  • That is too cool! Poor kitties want some owl meat SO bad ... LOL

  • Animals can see better than we think, they can see at night. they probably hear the cats scratching on the window too

  • @lovsoup yes, they see well at night - when it's night! it wasn't night time outside. based on deductive reasoning, it's fair to assume that he couldn't see us when the lights were off inside - scratching on the window, yes, of course he did - he looked at the window when charlie did it. but the fact that he got puffy when the lights were on is a good indication that he couldn't see us when the lights were off as he wasn't bothered when the lights were off. again, thanks for the concern.

  • CUTE but Poor Owl, when I lived in Colorado these window wells were common. They sell window well covers / for security and for wildlife. maybe you can look into that. you don't wan to risk a bigger wildlife attacking him being sitting duck (coyotes etc...)

  • @lovsoup thanks for your concern. we're good though! no coyotes here and they always get out - it's been going on for 4 years in a row.

  • @MrsVeganVixen you can still see the photos from the blog post then.

  • @MrsVeganVixen yes, are you on facebook? there are great ones on floppycats' facebook - or you might check the blog post i did on it too.

  • SO BEAUTIFUL! The owl is gorgeous! I have 2 boys and my one does the same thing your Charlie does when he sees something like a squirrel or bird...I crack up! Then you watch this poor little cute owl for a moment there looking in the window and he's probably thinking "Like what are all of you looking at? Get me the hell outta here!" Precious!

  • OMG Charlie was cracking me up pawing at the window trying to get through! Poor baby owl! Looking up like "how the heck am i supposed to get up there!"

  • @ihavecatNYC yes, charlie does that all the time - even when there is nothing on the other side!! this owlet is the best yet - he wasn't scared of a thing and was just trying to figure out how to get out and he did! i usually have to put a broom in the window well and wrap it with towels so the baby can climb out, but this one was a smart cookie! the cats were fascinated.

  • Poor Owl, the cats are entertained

  • @burnisheddragon Don't feel sorry for the owlet - it's part of the growing pains - he was not frightened by the cats - I had the lights off so he couldn't see us. Believe me after 4 years of this - I know what a frightened owlet looks like - mouth open, wings spreadout (to look bigger) - this little guy was learning a lesson of flying out of a hole. He is out and now in a tree - not back in his nest. I never would put my cats or the owl in harms way.

  • Again!! I remember this a year ago when you posted a similar video! So cool!

  • thats so cool!
