Blockbuster wouldn't have this because the film "The Girl On The Train" (American title) is to be released on the 22nd January 2010 in the US. (although it has been viewed at the Mill Valley Film Festival (Oct 2009) and the (Starz Denver Film Festival ( Nov 2009). It has been on general release in France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands (during 2009) and viewed at festivals in the UK and Finland.).
Also there is no car chase so Blockbuster will definitely ban it !

The movie denies at the end that this is related to a real event yet all French reviews of the film in March 2009 refer to the Marie-Léonie Leblanc event which is used as a starting point and made more dramatic. .
I appreciated certain shots of central Paris which isn't filmed so much now because it's expensive to get permission to do so.

On Friday the 9th of July 2004 Marie-Léonie Le Blanc a 23 year old mother claimed to have been attacked (13 month year old baby in her arms) in the northern outskirts of Paris on the RER D between Louvres and Sarcelles.
The initials RER stand for " Résau Express Régional" (Regional express network). These are trains which bring people from the suburbs into Paris (a few stops in central Paris---often deep underground) emerging on to the other side (heading for other suburbs). Anyone wishing to get across Paris quickly can use them, instead of the métro ....especially lines RER A and RER B. (The others are slow.)
This is indeed music composed by Philippe Sarde, who stated in a recent interview; that director André Téchiné wanted it to be completely different from the rest of the instrumental soundtrack ......to heighten a sense of mystery. The idea is that anything could happen. Téchiné liked Sarde's music for the film "Lancelot du Lac" (1974) which also included bagpipes and drums delivered in the same way. (See YT link below)
