There is so much hate about this commercial, liberals true nature comes out. Not tolerant and open minded, but petty and hate filled about the South. They don't give a damn about the Gulf Coast which was more harmed by the reaction to the spill than the actual spill itself.
Of course the Gulf had it's best tourism season in years. The spill was a year and a half ago and the recession started just before that. There was nowhere to go but up.
I find this to be unbelievably creepy. Even creepier than Captain Planet. I mean, the affected areas of the gulf will eventually recover, but these BP ads make it seem like nothing happened at all, And is it just me, or has everyone forgotten that BP's penny pinching ways caused the horrible fiery deaths of 11 people?
this is an insult. I saw a rescue video the other day of a beached whale in Florida. The narrator was trying to sell Florida as the place of beautiful beaches. Then they showed the footage of the whale in this dirty brown water--in Florida, the place where Clearwater actually meant clear water.
@babynessa77 Texas didn't have problems with Tourism... only a small amount of Texas' cities are coastal, and most of the business is inland. Dallas, Austin, El Paso, San Antonio... all pretty much unaffected. Houston is a port, but the water is dirty regularly. Galveston was still destroyed from Ike.
I find this ad repugnant. I'm thrilled for the people of the Gulf Coast, and I support the SPIRIT of the ad 100%, but why does BP get the benefit of "goodwill" at the end of it all? Am I supposed to feel good about BP after THEY destroyed the Gulf Coast tourism in the first place? Their name and logo shouldn't be associated with this ad in any way, and they ought to be ashamed for trying to exploit their association with this campaign. Payment for this ad was part of their "punishment". Bastids.

BP had a hand in making Iran into the basket case nation it is now by helping CIA perform a coup in 1953.
You think poisoning the Gulf Coast even registers with these evil fucks?
"Look, we care, we paid for an ad about how awesome the Gulf tourism is now! Leave us alone! Oh, oil prices are rising by the way."

If you think that oil's "beautiful" and you like your fish drenched in petrol.
Don't worry, BP, we still hate you.

My new name for BP is Brass Prostrate (or the anatomical parts nearby), because it takes some serious brass testicles to promote the area you raped.
