I have this, and the specs are just fine to work with Windows 7 Pro. It does take a minute to respond after going to desktop, but that's only because I have a lot of programs in my startup routine. That's what happens when you use it for work...
@AlkinSlice The upgrade took me under 2 hours and I have never disassembled a laptop before although I was familiar with many of the parts inside. There is a video guide on Youtube for the installation as well as a written guide for the Acer Aspire 5532 laptop which is the same thing but sold under the Acer name, with minor differences in colors of some wires and a few plastic components.
There is no need for a CPU upgrade just install ubuntu 9.10 and backport the wifi driver and it works better than Windows 7 could ever dream of working I will post a video soon of my Ubuntu E627!!
