There is no need to call people idiots, and he's actually not talking about a gun, he's talking about "The Game" which he has personified and made it into an actual character for the whole concept of "The Cool" which consist of "The Streets" and "The Game" and how they affect another character named "Micheal Young"(My Cool young History) and mad him "The Cool".

So in my opinion, No, he isnt talking about money even though i can see why people would think that. "The Game" as depicted in this song and the album is indeed an evil presence that will use many avenues (including money) to result in the destruction of another. "The Game" tempts and persuades people to do wrong.

On lupe's last album, he made a story that is called "the cool" It's about the rise and fall of a guy name Michael Young History. Two other characters in the story are known as Streets, and the Game. This song is about Game, one of the characters of the cool. It has nothing to do with the devil exept that Game was spawned the same day that Satan, or the snake, tricked Adam and Eve into deceiving God and eating the forbidden apple. That's all.

It's a simple story that he is making up, but the interesting thing about it is that he is making it as if these characters truly exist. The Cool for example, don't you see a bunch of people who think they are all that, and then end up dead? The Streets is where all the drugs take place. The women roam the streets, and it's cruel.
