  • Hey, how about playing "Picture in a Frame" next!

  • To all those who ask "Where'd you get the sheet music?" It's available in the Tom Waits Anthology, order online or from your local music store!

  • OMG where did you get the sheet music for this? I have been looking everywhere!

  • Wow, great! Sounds very good! Where did you get the sheet music? I´ve only one with a very simple left hand accompaniment. But yours sounds so great!

  • heel mooi gespeeld :)

  • I am jealous. Glad you put your talent o a non classical masterpiece. Waits is a genius and although technically might not be Mozart, he is a bloody good musician.

  • You have the emotion nailed. The notes are just notes. Nicely done. thanks

  • Thanks for uploading!! Nice song, great playing, beautiful hands :)

  • You know he has a few different ways he plays this song and changes it up every time in the live performances. He is huge on improv (which is something I love about Tom Waits) like a chameleon, he's always changing - including his voice <3

You're doing okay for read sheet music.

Try playing it from memory. I bet that'd come out rather lovely.

  • You've always been my fav pianist on youtube. xoxoxo. YSF

  • Now there, you went and made me cry on a sunny Saturday morning. Loved it ; ..... )

  • Magic *.* It went right away 2 my fav vids (;

  • Thank you!

  • never fails to make me burst ito tears.

  • Beautiful. Been married to this song for 32 years, yet hearing it as an instrumental for the first time is extremely moving. Thank You.

  • again...you are the only one on here that accually puts the emotion in the song...good job keep it up sis

  • perfect...ove glove love it

  • Really nice. Thank you.

  • Good Job. Throw away those papers, and play it from your heart.

  • you have beutiful hands..

  • This is a great doing, son.

  • Hello, you play the song with sweet emotion, very nice, now here is a little story for you:

Tom waits wrote the song as you know, and the original title is 'Tom Trauberts blues', )aka. four sheets to the wind in Copenhagen)

the chorus is an old australien song (waltzing Mathilda), and the verses are Tom waits own. to go Waltzing Mathilda actually means travelling with all your things in a bag or cloth on your shoulder, like a vagabond! by the way Rod Stewart also covered the song.

  • The songs all about whiskey

  • Ja, dit is zeker een goed nummer.

    Echt super.

  • Zo meis, daar ben je weer XD

Weer een kei goed nummer :)

    lovely!

Ben vandaag ook ergens aan begonnen maarehhh...

    Ga zo door

  • Blijven oefenen kroketje ;) Goed nummer dit hè?

  • what is the song about?

  • wait im so stupid i no what the song is about one of the mean bus drivers sings it

  • It's about throwing up in a foreign country, apparently..

  • Very Very nice. It must me so satisfying relaxing to be able play such beautifully music. Keep it up it its wonderful to hear you play

    Bravo! Encore Encore!

  • I remember Mom being shocked and appalled when I cried - at the age of 5 - when I heard the old song Cockles and Mussels. 5-year-olds may be the best audiences,

  • ...sweet....

  • Oops, now I'm checking to see if it's uploaded, I also notice I didn't at all edit out my page turns.

Oh well, until I've perfected my X-ray vision you're stuck with me turning pages anyway...might as well see the whole process then, and if I'm lucky I timed some in the middle of a rest?

  • heck, i was wondering how you managed that in your other vids...when i play by myself it always annoys me as it disrupts the flow of the music...

  • Grin, I usually cut part of the " turn" out, but I'm pretty tired and half asleep..so I forgot.

Will check tomorrow what key this is in.

  • an excellent choice and song that I love...thanks!

i'm not asking for the sheet music...i'm just curious...is it written in Gminor or Bflat major?

  • it sounds like its written in F major, it starts and ends on an F chord, and only B is flat... i dunno, i might be wrong but i was messing around to this and i ended up in F

beautiful song btw, played excellently :)

  • d'oh...right you are mikal. either Gm or F, and most likely F. my bad.

  • It's F ;)
