@mattsk8erkid Well in the begining of it all, skins and racism had nothing to do with eachother, until right-wing influences bled into the culture. So to combat it, real skins created SHARP, and labeled the racist skins boneheads.
@SAMxathedisco Okay... What was confusing me was when he was talking about him and Bob graduating High School... But before that he said college... I get it now.
Punk is what's inside, like Mike you don't have to look like a punk to be a punk... you could have an emo (Skinny jeans, black long hair) and they can still be a punk. I wish people would stop labeling people for how they look.
@LankyLad10 uhh man wtf...why do people still use labels? well im a mexican or you white people may call me a wet back... just another label...just as a punk...a label
@LankyLad10 Bro, if an unmarried women wore a wedding ring, people would think she is married, and therefor untouchable. It's against logic to represent something your not. (A punk wearing emo clothing). Sure a person could be wearing a t shirt and jeans and be a punk, but the extreme end of that spectrum is a bit irrational.
@LankyLad10 You're right but except with the emo part.If someone is wearing skinny jeans and have long black hair that doesn't make them emo.You say people should stop labelling but you just labelled the people who wear skinny jeans and have black hair.Just sayin'.
@LankyLad10 Exactly dude...According to people in High school (for me that was 200-2004) I dressed kind of like a prep.....I hang out with all of the punk type guys in MI....in fact I still do...I played sprts and stuff, but I also partied (smokin, drinking, lsd, you name it I probably did it) and listened to Fear, Misfits, Sex pistols, Dead kennedys......I confused alot of people...and made some of the best friends you could imagine......
@airthief THANK YOU for having a brain. I'm glad someone else sees the fact that anarchy can never truly exist bc people will always try to rebuild in their own way. Governments will fall and new ones will rise until the end of humanity, the trick is to find one that works. I for one believe that we have found one BUT i'm not passing judgement on anyone else's beliefs and AM NOT pushing capitalism. Please don't quote me as being a preechy right wing asshole. Thank you.
@dtice69 There is an anarchist state existing actually. I forgot what was the name of it. Somewhere near copenhagen . That place is heaven! Although there are some 'rules' , there is no government there.
@yihd hmm i read about that place, it seems more like a bunch of amish hippies who ironically stowed away in a military barracks lol...as for it being heaven, ehhhh i wouldnt say that i mean i guess the ppl r content which is all that matters but i wouldnt even consider them anarchistic especially since they have rules which basically makes them a bunch of peaceful libertarians
The way people choose to govern themselves will always be changing because as time passes and we're faced with new environmental and social issues and advancing technology we will need to adapt in order to stay productive and progressive. The only way a perfect order could exist would be if we found a way to stay permanently happy with no obstacles in our environment that threaten our lives and serenity. One cornerstone of being a living being is the ability and will to change and adapt.
@Krowsnose nice point i agree with you there, my point was just on anarchy specifically because like you said we are constantly adapting so we may ditch a system in favor of anarchy but we will ditch anarchy just as fast because humans like order and anarchy (in and of itself) cant exist with order, that would be contradicting
@dtice69 Oh governments CAN work. It is just that the greed of humanity always gets in the way. If there were genuinely caring people incharge things could work. But there will ALWAYS be some scumbag who wants everything for HIMSELF! Atleast in our lifetimes anyway. And probably much longer after that.
@GRIFpenguin true, thats what i originally meant to say of course i wasnt thinking that clearly when i wrote it, but yes i understand that governments can work for periods of time they just usualy get trashed after a while because someody gets too power hungry and fucks it up for everyone else
hey, do you guys know of any movies similar to this and pulp fiction in the sense that the movie focuses more on interesting little interactions and details about characters instead of sticking to the overall plot? Thanks!
@84Crystals thanks for that recommendation! i saw it and another called suburbia with a lowercase u, they were both about punks lol, and i thought about how much fun they made it look to be a punk
emo skinny pants are the mods. punk is now pop, its so funny to see a story about how i was like when i was a teen, and even better, to see how he grows up at the end. like WE ALL DO.
your a moron. anarchy is what it is. next you gonna tell me bread is not bread as i know it? it is what is it is. accept it.
anarchy is chaos, as said in the movie. but the thing is, none can follow anarchy, because everyone has a motive. true anarchy doesnt exist. it cannot exist.
true anarchy can't exist, you're right, exactly as communism coz nobody is ready to sacrifice himself for the community, it worked in small scale communities cf. in spain in the '30s, anarcho-syndicalism, etc.
anarchy is the suppression of hierarchy and everybody has to take it on himself to make this ORDER work, for himself, for the community,
solutions exist we just have to want it and if everybody start calling each other morons everytime they learn something new trust me its not gonna work!
it's funny how none of the things or points he makes in this movie soaks into some of the dumb asses heads who watch this movie on youtube. wow. :] all well i agree just watch the movie and create a site if you want to debate over the internet. YOUR COOL :]
Even the word "scene" means something new now. Scene is what "goth" used to be, but with "pretty rainbow colors" overlayed with black eyeliner and mainstream pop/rock music to express the inner love and harmony of the emo/goth culture. Makes me sick.
true "Goth" is actually a period of architecture and music in the Victorian era, so it was never intended to be a fashion statement, but the name has been used for many many years. Goth fashion is pretty out though, mainly in the UK.
What's funny is, that Emo is a style of music! Short for emotional, it's usually mellowy and easygoing, but can branch out into anything.
Everyone has emotions, and they can be any kind. Emo doesn't mean you have to be sad. (I'm a happy "emo" meaning I'm emotionally capable of feeling happiness)
if were gunna go calling out people why start with emo skinny pants but if im not mistakin punks like the ones in the movie you clearly like all wear skinny jeans. how ever true about the rest of what you said fuck wrist cuttin and shitty wana be hardcore music
See that to me, is the coolest relationship in the world. You have a completely different perspective from you other, yet are still able to find common ground. To have wildly polar, yet affable discussions, and to still be quite capable of walking away with love in your heart for the person with whom you debate. It's beautiful.
There's always gonna be people out there who are alittle pretensious about what punk means, when really it's only compartmentalizing people into just another fucking label. The ideology simply just means to stand up, live life to the fullest, and most importantly be yourself.
punk's just an attitude, a way of living, punks music, like emo (i hate emo's but their just what we punkers are but different from us) apart from emo there are also the rockers and all, still i cant find the big deal of ppl attacking us cuz we belive in punk, go attack the fucking emo's or the rockers...
Emo, is an off branch of punk, an insult invented by punks, to mock the fans of emotive hardcore, a genre that thought punk was getting to violent. So yeah, they're posers.
@MyManDanceInManPants Punk only dies if you let it. Punk isn't something you can bring an end to, it's an idea. Idea's cannot die, they have mass, they exist eternally. I myself have let punk die in my own head, but it still carries through time.
@ImAWaffleSauce the first wave of emo didnt sound that bad but when it went fuckin mainstream like that paramore and black veil bride shit it got fuckin horrible so ya emos are fucking posers.
@ejc8707 embrace and rites of spring... the second wave was good to like sunny day real estate. but the 3rd wave (modern day) is fucking terrible and isnt true emo. but hardcore punk beats all!
You can't just write it off and say "who cares" because if you no longer care what it is, then the scene loses all it's meaning.
It's a combination of figuring out what it means to you and living it the way you think it should be, but at the same time, you have to understand all sides of it.
To not care and not know what it is.. well, then you might as well just be a poser.
I was just expressing one asspect of it. And like I don't wanna be in a scene or wanna be labelled. And I don't care if any scene has lost it's meaning cause they all have. I just don't waste my time caring about the ignorance of people who like to classify things. And I know MTV does that hense my user name...
It's more than just labels. There is a large misconception about what Is punk and what isn't because of the lack of a real representative in the media - which is two fold.
It keeps our scene out of the mainstream, which is good, but then it also leaves lots of room for ignorance to those not directly involved. This leads to things like MTV mislabeling bands as punk, or people assuming punk is the same as goth/emo/etc.
There's more to it than just a label, if you gave it some thought.
your pretty fuckin wierd man u know that

Goth is completely different, it ruined nothing, there are just ignorant who group it all together. Goth is it's whole own thing with it's own music.

Orphean9 2 years ago 3
punk's just an attitude, a way of living, punks music, like emo (i hate emo's but their just what we punkers are but different from us) apart from emo there are also the rockers and all, still i cant find the big deal of ppl attacking us cuz we belive in punk, go attack the fucking emo's or the rockers...

Emo, is an off branch of punk, an insult invented by punks, to mock the fans of emotive hardcore, a genre that thought punk was getting to violent. So yeah, they're posers.

@ImAWaffleSauce punk is dead. punk was dead twenty years ago.
MyManDanceInManPants 1 year ago
@MyManDanceInManPants Punk only dies if you let it. Punk isn't something you can bring an end to, it's an idea. Idea's cannot die, they have mass, they exist eternally. I myself have let punk die in my own head, but it still carries through time.
ImAWaffleSauce 1 year ago
@ImAWaffleSauce thats true, but the idea came from the music and without the music whats the point? punk is nothing without the music :(

@ImAWaffleSauce the first wave of emo didnt sound that bad but when it went fuckin mainstream like that paramore and black veil bride shit it got fuckin horrible so ya emos are fucking posers.

ejc8707 1 year ago
@ejc8707 embrace and rites of spring... the second wave was good to like sunny day real estate. but the 3rd wave (modern day) is fucking terrible and isnt true emo. but hardcore punk beats all!

who gives a fuck what punk is just live it.........fuckin.......stupid shit.
PsychoxK1tt13 2 years ago
You can't just write it off and say "who cares" because if you no longer care what it is, then the scene loses all it's meaning.
It's a combination of figuring out what it means to you and living it the way you think it should be, but at the same time, you have to understand all sides of it.
To not care and not know what it is.. well, then you might as well just be a poser.
MarineRevenge 2 years ago
I was just expressing one asspect of it. And like I don't wanna be in a scene or wanna be labelled. And I don't care if any scene has lost it's meaning cause they all have. I just don't waste my time caring about the ignorance of people who like to classify things. And I know MTV does that hense my user name...
screwMTV 2 years ago
Calling yourself punk these days means you're a poser...
You just have to go with the flow and stop worrying about labels and shit...
Just do whatever the fuck you want and stop labeling things...
screwMTV 2 years ago 7
It's more than just labels. There is a large misconception about what Is punk and what isn't because of the lack of a real representative in the media - which is two fold.
It keeps our scene out of the mainstream, which is good, but then it also leaves lots of room for ignorance to those not directly involved. This leads to things like MTV mislabeling bands as punk, or people assuming punk is the same as goth/emo/etc.
There's more to it than just a label, if you gave it some thought.
