Rod is one of the all time greats and one of my long time faves. And Honey, WOW! Always has great supporting players too in the Mighty Flyers. Had the pleasure of seeing them 3 times in 2010, twice in SF at Biscuits & Blues and once at Blues by the Bay festival in Eureka CA. The best harp solos I saw in 2010 were by Rod, Rick Estrin (& the Nightcats), Kim Wilson, Mark Hummel & Curtis Salgado.
@Agent0007plus: and lest I forget, an even "longer time fave," the great Charlie Musselwhite, was dyn-o-mite too at the 2010 Russian River jazz/blues fest in Guerneville CA
Hey, quite right, Charles Brown wrote Black Night, and it hit #1 for him in 1951. I'd never heard the original before, nice stuff. Muddy didn't cover it until 1966-67. Thanks.
Great performance. There is another excellent cover of this on The Savoy Brown Blues Band's 1967 Shake Down LP. It's also been done by the Nighthawks and Buddy Guy but I'm not certain who did the original song.
and it sounds also like "third Degree"....i love Clapton's Version of it...specially those vocal vibratos he make in the end of a line.....a voice goin' down Slow
Where the hell did that sliding wail come from at 0:25?

That almost looks like the Elizabeth River Blues Festival in 1992. When I saw him there, he had the same suit on.
