Wathing it again (my cousins had this movie on tape and they gave it to me when I was nine), it makes me cry now, because everything I try to do ends up going wrong and everyone is mad at me. So I can relate :(

@MrJewguy They aren't in the same chronology. They weren't meant to fit together. That's why Princess Celestia, Luna, and Equestria were established in FiM.

Hasbro lost their licences to most of the pony names during the 80's and therefore mashed-up a lot of the older ponies with newer ponies to create a hybrid; it's one of the reasons why FiM is popular. The series blends old and new, sophisticated with slapstick, and gives a fresh and entertaining new take on the series.

It's ANIME KAWAII DESU. What does that mean? It's Japan animation styled. Overly large eyes, etc. From what I've also seen on the few clips, it also seems to be less original like MLP was and more... well.. modern cartoons with gag characters and actions. Sure it's nice but.
