Ah, this makes me feel so nostalgic... It brings back good memories from my childhood. I remember when my parents got me the VHS tape when I was three or four. From the moment the cartoon started, I was immediately hooked in by the memorable characters, music, and animation. Definitely a classic to share with ANY generation! By the way, Burgess Meredith (AKA "Mickey" from the Rocky movies) does the voice of Puff. I'm NOT kidding!

This should be something the Ghibli Museum should add to its library collection along with "Land of the Living Lies" and "The Incredible Mr. Nobody." "THE PUFF TRILOGY" should be added. It would be cool if this was dubbed in Japanese. Goro and Hayao Miyazaki should take a look at these 'cause these special featurettes are classics and they go well Miyazaki's interests.

This is a wierd cartoon. I was like Jackie Draper at age 6 and I attended an alterentive school for 18 months for many learning disorders. I am 95% certain now that all this time I had aspergers or autism but never knew it. I only got over the severe lack of interation and the ability to talk with with others by "screwing" my head in by running across a six laned highway with my eyes shut and getting hit by a car at age 12 to avoid getting the Salk vaccine at school. And for that, I'm greatful!

I love the cartoon, but how they can argue that it doesn't contain |)rug references is beyond me. Puff blows rings (his name is Puff!), Jackie Paper (begins with "J" for joint and is rolled with paper), Dragon comes from "draggin", aka smoking), Jackie pulls a mushroom out of his chest of drawers, and if you rearrange the letters of the magical land of Hanalei, you can spell "inhale". One of the cartoon's more subtle messages is substance abuse to escape your problems.
