I think all Final Fantasy games are equally fantastic but I think each have a specialty. In my opinion FF7 has the best story, but FF8 had the best love story.
@machinedean100 it died after 10. 10-2 and everything after that was rubbish and what pisses me off is that the people from square enix will probably never read comments like this to realise where they went wrong.
@random4606 I forgot about 10-2. a lot of girls like that one they totally removed all masculinity from the game in that one. You know when ten came out I was ok that they removed the airship and world; because the story, game play and graphics were good. Then in 12 the story's kind of started to go down hill. Also, the battle system sucked I never had any use for a summon they died to quickly. Besides just put um on auto and donk donk donk for 30 mins.
@random4606 In ff13, the story was so so, but the endless battles, no towns and no world. Really took from the feeling of being on an adventure. It also took from the fantasy feel the game is supposed to have. FF 13 was annoying, and I will never play another ff like it again until they put towns and a world people to talk to and airships back in the game.

I remember watching my oldest brother play FF8. And I would bother him to play it. Being all like, "Play it! Play it! Come ooonnnn!!! :D" And he would without complaint. And whenever my mom would see me watching him should would tell me to go read and I would wisely say, But, mom. I am reading. :3"
I love this game and the series and always come back to playing it once in a while. This one was MY first ff game i ever played and has a special place in my heart that will never be replaced. The soundtrack and story is phenomenal, the junction system with the drawing of magic is tedious, but the game was GREAT, sad to say it took me 11 years to beat it. Now I just go on it to just enjoy myself :) .
I love listening to this song....It reminds me of my first love...The butterflies, blushing and giggling a lot when you saw them I got this game when I was 8 but couldn't complete it til I was 14. I'm glad for the memories I have of the game and her. Squall shown me it was okay to show your feelings and to this day I still love the game.

I started playing FFVII because my best friend loved the FF series, and convinced me to play it.
I started FFVIII because he listed it as his second favourite after FFVI/FFIV (tie), and I used it to remember him when he left me.
Seven is special because it was the very first video game I played, was amazing, and because it was my best friend who introduced me into this world with FFVII. I haven't finished Eight, but somehow it seems more beautiful than Seven ever could be. It's magic that way.
Wow, it's actually awesome that there's other people that love the game and soundtrack as much as I do. Not to mention that it was also MY first FF I ever played. Good times, friends. Good times. :D

I'm definately going to keep this and my Ps1. Mine was a special Ps1 with a screen attatched to it, so when I was sick and took days off school, I'd just lie in bed and play this game the whole day. Only just brought it back out of the closet a few days ago, I really want to play it again from the beginning.

@flyingkiller45 That's one of the things I love about Nobuo's music! He constantly has motifs of the main song in all of the other tracks while still having its own flair to help morph the scene of the story. it creates this sense of unity between the music, so any Final Fantasy fan can quickly identify from which game a song came from and even what happened.
This is the best FF ever made! I played this when I was 9 years old, but I didn,t finish it. About 10 days ago, a friend installed the game in my computer, and I have already beat it. I can only say that when I hear this song I feel very sad, because the game is too good, and it won´t be the same if i beat it again...FUCKING AWESOME, the best ff game, very beautiful story, about love, friendship, and war, best characters and music...I love this soundtrack! Very cute.
@TheJKP1990 I bet you haven't experienced everything. I played this FF the most, with over 5 playthroughs. Pretty much each playthrough I discovered something new, like the Obel Lake Quest, the yellow star for completing the card collection, the cafeteria lady's son mini sidestory, the hidden escape pod location in Esthar during Disc 3 and 4... and this is just a bit of the stuff. So play it again and then some more.

Final Fantasy is the best game series ever. The game series itself bred the most obnoxious and fickle fanbase I have ever seen for a videogame. People need to get over themselves and appreciate what we were able to grow up with. I loved every game in the series, and I have a personal favorite (which I won;t mention) but in the end it doesn't matter because we all got to experience these wonderful adventures. Peace
crazy how there are so many people out there who truly grew up with final fantasy games ...7 gets all the attention but in my opinion 8 was the best in the series the music brings me back to simple times before i had to worry about kids, bills, and adult issues....i miss the days of 1999 coming home from school and popping in the disc to continue my adventure ....classic game and memories

All seemed like everything of those happened just yesterday but reality bites. We are lucky to have played this game.

No seriously, I agree though. This was the first RPG I ever played. It was the catalyst for what was to make me an RPG lover that day forward. If not for this game, I'd be playing unimaginative, uncreative and uninspiring games to this very day. Instead I get the wonders of an RPG fantasy.

I used to do a horrible thing to my games just because I never wanted them to end...I wouldn't finish them. I would get to the last boss...and quit playing. This game, among others, fell victim to this. I think I owe it to myself and to these amazing games to finally defeat that last boss.
I agree with most of you on how this music and the game made you want to be in their world and how the music set the mood and tone. I can remember when Squall was on the Ragnorak when he saved Rinoa in space and how she left for the Sorceress' Memorial and Squall is walking around the Ragnorak and this song was playing. I can remember thinking about Rinoa and what Squall must've felt after he tried so hard to get her back and now she was gone. I think I walked around the Ragnorak for 20 minutes

@wayneski1290 Story was a lot more fun and interesting, I liked the function of Junction(rhymes:D). The Summons were fun to use, the characters were a lot more developed and I didn't hate any of the characters. I've tried the other game, It's rather boring.
This is just sad to hear, I'm dying now...perhaps this is the last music that I should be hearing....goodbye, world. I wish I will be born again in a different world like Final Fantasy...so long.........

This song reminds me of when you have to name Rinoa's dog. Looking back, naming him 'Jizz' made her Limit Breaks look real dirty when the name flashed on the screen.
I remember this scene... it was right after you landed on (earth?) in the ragnarok after flying out in space after Rinoa and all that jazz... it was an incredibly emotional moment too... when Rinoa had to leave Squall to go get sealed up because of Ultimecia's power over her.
But the one thing I remember the most is that it took me a very, very long time to leave this area simply because I got lost in this inexplicably beautiful music.

lol I call this Rinoa's theme ^_^ god I love ANY song that has to do with Final Fantasy! I just finished beating this game a few days ago. I was stuck on Sorceress Adel because I was to weak so I finally decided to start over and NOW, I beat it1 I loved it. Every Final Fantasy Ending sends a chill down my spine, a chill of happiness (if that makes sense) like In the Ending of FF8 when Rinoa was about to cry and the clouds opened and the flowers bloomed. @flyingkiller45 That's one of the things I love about Nobuo's music! He constantly has motifs of the main song in all of the other tracks while still having its own flair to help morph the scene of the story. it creates this sense of unity between the music, so any Final Fantasy fan can quickly identify from which game a song came from and even what happened.

This is the best FF ever made! I played this when I was 9 years old, but I didn,t finish it. About 10 days ago, a friend installed the game in my computer, and I have already beat it. I can only say that when I hear this song I feel very sad, because the game is too good, and it won´t be the same if i beat it again...FUCKING AWESOME, the best ff game, very beautiful story, about love, friendship, and war, best characters and music...I love this soundtrack! Very cute.

@TheJKP1990 I bet you haven't experienced everything. I played this FF the most, with over 5 playthroughs. Pretty much each playthrough I discovered something new, like the Obel Lake Quest, the yellow star for completing the card collection, the cafeteria lady's son mini sidestory, the hidden escape pod location in Esthar during Disc 3 and 4... and this is just a bit of the stuff. So play it again and then some more.

Final Fantasy is the best game series ever. The game series itself bred the most obnoxious and fickle fanbase I have ever seen for a videogame. People need to get over themselves and appreciate what we were able to grow up with. I loved every game in the series, and I have a personal favorite (which I won;t mention) but in the end it doesn't matter because we all got to experience these wonderful adventures. Peace

crazy how there are so many people out there who truly grew up with final fantasy games ...7 gets all the attention but in my opinion 8 was the best in the series the music brings me back to simple times before i had to worry about kids, bills, and adult issues....i miss the days of 1999 coming home from school and popping in the disc to continue my adventure ....classic game and memories

No seriously, I agree though. This was the first RPG I ever played. It was the catalyst for what was to make me an RPG lover that day forward. If not for this game, I'd be playing unimaginative, uncreative and uninspiring games to this very day. Instead I get the wonders of an RPG fantasy.

I used to do a horrible thing to my games just because I never wanted them to end...I wouldn't finish them. I would get to the last boss...and quit playing. This game, among others, fell victim to this. I think I owe it to myself and to these amazing games to finally defeat that last boss.

I agree with most of you on how this music and the game made you want to be in their world and how the music set the mood and tone. I can remember when Squall was on the Ragnorak when he saved Rinoa in space and how she left for the Sorceress' Memorial and Squall is walking around the Ragnorak and this song was playing. I can remember thinking about Rinoa and what Squall must've felt after he tried so hard to get her back and now she was gone. I think I walked around the Ragnorak for 20 minutes

@wayneski1290 Story was a lot more fun and interesting, I liked the function of Junction(rhymes:D). The Summons were fun to use, the characters were a lot more developed and I didn't hate any of the characters. I've tried the other game, It's rather boring.

I remember this scene... it was right after you landed on (earth?) in the ragnarok after flying out in space after Rinoa and all that jazz... it was an incredibly emotional moment too... when Rinoa had to leave Squall to go get sealed up because of Ultimecia's power over her.
But the one thing I remember the most is that it took me a very, very long time to leave this area simply because I got lost in this inexplicably beautiful music.
And I kept coming back...

lol I call this Rinoa's theme ^_^ god I love ANY song that has to do with Final Fantasy! I just finished beating this game a few days ago. I was stuck on Sorceress Adel because I was to weak so I finally decided to start over and NOW, I beat it1 I loved it. Every Final Fantasy Ending sends a chill down my spine, a chill of happiness (if that makes sense) like In the Ending of FF8 when Rinoa was about to cry and the clouds opened and the flowers bloomed. THAT! Thats when I got the chill O_O I luv
