When background is lighter than the foreground the subject will be obscured. Background should not be the "star" of the show.

Light the foreground using a flash, reflectors or a combination of both.

Switch positions so that light shines on model.

Few ambient light shots will work without a little nudging.

Cute girl, has some potential. The camera "likes" her for most angles.
