Reading the bible is not studying the bible. To study the scriptures, one must be versed in at least Hebrew and Greek understanding masculine, female and neutral nouns. Or at least be under a spiritual teacher who is well versed in the languages of scripture and can translate the scripture accurately with proper life and spiritual applications to today's times.

I feel both. I also felt that way in christianity in the beginning. Then over time more and more doctrines are taught to me. I was taught lots of things and challenge people who say they KNOW what the future holds based on a book that has passed from hand to hand over the years. I truly feel free for the first time. I want proof of the all the claims in the bible. When someone comes to me with other religions i say the same.
I used to be a christian that knew it all until i was exposed to all the contradictions in the bible...i knew only what the church said. I used to believe in a rapture, hell, soul, etc til i saw that it makes no sense in light of the OT. I do not say God hurt me. It already assumes there is a god in the sky looking over everyone. We dont know this. I say religion did nothing forme. All the praying, following rules, etc did not lead to the satisfaction the bible speaks of.
It has really be on my spirit the conversation we have been having, I truly want to fight for any child of god and work with them to find the truth which is JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

Of course i haev read the bible. It is a very old book and most of it christians do or cannot follow....it flip flops and gives different instructions for different 'sins'. It also has some parts missing and includes doctrines not found in the OT. I have read every excuse for why christianity is correct and other religions are wrong. Reading the bible is not studying the bible. To study the scriptures, one must be versed in at least Hebrew and Greek understanding masculine, female and neutral nouns. I feel both. I also felt that way in christianity in the beginning. Then over time more and more doctrines are taught to me. I was taught lots of things and challenge people who say they KNOW what the future holds based on a book that has passed from hand to hand over the years. I truly feel free for the first time. We dont know this. I say religion did nothing forme. All the praying, following rules, etc did not lead to the satisfaction the bible speaks of.

It has really be on my spirit the conversation we have been having, I truly want to fight for any child of god and work with them to find the truth which is JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

Of course i haev read the bible. It is a very old book and most of it christians do or cannot follow....it flip flops and gives different instructions for different 'sins'. It also has some parts missing and includes doctrines not found in the OT. I have read every excuse for why christianity is correct and other religions are wrong. About prophecies ect...The truth is they are all vague. People are not required to belive in second hand information b/c someone says so. It is cruel & cultlike

Your statement reveals that our abilities is limited. This is where strength is drawn from faith in God. This belief is the thing that helps 2 overcome obstacles u wouldn't b able 2 do personally.
To the points you said were "missing" have you taken time 2 study the context of each scripture, who the author was, and the message and the form?

Again. Christians are required to follow the commandments of their lord. Inspiring may be a part of it but the bible god wants WORSHIP! Furthermore abilities are limited. They are always preaching to others but cannot change their own lives

I agree I was raised JW and none of the pentecostals liked us. They belived in many things that were not found in the bible. If it works for someone else, fine, but i too have left chrsitianity. So much has happened and we have yet to see this jesus.

I don't know if I'm buying. On CSPAN, she talked accountability, but seemed to blame her losing her home on the evil mortgage broker. In the same sentence she says she didn't understand the contract. WHO'S FAULT IS THAT! She is wealthy (above average) and complained about health insurance. She has private insurance because she is self-employed. Welcome to the world, insurance is expensive. That seems to me like a lot of finger ponting, and not at the mirror.

Sandro, it's not about being female (and by the way Iyanla would be totally insulted by what you just said she is a female "hello"), but it's about truth. The Bible is the Absolute truth. It's not an Egyptian book of sun worship. Maybe you should try reading it. Especially Exodus. But it's about a God who seeks to save the world using a paticular people. It's about a God who saves the world because they can't save themselves unlike what Iyanla is saying up there.
