@420metalfan24 I think your right. I was reading on wiki that the really old fords had them as an option engine. It was something like a 3.3l diesel motor on like a 60's or something old like that.
@derekyellow2005 And on the back glass of my vehicles it says the shop that my dad owns. So don't get butt hurt and say I'm a liar when there's clear evidence that he and myself are smarter than you are. Also, if I wanted to brag I'm pretty sure I have more right than you. I don't "buy my own trucks" I build them, bitch. GTFO of here.
@blindskater200 Wow kid, you have a lot of growing up to do. How can you claim to know anything about trucks when you claim that a broke down stock pos 5.4 beats up on a modded cummins? If that cummins is anything like you say it is, then it probably runs 12-13's against a slow ass 5.4 which would be lucky to make 17 seconds brand new.
Thats got to be brand loyalty, HIA, or something silly right there.
@Spywell No, you're an idiot. I've driven both vehicles many many times. Yeah once the turbo spools up it destroys the Ford, but the turbo on the Cummins takes longer to spool up than the stock one. So that lets the Ford take an early lead, but then get destroyed a little ways down the road. You people are seriously stupid. I said the Ford was quicker. Not faster. There is a difference, and it's common sense that a lighter truck is gonna launch faster than a heavy ass truck.
@Spywell Actually, I am going to correct myself. I did say the Ford was faster, and that was a mistake. I meant it was quicker. Right off the line, if the trucks would have ever raced, the Ford would have gotten a small early lead, then when the turbo spools up on the Cummins, it'd set your ass back in the seat and destroy the Ford. Don't get so defensive when a lighter vehicle launches harder than a big heavy one. That's like people crying over their muscle car getting beat by a tuner.
@Spywell Also, you need to do some growing up. I clearly stated in another comment WITH ANOTHER PERSON that "the turbo takes longer to spool up than the stock one. So that right there let the F150 accelerate faster, until the turbo spools." So I already said that the Cummins is faster once the turbo finally spools up. So you need to grow up and mind your own business, I wasn't talking to you. And you also need to read a little more, dumbass.
@Spywell Oh and one final comment. How can you claim to know anything when you have no uploads of any truck or car? At least I have uploads of vehicles. Now I may not know everything about a Cummins, don't know everything about a 5.4 either, but what I do know is that until the turbo spools up on the HEAVY ASS CUMMINS, it isn't fast.
@Spywell If the Dodge and Ford lined up and they both power braked it and the Cummins could spool up before they took off, there'd be no competition at all. Cummins would launch way harder and faster. But if they lined up and neither hit the gas until some one said go, then the Ford would take a small early lead and then later down the road get passed fast. You happy now?
@derekyellow2005 Why is it a problem I ask him shit? He's been working on vehicles for over 32 years, so I'd take his word over yours on car stuff any day of the week dumbass. And plus I do work for my shit. I probably put in more hours at his shop than you put in at your job dumbass. And for my 16th birthday I was given an 84 F150, I had to strip it down for paint, get someone to paint it, and I rebuilt the motor. So you can go to hell.
@derekyellow2005 You obviously don't know shit about vehicles then. The Cummins truck has at least 2000 pounds on the Half ton truck, and also, the turbo takes longer to spool up than the stock one. So that right there let the F150 accelerate faster, until the turbo spools. And I really don't care if you believe me or not, I know what my father said and I know the truth because I've driven both vehicles.
@derekyellow2005 That's funny, because my dad used to own an 97 F150 with the 5.4, it ran on 7 cylinders and had almost 200,000 miles on it and he says it was his fastest truck. That's amazing since now he has a Cummins with almost 1000 ft. pounds of torque. Edge programmer, 150 horse injectors, and the turbo off an 8 liter Cummins, all that and still not as fast as a STOCK, wore out, and older 5.4. You can't hate on the 5.4.
lol just wait ford and dodge fans here in a few years cummins will be in fords and hopefully dodge will get there dealings with cat worked out and dodge will have catipillar motors u think the trannys ran out fast with cummins motors wait till they slap a high torque cat motor lmfao cant wait go dmax
Instead of hating ill post my experences. Ive had friends with cummins who have problems with the fronts of the motors coming apart. I had a powerstroke that liked to constantly throw oil leaks. And i grew up with a dmax in the family that never caused a single issue. Me personally, the proof is in the pudding, id rather have a dmax than anything else because i look at reliability. Your mileage may vary.
Ford has a hand in big rig cummins engines, they have absolutely nothing to do with the engines in pickups. People need to learn this and stop embarrassing themselves.
@hicktown26 What you just said is the most insanely idiotic thing I've ever heard. At no point in your incoherent rambling did you say anything even close to being a rational thought. Everyone who has watched this video is now dumber for having read your post. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.
@thordaddy9 yeah i nitrous pop that grenaded the A5k turbo he was running, left a dent in the hood from it and everything. I knew the guy in the second dmax he told me the story.
@reducedfat11 ford had the patents to put the cummins in a pick up truck. they sold those patents to dodge. when the deal was over ford put cummins back in their trucks. then dodge picked up another deal and got the cummins back. look up ford cummins. its real. cummins owns cummins. not ford. ford just own patents to put it in the pickup trucks.
@ghettosmirnoff yah i heard about this. ford had a deal for a little while but from what i heard it went bad and cummins basically said fuck you to ford... it was a big ordeal... from what i heard anyways. but yes cummins owns cummins haha
@reducedfat11 .....thats funny.....ford owns aprox 75 percet stock in cummins......ford is the reason cummins stays afloat........otherwise they would be dead in the water like dodge themselves
@backwoodsctryboy... thats not what i asked. i asked were did you here that. now its people like you that keep this rumor alive... i have never seen anything that tells that fords owns any substantial stock in cummins from any reliable source. if you show me something that PROVES it then ill believe but until then im going off what my boss is telling me. oh yah i work at a cummins dealer by the way
@backwoodsctryboy actually i just looked it up... and what do you know!!! ford does NOT in fact own cummins. like i said before cummins owns cummins NOT ford.
@blindskater200 i know seriously common sense says that if ford made an amazing motor like cummins they wouldnt demote themselves to running powerstrokes in there trucks
@reducedfat11 ford bought the right to cummins awhile back they didnt have full rights but there was rumors when they bought part of it that ford would buy the rest but they sold it back because the 6.7 powerstroke had the highest numbers out of all three diesel at the time so there was no need for the 6.7 cummins.
@cowboyman35 you are stupid dude if ford bought cummins they would use it not shitty ass dodge thats the only thing dodge has good is the cummins and the cummins is wrapped in a pile of shit
@shirleythehunter are you serious? neither dodge nor ford has ever made cummins... cummins has always made cummins, dodge and ford have just put them in trucks.
@shirleythehunter i sound stupid? your the one who said ford built cummins but now its built by dodge. how can you reply to a comment of mine incorrectly and then call me a know it all and tell me i sound stupid when i correct your dumb ass... quit trying to be smart your only gonna make yourself look stupid.
@reducedfat11 because several years ago, a big to do was made of the fact Ford bought a decent percentage of Cummins stock. They later sold it, just to turn a nice profit. Since then yeah, seems like everyone thinks Ford owns the company outright lol
@reducedfat11 For a long time I thought the same thing, Ford bought Cummins to stop Dodge from using them, but due to contracts, they had to keep selling to Dodge lol A little research told me it Was all some bullshit rumor.
@reducedfat11 ford owns stock in cummins, other than that, ford has nothing to do with cummins....its no different than any person owning stock in a company....i dont think ford would use cummins, ford makes their own motors now...
Why do youtube video's of diesel truck pulls always seem to attack every random tree hugging nut job? You'd think if they hated it so much they wouldn't be watching it. Coming here and saying "shame on you" just gives the video more views anyways which makes the video seem even more popular which defeats their goal in the first place.
@themotorfreak1 what the fuck just happened? read the title jeez.... people get more and more handicapped each day, obviously the turbo exploded. which means the blades inside overheated from the stress and boost and the oil couldnt cool it enough, so the blades chipped off, went into the cylinder and basically destroyed the inside of the chamber.
@slingblade1991 obviously not. your comment is the only joke here sir, you have stated nothing of ANY importance... PLEASE enlighten me on where the funny part comes in!
@fightingisfortheweak That was a NITROUS BACKFIRE. If his turbo "blew up", he wouldn't have been able to run the truck again smart guy. you can even hear the guys in the background saying it was a nitrous "poppin". And you dont use oil to cool a turbo, oil lubricates the bearings. Those turbo chargers are lab testes to withstand waaaaaaay more revs and heat than that truck could possibly EVER throw at it. Youre saying that the "blades chipped off" and went into the cylinder? WTF,
And how would the blades chip off and make it into a combustion chamber?? hmm, lets see if a fin on the exhaust wheel of the turbo broke, it would go straight out the exhaust,so it couldnt get inside the engine that way. the only way a peice of a blade could make it inside the engine would mean it would have to be on the compressor side, or "cold side", now how the hell would the compressor side have gotten hot enough to break a blade apart???
@slingblade1991 you are such a moron. i am strictly insulting you just because you think you know it all and have to shit on me because i dont know EVERY DETAIL AS YOU DO. SORRRYYY wise guy, gfys. jeez.
@fightingisfortheweak COOLANT cools the turbo, smartass. Oil libricates it. That truck more than likely uses a ball bearing turbo which requires oil AND coolant, unlike a journal bearing turbo which only requires oil.
@fightingisfortheweak COOLANT cools the turbo, smartass. Oil lubricates it. That truck more than likely uses a ball bearing turbo which requires oil AND coolant, unlike a journal bearing turbo which only requires oil.
@slingblade1991 hmm all turbocharged vehicles ive owned were not coolant cooled, only oil. and your basing your info now on a hunch about the cooling, so basically your last comment has no credibility.
@slingblade1991 oil is used to cool the turbo and lubricate it. your both right. look up a turbo. look at the build and design of the oiling system. i mean why would they run oil in the turbo just to lubricate it when they could lubricate it and cool it down? believe it or not oil in the bottom of your engine lubricates and cools. by lubricating moving parts it cools it because there is less friction. lol your both right.
@myuutsuuCMCE lol rlly? how bout another guy that will prollyhave to go back to driver his gas powered car and do alot more harm to the enviorment that this truck
@Cananimal10 you do. International makes truck motors for lots of big rigs, as well as isuzu. do your homework before you try and bag on Duramax and Powerstroke. All you cummins guys are the same lol
@petterdiesel Yup, but now All the New powerstrokes will be strict made by Ford since the 6.0 made by Navi really ruined the repuation that Ford had from the 7.3.
@undeadkillers it really did i was unlucky enough to have a 6.0. Damn thing leaked oil constantly. When it ran it was brilliant. problem is, it spent more time in the shop then on the road!
well letts see where to begin on these comments, id have to say water/meth injectin is the saffest way to go. yes ford motor company owns almost half of cummins stocks, duramax is isuzu, powerstroke is navastar, i hate to say this, but as much as i dislike fords, i think a ford with a cummins with an alison tranny would be the greatest thing ever, i do think cummins is sumwhat over rated but a bulletproof engine none the less
@sethhaa "yes ford motor company owns almost half of cummins stocks"
WRONG, this was partially true about 20 years ago, but it was only about 10% of the stock. Please get your facts straight before posting. Amazing how this rumor just won't die.
yes it is but also y wuld he try to use nitrous i mean he shuld have known tht was gonna blow the turbo cuz its pushin to much to the motor his rpms got to high and mestd it all up
@sethhaa Nope. You can look on cummins website. Ford use to own a small part of cummins stock but sold it. So stfu you dumb fuck and stop listening to people. Do research for your self.
@mopower08 both of you are not completly wrong and not totaly right. the duramax is an Isuzu design. GM did own 49 percent Isuzu. Cummins owns a third of Dodge. Ford tryed to buy Cummins and they said no being the largest builder in the Americas
@mopower08 Actually, Duramax engines were designed by Isuzu, but they're built by a joint venture between GM and Isuzu... definitely not its own company, though.
@TheJjbegay what the hell are you tlkn about, Dodge is its own company and so is ford, dodge uses cummins, and cummins is its own company, duramax is made by isuzu.
@TREYinGLAMIS Are you also a dumbass??? Duramax is the name of the engine as is Powerstroke. the Duramax is made in Moraine, Ohio but is an Isuzu designed engine. Up until the 6.7 powerstroke, International produced the Powerstroke for Ford but now Ford makes its own diesel. Duramax and Powerstroke are not company names but model designations. You sir are the also a dipshit.
@HATERADExrs800 what...the .....fuck? google is your friend mate, powerstroke is still its own company, so is druamax, jesus....just type in powerstroke, and the companies website comes up! wow.....way to prove you are a fool.
@TREYinGLAMIS HAHAHA!!!! please stop polluting youtube with your stupidity. i dare you to google it yourself. i'll give you 1 better...visit powerstrokedieselDOTcom and click on history. up until the 6.7 the powerstroke was produced by the Navistar corporation ( international ). powerstroke is a model designation aka a NAME!!!! do a little research if you dont know somthing so as not to misinform gullible people such as yourself. BUAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
@TREYinGLAMIS oh and as far as the dmax is concerned.....designed by isuzu and produced at a GM plant in moraine, ohio. c'mon man this is grade school stuff. any moderate diesel fan knows this shit. your word of the day is "research". clearly google is not your friend! you sir have now proved to the world that you are the fool. HAHAHAHAHA you make me laugh!!!
@TheJjbegay What the fuck are you smoking....first of all dodge and gm are owned by the government right now, other than that they are all separate company...Except the diesels, Powerstroke=International, Dodge=Cummins, Duramax=Isuzu
@MDizzel16 Dodge= Cummins? sorry buddy. Dodge, just like Ford, has a contract with Cummins to put their engines in their pick ups. Dodge in their 3/4 and 1 tons, and Ford in their F550 and up i believe.
sounded like a gun shot. Hot damn!

WHAT THE F**K JUST HAPPENED ??!!
themotorfreak1 1 year ago
@themotorfreak1 what the fuck just happened? read the title jeez.... people get more and more handicapped each day, obviously the turbo exploded. which means the blades inside overheated from the stress and boost and the oil couldnt cool it enough, so the blades chipped off, went into the cylinder and basically destroyed the inside of the chamber.
fightingisfortheweak 1 year ago
@fightingisfortheweak Not quite true, he hit a shot of nitrous and it backfired which separated the turbo threw the wheel in many pieces.
boosteddiesel 10 months ago
@boosteddiesel now that i listened again, i dont see how i missed the people talking about him hitting the nitrous. lol thanks for the correction!
fightingisfortheweak 10 months ago
@fightingisfortheweak I really hope this is a joke......
slingblade1991 9 months ago
@slingblade1991 obviously not. your comment is the only joke here sir, you have stated nothing of ANY importance... PLEASE enlighten me on where the funny part comes in!
fightingisfortheweak 9 months ago
@fightingisfortheweak That was a NITROUS BACKFIRE. If his turbo "blew up", he wouldn't have been able to run the truck again smart guy. you can even hear the guys in the background saying it was a nitrous "poppin". And you dont use oil to cool a turbo, oil lubricates the bearings. Those turbo chargers are lab testes to withstand waaaaaaay more revs and heat than that truck could possibly EVER throw at it. Youre saying that the "blades chipped off" and went into the cylinder? WTF,
slingblade1991 9 months ago
@fightingisfortheweak You obviously have not idea WHAT THE FUCK you are talking about.
slingblade1991 9 months ago
And how would the blades chip off and make it into a combustion chamber?? hmm, lets see if a fin on the exhaust wheel of the turbo broke, it would go straight out the exhaust,so it couldnt get inside the engine that way. the only way a peice of a blade could make it inside the engine would mean it would have to be on the compressor side, or "cold side", now how the hell would the compressor side have gotten hot enough to break a blade apart???
slingblade1991 9 months ago
@slingblade1991 you are such a moron. i am strictly insulting you just because you think you know it all and have to shit on me because i dont know EVERY DETAIL AS YOU DO. SORRRYYY wise guy, gfys. jeez.
fightingisfortheweak 9 months ago
@slingblade1991 and fyi oil DOES cool the turbo. smartass.
fightingisfortheweak 9 months ago
@fightingisfortheweak COOLANT cools the turbo, smartass. Oil libricates it. That truck more than likely uses a ball bearing turbo which requires oil AND coolant, unlike a journal bearing turbo which only requires oil.
slingblade1991 8 months ago
@fightingisfortheweak COOLANT cools the turbo, smartass. Oil lubricates it. That truck more than likely uses a ball bearing turbo which requires oil AND coolant, unlike a journal bearing turbo which only requires oil.
slingblade1991 8 months ago
@slingblade1991 hmm all turbocharged vehicles ive owned were not coolant cooled, only oil. and your basing your info now on a hunch about the cooling, so basically your last comment has no credibility.
fightingisfortheweak 8 months ago
@fightingisfortheweak Duramax engines use ball bearing turbos which require coolant.
slingblade1991 8 months ago
@fightingisfortheweak The function of oil is not to cool the turbo, rather, it is used to lubricate it
slingblade1991 8 months ago
@slingblade1991 oil is used to cool the turbo and lubricate it. your both right. look up a turbo. look at the build and design of the oiling system. i mean why would they run oil in the turbo just to lubricate it when they could lubricate it and cool it down? believe it or not oil in the bottom of your engine lubricates and cools. by lubricating moving parts it cools it because there is less friction. lol your both right.
ghettosmirnoff 8 months ago
@fightingisfortheweak thanks for not insulting while trying to educate, because ive never owned a turbo diesel. so thanks for the info

well letts see where to begin on these comments, id have to say water/meth injectin is the saffest way to go. yes ford motor company owns almost half of cummins stocks, duramax is isuzu, powerstroke is navastar, i hate to say this, but as much as i dislike fords, i think a ford with a cummins with an alison tranny would be the greatest thing ever, i do think cummins is sumwhat over rated but a bulletproof engine none the less

@sethhaa At one time ford owned 10% of cummins shares but sold to make a good profit and this happened years ago.
ACDCPSP 1 year ago
@mopower08 both of you are not completly wrong and not totaly right. the duramax is an Isuzu design. GM did own 49 percent Isuzu. Cummins owns a third of Dodge. Ford tryed to buy Cummins and they said no being the largest builder in the Americas
phillip7507 1 year ago
@mopower08 Actually, Duramax engines were designed by Isuzu, but they're built by a joint venture between GM and Isuzu... definitely not its own company, though.

TREYinGLAMIS 1 year ago
@TREYinGLAMIS Are you also a dumbass??? Duramax is the name of the engine as is Powerstroke. the Duramax is made in Moraine, Ohio but is an Isuzu designed engine. Up until the 6.7 powerstroke, International produced the Powerstroke for Ford but now Ford makes its own diesel. Duramax and Powerstroke are not company names but model designations. You sir are the also a dipshit.

HATERADExrs800 1 year ago
@TREYinGLAMIS oh and as far as the dmax is concerned.....designed by isuzu and produced at a GM plant in moraine, ohio. c'mon man this is grade school stuff. any moderate diesel fan knows this shit. your word of the day is "research". clearly google is not your friend! you sir have now proved to the world that you are the fool.
