  • I'm pretty sure a beautiful slice of cake tastes the same as an ugly slice of cake.

  • A cake knife to cut cake? Ohhhh that's where I was going wrong, I was using a violin bow to slice it. Silly me.

  • dear chow tips: tits or get the FUCK out.

  • HOW CAN THE SLICE OF A CAKE MAKE IT TASTE BETTER?

  • i love how chow assumes everyone has an obscene food ocd or fetish. Please just stick to NY reports because most of the tips and the annoying youre doing it all wrong videos are useless. I really enjoy the reports as they are short, to the point, well shot and informative, it is the reason I am subscribed. I can not help my self from saying CONSOMME THAT SHIT

  • easier to just have a dozen knives.

  • looks delicious :D

  • "Slice the cake...wash your hands...slice the cake...wash your hands...and then you slice the cake, and then you wash your hands"

  • *yawn* this was boring i nearly died.

  • I AM SO OCD I LOVE THIS.

TIME TO WASH MY KEYBOARD AGAIN.

AND THEN MY HANDS AND FACE.

  • A beautiful slice of cake tastes better? Not really, it probably going to taste the same...

    JUST SAYING!

  • "rustic" cake tastes better than pristine cake.

  • you could also premeasure the slices, like score the icing on the cake before slicing

  • Mmm..thats one good-looking cake.

  • I'm confused, if the rinsing of the knife removes cake from sticking to the cake... how does that make the cake taste better?

I would agree that it LOOKS better, but if something tastes bad because you didn't wipe the came cake off the knife before cutting again doesn't that mean the cake tastes bad to begin with?

Oh Chow, you amuse me so much :D

  • @MrGlennJohnsen It's a joke. She isn't being serious, she's just saying you won't ruin your hard work on the cake with a bad slice.

  • Well I'll admit, I never worried about slicing a cake, but I'll keep this tip in mind.

honestly at first I thought they were going to go.. "Rince your knife in hot water and then cut the cake, because the water will keep the icing from sticking to the knife" or some such thing. Because cake mix normally uses some type of oil, and ever one knows, oil and water don't mix, normally anyways.

  • Or do what I do, just use a new knife for every single slice.

  • bitch, please

  • No shit Sherlock...

  • take a bowl with hot water - saves a lot of water and money

  • Good advice

  • a beautiful sliced cake tastes better ? ahahahha

  • cake is cake

  • Common sense isn't so common at chow it seems.

  • I refuse to believe that a cake knife would be used to cut a cake. Also, Doritos Consomme

  • I love the Doritos consomme comments at the top of nearly every vid now LOL that's youtube community for ya

  • Comment removed

  • I lol at the Dorito Consomme and goat butter comments every time... They will never live that down. I love yall!!

  • it's cake, does it matter?

  • can be done with a container of hot water too, dont be wasteful!

  • Well goodness. Thank you Captain Obvious.

  • so stupid

  • You know what will taste better,,,Doritos Consome!

  • Who the hell has the time to do this? If I tried to do this I'd be mauled by my family members...

    They really like their cake.

  • that frosting appears to be made out of...you guessed it...goat butter.

  • PLEASE BRING BACK HAROLD MCGEE

  • "It's ok to not like things, but don't be dicks about things you don't like" (ElectricMudPuppy)

  • CONSOMME THAT SHIT!!

  • this video makes me feel like im an idiot or something ... WOW ....

  • May I Rinse the knife in Doritos Consomme instead of water?

  • @49930075 You win +3 internets i laughed my ass off to that comment congrats

  • @49930075 that consomme still haunts me in my dreams

  • u think im dumb or what Chow?

  • hahaha we're never letting go of that doritos consome

  • A beautiful slice of cake looks better but whether there's crumbs on it or not it still tastes good.

  • I don't see much of a difference between the first cake slice and the other cake slice... o.o

  • "a beautiful slice of cake just tastes better" I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

  • consome that cake!

  • Mangled cake tastes the same.

  • It's just cake.

  • that Doritos Consome comment was HILARIOUS. if you haven't watched that video fellow youtubers, you must. it's a recent CHOW video

  • the intro is saying "show tits"

  • @ChelseaFC262 what an original comment...

  • @fireplacemantle you know it

  • doritos

  • Sherlock Holmes at its best

  • I disagree, I like the mixed flavour of icing + chocolate.

  • Nothing ruins the moment of a birthday gathering like continuously running in and out of the room to rinse your knife between slices. Thanks for the pro-tip.

  • Why so much hate? If you don't like it or already know it you don't need to comment.

  • Hot water on my Damascus steel knife will RUIN it, hot water kills hardened steel.

  • Dumb, just use cheesewire.

  • why use water? use doritos consome

  • I don't know about it tasting better, but definitely look better.

  • but will it blend?

  • So basically wash your cake slicer.

  • This is not pointless if you're a foodie. I didn't know about this before and personally when I serve my food I also go for giving a great presentation. It really makes all the difference especially when you took hours to prepare something :)

  • @MissWakalaka Save yourself the hassle and time by using cheesewire to cut the cake into perfect segments. What she's doing is labour intensive and totally dumb.

  • The cake is a lie...then I took an arrow to the knee

  • cake is cake. if it's good, it'll be good whether it looks perfect or not. just eat it.

  • Just eat the fucking cake.

  • I love how every new episode has some sort of mention of the Doritos Consome!!!

  • Doritios consomme....watermelons and kitties.

Comment telling me if i make it to the top comments;)

  • Will this method work if the cake is made with goat butter?

  • I can see these Consomme jokes going on for a while.

  • Dear god enough with the recycled doritos jokes.

  • Smart.

  • They won't let me use knives.

  • What? A cake knife to cut cake?! Who would have thought that!

  • this is a piece of cake

  • But will it blend?

  • Isn't this just a common sense thing? No need for a video.

  • It points out the obvious, but it works. If you care about aesthetics, I guess this is useful.

  • show tits

  • I used to slice cake, but then I took frosting to the cake knife.

  • Sweet. I would always get to the last piece of the cake and it would look like someone chewed on it already. Thanks for the tip!

  • But will it cut through Doritos Consome?

  • @kyt120 ok seriously... drop the doritos...

  • @kyt120 hahahahah that comment made my day.

  • @kyt120 I have to ask, are you one of the lucky people who also watched the upload about Doritos Consome?

  • @kyt120 I spat out the paintbrush I had in my mouth and almost ruined the Christmas card I was working because of your comment. Good job.

  • Thanks chow for another pointless vid.

  • @asinhawkeye0065

Thank you for another pointless comment. The video may not have helped you, but I'm sure it's helped someone out there.

  • @asinhawkeye0065 Seriously...

  • Can Supertaster just have his own channel? I just want to watch that.

  • @Vieteddy I prefer Obsessives to supertaster, but yeah.. Chow certainly makes us suffer in between entries in the series we actually want to watch.

  • Does it smell like perfect cake when you shit it out?
