin?

  • @robertforster94 No that won't have any affect on accuracy. If u want a los gloss finish then just use a low gloss stain to refinish the rifle instead of something like Tru-Oil or Min-wax that will give it a shine

  • @robertforster94 boiled linseed oil might be a good bet, but its a little time consuming

  • Dude dragonunovs and those ramanian psl shoot 762x54... your an idiot for saying its really the only weapon that fires it

  • the reason the stock's are so short, they were made for kids...literally 15+ were fighting with these. it was supposed to be a one size fits all.

  • "metric shit ton"..yuda man!!!

  • i think the R in 7.62x54R stands for rim, not Russian, not sure about that though...

  • @713slipkn0t713 Yes it does, but the 7.62x54r round is refered to as 762 Russian, just as 7.62x39 is refered to as 762 Soviet & 7.62x51 is refered to as 762 NATO

  • I have a 1939 Mosin i purchased at a gun show, an i paid 369.00 for it, an ill tell you why. It was an issued rifle an it is flawless, no nicks no bruises an it is furnished an polished. It practicably looks NEW! Its authentic all matching numbers an it is gorgeous. Ive never seen one with a stock furnished like that before. An yes i want more of them. Funny story a German foreign exchange student fired it back in high school. She was a hottie an had no idea what she was holding lol.

  • I just picked up a Chinese made t53 1960 proof marked m44 copy and i love mine to death , got it off a friend he loved it and i now love it to, payed less than $50 bucks for it but its in good shape shoots well and just needs a bayonet and a cleaning rod . Good video and there amazing rifles especially for me as my first fire arm

  • @Survivalist31 $50 bucks is a hell of a deal, those m44 carbines are great guns. Thanks 4 watching

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo yup they pack a punch like a mule and i wouldn't want to be on the business end of it should the need ever arise for it to be pointed at another living creature .

  • Nice video, good style you have, that is, right to the point.

Cabela's right now has a ton of these in every store, and they are selling them for $150.

Stocks range from fair to good, metal looks really good, all the inside is covered with Cosmoline.

Think it's worth it? Thinking of getting three of them, one for me, and the others for my best shooting partners.

  • Loveed you video awsome

  • @bassmaster690 Thanks, glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching

  • I got mine today,i shot it.....I came.

  • @skyii123 Hahahahaha ........ thats awesome

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo lol its loud!

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo oh yeah i've got a question is it safe to shoot at an old metal\plastic treadmill?

  • @skyii123 Not for the treadmill ...... lol

  • Excellent video, very informative.

  • @Shadowfax424 Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching

  • that's some silky smooooth bolt action.

  • @eq562 Yeah, it just takes a little work

  • Excellent review.

One thing you might have mentioned is that if you get a C&R license (around $30 for 3 years) you can buy online and have a Mosin shipped to your door, no transfer fee.

Only drawback is that you have to wait about 3 months for the license.

Once I have one Mosin, I'm going to get my C&R so that I can buy my subsequent ones online and cut out the middle man.

All of the gun stores here on Long Island are charging $160 for a no-frills standard 91/30 :(

  • @xdoctorbeatx Yeah if your plan on buying several older firearms then a C&R is a good way to save some time and money

  • I just bought one a couple days ago from Big 5 Sporting Goods for $119. 1938 Izhevsk version, imported by PW Arms. Anxious to fire it. Looks pretty good for a WWII antique.

Very nice video, keep them coming!

  • @Grogz40 Congratsvon the new rifle, you'll have a blast with it

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo I always have a blast when I'm out plinking. Just a new toy to plink with.

  • @NashCraft101 Well I can tell u that this will kick considerably more than a 16 gauge. As for other cheap rifles, I'd just go with a new rifle, depending on what u want to spend, u can get good solid single shot rifles from Rossi & HR for under $200 in a variety of calibers, but as I said it will be a single shot rifle. Other than that the next step up will be in the $250 to $300 range for something like a Mossberg ATR, also a good choice available in several calibers.

  • i got mine for $160 in a gun store

  • Hey just got a 1925 hex receiver Mosin-Nagant w/ Bayonet for $129 locally. It's been refurbished, and I haven't fired it yet.It still has all the cosmoline in it.Basically it appears new.I'm going to clean all of the cosmoline off the gun before going to shoot it, obviously.Got it for Christmas and is my first bolt-action rifle.I'll shoot a video when I go t the range.

  • @GHOSTOFTN Congrats, thats a great Christmas present!

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Just wondering if a rifle like this will get much attention at the shooting range?

  • @GHOSTOFTN Yeah it will

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo I have a question about firing this rifle. I'm about 5 ft 2/3" and 109.2 pounds. Should I be bench firing this? And should I be wearing a thick winter coat (It's 1970's U.S. Military winter coat) to aid with the recoil?

  • @deth2furries Well I've found that height and weight only partially make a difference in recoil management, most of it is about experience and training with your gun, but that being said the Mosin does have a good kick and even though I wouldn't say that u should only bench shhot with it, u do want to spend some time learning how best to manage the recoil and a good think coat never hurt

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Thank you for the help. God bless, and have a Merry Christmas.

  • nice metric shit using that one

  • @sebastianthecool Lol .... yeah thats my favorite form of measurment

  • Great video man!

  • @thatuncgguy007 Thanks bro

  • Good vid

  • @xcesarxramosx Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching
