SYPATHY POINTS!!!!!!! just asking if anyone knows, didnt one of the horns on cavies trip at finals in like 02 right ontop of the W in the field. it was in wisconson.
Here's a few shows you'll want to watch if you want to see people fall. 2005 cadets, in the opener, a contra falls. Blue devils 2004, you have to watch it on percussion cam, but when they're marching off the field a tenor player falls. And you'll probably have to get on the fan network to see this one, 2009 Spirit in the Georgia Dome show, the percussion judge trips a trumpet player. Falling is not really all that uncommon in DCI. I feel it for the people who do, especially drummers
Well...I don't know about percussion or colorguard. But I know for sure that Crown carries alternates for brass throughout the whole season. And the best thing is, if you stick with being an alternate until the season is over, they give you half of the money you spent on tour fees back to you.
I think Blue Stars and/or Troopers do this, too. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Because no matter how hard we fall... Our recovery is always gonna be awesome and quick... like in 02 Cadets, that was as good as recovery as he coud've done.
I march Contra, and recovery is ehh not too difficult, chase your horn and get back in... but how do you even have a good recovery if you have a drum on. it just seems like there is no way to recover good.
There is no good way to recover, you just have to hope to god that your drum didnt come off ur carrier and get back to ur spot as fast as you can. But like me i have one of the biggest instruments so no matter what people are going to see it.
wow okay so im wondering for people in dci groups, what do you do as another performer in this situation, do you march over him or around or what??? message me
over him if someone falls and hes in the way and you cant avoid him without messing up drill he will get steped on. sadly it usually leads to more tripping
i dont know... i mean this video seems to be evidence that your statement is false and mine is true. but then again people tend to believe what they see/hear so what kind of logic is that
OMG that was so funny haha!!!! did you see him roll. god ill be laughing at that for a long time. but dang that drill was crazy!!!! id prolly do the same thing.
i was there man they where good even if dude fell down but the bast was the ones that did songs from movies cause they like laid down and kept playing it was nuts!
IS THE DRUM OKAY?

2001, it was in Buffalo and it was on the Bills logo. The 02 finals show was practically flawless.

Didn't you mean 2002 Cadets? Nobody fell in 2005.
buckeyeba 2 years ago
That's exactly what I meant, I just hit the wrong key. Sorry about that
turdferg098 2 years ago
That guy got chewed out SOOOO bad after that lol probably got cut =(
SilencingSin 2 years ago
He wasn't cut, and they didn't even really say anything: just a stupid accidental fall-he tripped himself
Starcraftgod95203 2 years ago
Why would they cut someone already in a spot, they would just screw themselves over by making an un-needed hole.
henryso1 2 years ago
they wouldn... lol, not for falling. haha
RegimentalFury 2 years ago
Corps have alternates to replace the main members, you know.
svolypet 2 years ago
@svolypet no they don't. Not this late in the season .
PogoPantheon 2 years ago
Maybe the Cadets don't. But I know some corps that carry alternates for the entire season...
svolypet 2 years ago
@svolypet i haven't heard of one.
PogoPantheon 2 years ago
Carolina Crown...for one...

we have 2 rules about falling while marching
1. if your gonna fall, fall back. SAVE THE DRUM.
2. if you dont save the drum then you are [CUT] FROM THE LINE.
sucks huh.

In the good old days of Drum Corps, the judges would penalize the corps. Now, they award the performance.
