fucking great saves by howard!! Americans have produced some great goalies over the years we havent had a decent one since david seaman. You should of done better though as Everton finished 16th that year in the premiership and it was pre season plus you had the home crowd and you had the best players in the USA out that night. i think the mls all stars would struggle to beat a italian/spanish/english 3rd division side. Remember freddie couldnt get a move to the second divission after w ham!!

@willieownage: MLS is a league in the USA. The players in the MLS can and do come from many places around the planet. Supporting the MLS deosn't mean you are supporting the USA national team, rather, you are supporting the MLS and the sport itself, in a country where it takes backseat to American football, baseball, basketball, and even hockey. I actually find the MLS allstar game degrading to the league and its players. But it is good PR, I guess.

mls could have done 10x better this game. it was simply a bad combination of players. remember that the coach has never worked with more than a couple of the players (he's chosen from the team at the top of the table at this point in the season) and that the players themselves only get to practice a couple of days together. there is so much talent in the mls that they could easily field two or three quality sides. and when i say quality i mean they could compete at mid table in the epl.

These all star games are always played mid season for MLS and 3 weeks before the EPL season starts after a few months out of action. Premier League players are always rusty in these games.

September/October time would be better, when all the players on the field will be fit and sharp.
