I didn't get rude, but I did state flat-out that I'm convinced she's just another Vitter.

It is an OPTIONAL insurance plan, as we all know and that means if I want to purchase this OPTION I can - the government is not just giving it out. We have insurance and I think those that object so much already have ins. and don't give a dam abt anyone else. Sad and sorry people out there.

Actually, the bill is written to leave illegal immigrants out of the government support part of the bill. It also increases computerization of records, which will cut down on both scams and the "legal" end of drug dealing (think "pain clinics in FL doling out oxycontin like candy and not recording it.") Besides, the public option is NOT the same as "public funding." It refers to who RUNS the plan. Some people will buy the public insurance with their $. Some will buy private with gov support.

BTW, it the poor will gives up cigarettes, alcohol, and having more children then they can provide for, they may have enough money to get their own health care. I pay enough taxes.

If it is not stated in this bill that illegal aliens cannot receive this insurance, they will have the same benefits as honest, hard working Americans; paid for by you and me. This health care bill is crap. Will our wonderful senators use the same health care bill? NO!

I don't know if illegals are covered but despite your misgivings, it would make common sense. You can catch a disease from an illegal just as easy as from a citizen.

Of course, if private employers would man up and hire citizens at a decent wage instead of trying to maximize profit by hiring cheap illegals we wouldn't have an illegal problem to begin with. They go where the work is. If they weren't hired they wouldn't come over.

The Senate HELP bill gives good insurance to everyone at a reasonable price. It's full coverage including prescriptions, children's health and mental health.  The max out of pocket you have to spend in any year is $5,000.

Lawsuits make up 1% of health costs and States like Texas that curb lawsuits still have high costs. The government through Medicare already treats our grandparents (and parents) and most people are every satisfied with it. Do you want to get rid of Medicare and force retired people to pay for private insurance?

The rationing of care is implemented through The National Health Care Board, according to the plan. This illustrious Board "will approve or reject treatment for patients based on the cost per treatment divided by the number of years the patient will benefit from the treatment."

Socilizing medicine is not about the cost of private insurance, but power and control.

Private insurers already make these kind of decisions. There are cases where insurance companies have denied treatments or refused to pay for treatments.

You ignored my question, Medicare, which is basically socialized medicine, treats our grandparents and parents. They already have a board that decides this. Does it look like their care is worse that yours or mine? If govt care is bad, should Medicare be taken away and they should get private insurance like everyone else ?

With the new 'higher' min.wage, a worker earns = $15,080/yr.. The avg. cost of health ins.. for a fam. of 4 = $13,150. That leaves $1,930 to live on; for food, housing, EVERYTHING!
