@youmethem11111 Hi--I think that that is ample filtration for a 40 gallon. I think that the live rock that you'll have will also be beneficial.

How loud are your filters? Suitable for a bedroom?

@mitch5655 Hi--I'm running (2) 110's and they are not bad as far as noise. My protein skimmer drowns out the filters with bubbling noise. I used to have a 55 gal. with (1) 110 in my bedroom when I was in school and I was fine with it. If someone will be sleeping in there, I guess you may want to gauge how heavy a sleeper they are.... In my opinion, so long as there's no obstruction in the impeller, it should be relatively quiet. Hope this helps.

i was looking at getting the submariner uv sterilizer.... how has it worked out for you is it worth it or do you suggest not getting it but something else....... i have a 125 sw tank

Its a 48in All Glass Triple Flourescent. I have 2 Daylight bulbs and 1 Actinic Blue bulb. It has done surprisingly well.

how long did it take for the back of your aquarium to be covered with coraline algae

I can't really remember.... I want to say about a year. It really "took off" when I added a lot of live rock with the algae.

im having trouble with the coralife protein skimmer 65g keeps making micro bubbles in tank i tried everything

I get that problem too every now and then. I added filter floss to the bottom of the return basket and stacked the sponge that came with the skimmer on top of the floss. This cut back on my excessive bubble problems. I've also had luck reducing bubbles by adjusting the height of the return basket up or down.

Aggression has been low to low-medium, thankfully. If I could gauge their stress from their eating habits and behavior, I'd say its in the same low to low-medium range. I think in another 6 months to a year I will be donating the lemon peels back to my lfs--if I don't have another tank by then.
