@Blazi88, to był silnik Cummins Big Cam IV 400 KM. Najmocniejszy silnik Cumminsa w 1986 roku, gdy kupowałem to auto. Jedynie Cat produkował mocniejszy motor, legendarnego Cata 425. Ciężarówka która go zastąpiła, KW T600 miała już silnik Cummins XT 444 KM

Tthat is a 400 cummins. the valve timing is retarded on the 400. They retard the timing to keep from burning a hole in the pistons. Once the engine temp. comes up to 160 it runs smooth. so smooth you can put a baby to sleep. I put a #10 button in the pump a purple spring with a few shims turn the rail pressure up, back the AFC plunger out and you got 500+ HP. Change the pistons, and with more fuel work you got 800+ at the wheels @6.5 mpg. You have to know how to drive it .
Yes new batteries but these engines are always like this on cold start up. also rattle from compressor and STC. Once warm they run clean. You can make big power out of them just add more fuel.

That clackety sound you here is a single piston air compressor. Once the brake pressure is up it stops. What kind of mileage did you get with this truck?

I have a 1989 Pete 379, with a 444 Cummins NTC, acts the same way, best engine there was. All mechanical.
