  • I had just turned 8 years old when this hit, and I live in New Brunswick, Canada, and even I heard about this storm, this is what got me into chasing.

  • i remember this kind of videos would give me goosebumps as a kiddo lol back then i'd look up at the sky to see if there were any storms brewing

  • I was in Del City when this freight train rolled through.

  • @tlcasey1002000 Same here.Although, I was only 3, so I don't remember much about it.

  • I don't live in Oklahoma, I live in Alabama. With all due respect to the Oklahomans, it's an entirely different thing when you see video of a tornado, just like this one, coming through places you've been and can relate to such as Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, back on April 27th.

  • i was in this tornado scarist thing ever

  • weird thing is John Elway retired a day before this maybe mother nature was mad he retired

  • I will never forget that day. I was just visiting Drumright OK. We where spared but did get 1 twister that moved through about 5 miles away. This weather guy was great that day and no doubt saved many lives.

  • gives me shivers every time i watch it.... i lived up north in newkirk,ok and i remember watching on tv as it all took place........... the next day i traveled down there to help out.......weather is amazing thing

  • Man, I've never seen 2 tornados side by side in one storm...is that rare? and that must mean this storm meant business..Its the same cell that hit Moore correct?

  • The "F" actually means "Fujita" on the Fujita Scale from F0 (weakest) to F5 (strongest), and the highly fantasized F6 being unprecedented and apocalyptic. The scale was recently succeed by the Enhanced Fujita Scale, "EF" focusing not on wind speeds, but property damage.

  • There is only ONE thing that makes wind faster than this. That thing is a nuclear explosion.

  • it dosent seem like tornados get as much media attention as they did in the 90's

  • @piketyl000 Same here in Canada, Most of Canada still doesn't have an automated warning system that automatically breaks into Radio/TV yet.

  • I was hit by this right after soccer practice. We went to my aunts house and there was a little boy that came into the cellar with us and I remember him asking "where's daddy, where's daddy?!" apparently his dad decided to sit on the porch and watch the storm, and coincidentally, my girlfriend at the times mom was on the cleanup crew with the fire department and found his body with a 2x4 through his head about 10 miles away. It's was a horrible experience.

  • @LeNomEstYves that is awful

  • I was in Lawton this day! I was standing on the porch with my grandparents and uncle when the supercell that the F5 started from came ripping through town! One of the most amazing things ever!

  • @OklahomaBabyG

I was living in Duncan on that terrible day ... I watched the storm form to the N.W. of Duncan near Central High ... That storm stayed on the ground through Chickasha, Bridge Creek and later into Moore ... After it got out of sight I got on the internet and tracked it on KWTV ... Gary England (KWTV) and Mike Morgan (KOCO) saved 100's of lives.. I lived in Oklahoma for nearly 40 years and I have seen 10 Tornados ... I drove into one back in the 70's and ended up in a ditch.

  • @hammerogod Actually to be fair, there were 9 tornadoes between Cyril and Midwest City. A1 was the Cyril tornado A9 was the Moore/Midwest City tornado. It wasn't on the ground the entire time, it took very short breaks and cycled into what is considered another tornado.

  • @BMPmama698

You are correct with one possible exception.

The first Tornado hit Chickasha and the second one tracked up the Bailey T.P. and hit Bridge Creek.

I was glued to the Radar from the time the Tornado I saw got out of sight until the meso-scale complex moved past Tulsa.

Details have become cloudy in my mind but I seem to remember that the tornado that hit Bridge Creek was the Tornado that hit Moore.

I just hope it never happens again.

  • OH MY GOD MAY 3RD I HATE THAT DAY!!

  • je suis le second français

  • je suis le premier français....

  • My Great Aunt lives in Lone Oak and that neighborhood got hit by a tornado sometime in 2009

  • Lived in OKC in the mid to late 70's. Good to see Gary England still on the job!

  • i know you wrote your comment three months ago, but i thought you should know form here in okie land, oh yes, gary's still here and sharp as ever, and if it weren't for him and his storm chasing team there would have been a lot more lost lives than were reported that day. he's still the most trusted meteorologist here in oklahoma. truth be told, i don't think he would ever leave lol. he's so dedicated, you couldn't drag him out if you tried. he'll just work 'til he's dead!

  • Thank you for your reply. I do miss Gary England's reports and I do miss Oklahoma in many ways.

  • Es ist sehr aufregend...

  • I have lived in Tornado Alley my whole life, but this day was the first day I remember being truly scared of a storm. "This is going to level most houses" scared me so bad. Thankfully it went just North of my town.
