@yboben You can shoot a musket ball, mini-ball, shot pellets (Shotgun), or buck and ball. Probably one of the main advantages of owning a muzzle loading smoothbore (At least I think this is a smooth bore).

The recoil starts to be uncomfortable at >50grains of black powder. With 70grains kicks as mule and makes you rub your palms. Shooting both barrels at the same time it's a bad idea. Triggers are hard to pull at the same time, so the second shot will go throught the ceiling. Shooting from hips I already snipped the steel cable carying the target troley ;(
What's the specifics of the load you were using and how far away was the target? That Howdah doesnt seem recoil as viciously as has been stated in most reports
I'm using 2mm-6mm buckshots, 350gr slugs and 530gr ogivals. Powder loads from 24gr to 50gr of "VESUVIT® LC" black powder. Buckshot will steadily cover 0.5m target at 10m range. Howdah is surprisingly accurate, with slugs or ogival bullets you can place your hits into 10cm circle at 25m range. The recoil is comfortable, gun weights approx. 2.5kg and the black powder recoil is much more "pushing" than hard kicking like .44 magnum.
