I agree. Milan played for and around Sheva back then. Then he goes to Chelsea and they have Drogba, and Shevchenko is secondary. Then he returns to Milan, but duing those two years Milan got Pato and now Shevchenko is secondary again.

He does great in national team because he is the primary striker. A player like Shevchenko cannot be secondary striker because that is simply not his role.

Watch, if Drogba and/or Anelka get injured, Shevchenko will be god again. All he needs is a chance.

look at chelsea's anelka and drogba. when drogba was hot anelka and sheva sucked, as a matter a fact anelka did even worst. later, sheva loaned which gave anelka more time, drogba becomes half of who he was and anelka sees ball more often and becomes chelsea's top striker. you see that pattern? only one can do well with such big names

No, it's not just about the pace of the game, it's about your role in the team. Why did Shevchenko go to Chelsea? Abramovich wanted him. Did Mourinho want him? NO, they had Drogba already, they didn't need Shevchenko. Whether or not his time at Chelsea was succesful, Sheva still remains the best striker of the last decade. Mourhino didn't know how to get the best out of him, he wasted Crespo as well at Stamford Bridge. Sheva's record at Milan is astounding and if Chelsea had utilised him correct, they would have got a similar return of goals. Drogba may be a top class striker but Sheva and Crespo are better.

I agree that this guy is a superb player. Especially after seeing him in action outside Chelsea. Chelsea brought him just because they could, he doesnt fit in that team. Shevchenko is great, the club isnt. Roman wants a manager who can lead the club to quick success, but he doesnt realise it isn't going to happen. The team is bare.

Shevchenko came to Chelsea and obviously had to adapt to the PHYSICALLY AGGRESIVE english game. He has improved and adapted however Chelsea just discarded him.
