lovely video! sums up the totally unique and warm beauty of this festival...can't wait for this year again! Bernard!! Marie-Joe! je vien encore! ha! nice one mate!
@thatsleon the song is called Rhythmes Gitanes. It's from the album Manouche Partie of Jo Privat. The band you hear playing is our band The Strong and Silent Types.
is 15 euros . . .15 dollars? damn i would like to have been there . . some take their wine out of plastic cups . . .not for me . . a happy fun time for all . . .django would love it all . . . .peace
Wife and I aim to visit the fest this year and not sure about the camping stuff. We have small VW campervan. Is there an official site for camping and do you book? What about tickets for the main shows too?
I have to find time to look at this all the way thru. Meanwhile i recommend an independent film on Sundance channel called djangomania. might point out that they showed gypsy people being forced to camp too far away to comfortably attend festival.
Incorrect sweetnut..The festival in that doc is the one in Liberichie in Belgium were Django was born.., the atmosphere in Samois is always great -Do your research
guys...i know the place...it is simply the [heaven] but you couldn't tell maybe because you didnt see the angels but if you listen carfully you can hear them playing
The festival is every year end of June in for tree days in Samois-sur -Seine in France. Near Fontainebleau. The location is brillant, an island on the river Seine. So much to see and to do. Don't forget to bring over your guitar.
I have to say thats a great fim, apparantly Birelli was really drunk on stage-thats why he called for Stochelo.Been there the last two years and will be there for many more years to come. One love
NO in the beginning its rythme guitar but in the end its called sunny

I was also there in 2006, there were some great acts, Stochelo and Moses in particular. Didn't think this years festival was as good.

I was at the festival in 2005 - it's such a unique ambience, which Pierce captures to perfection. I wanna go back!

6:44 - bireli puts guitar down and stands up on stage
8:55 - Dave, the guy who stayed at the same B&B as me
