There is absolutely nothing wrong with Pit Bulls, it's the god damned owners that make them that way. And dogs don't lash out randomly, someone had to have done something to piss the dog off to make it attack out of no where.
My aunt had two pit bulls a female and male. The male was a bit aggressive to strangers on the other side of the fence, but if it was someone he knew he didn't show a sign of aggression. The female was a complete sweet heart, I actually wish I could've kept her for myself when my aunt moved. I really miss her, it's because of dogs like those that I actually WANT a pit bull. To prove to people that they are NOT violent beasts. I was bit by a CHOW CHOW when I was three, almost died from it!
Been a shelter volunteer for a few years now, I have exercised and socialized all different aged pit bulls and none have bitten me nor acted aggressively toward me, even while playing tug of war. Half of them had never seen me before until I went to take them out and they were still loving, thats a fact. A pit bulls desire is to please the owner. If they're raised to fight, they will, if not, they wont, THESE ARE FACTS and those who argue are stupid!
I have grown up with pit bulls when I was a child my eldest sister bread them. Speaking for experience I have never met a more kinda and gentle breed. It come's down to the same as any other dog,the right owner and it it severely saddens me that this beautiful breed of dog is now banned where I live!

Pits don't have "lock jaw" they are just really fucking strong. Have you ever tried to pull a Doberman off another dog or person? I had a Labrador that attacked me and now I have a giant scar on my arm, and he was my dog! I'm not sketched out by Labs now. I never met a Blue Healer that wasn't a complete asshole, but don't hold prejudice.
this isn't even a problem. Its nature. You have humans and other animals living in the same place, of course there is going to be attacks. This isn't a perfect world. If this was a "problem" the only way to fix it would be to either remove humans or animals entirely. Stop complaining about the way the world works.
It is a human problem, so sad people would do that to dogs. My brother has 2 pit bulls and I just love them. They are the most lovable dogs I ever seen and I like playing with them everyday. Everyone just falls in love with them when they visit.
It took a long time for me to get over my fear of pitbulls. i am not around dogs in general. I use to have to walk through a neighborhood with a lot of them. Everyone with a Pitbull has a huge responsibility. They, not the non pitbull owners will decide the fate of this breed.

Human problem or a medical problem. My grandpas neighbor had one of the sweetest dogs ever. Then one day he got really agressive and so the owners took it to the vet and it turns out that the dog had a stroke that changed his personality. I'm wondering if strokes is a genetic problem and that's why some of them go crazy. If it's true it's definatly not the dogs fault it's a medial problem
Pitbulls are some of the most loving, smartest, caring, loyal, and sweetest dogs in the WORLD. I don't give a fuck what anyone says. It is not their fault it is their piece of shit "owners" that FORCE these poor innocent dogs to attack and fight. They start "training" and making them fight when they are only little puppies. Where should I start, as Pit Bulls are dogs that get influenced by humans, they are aggresive dogs after they get that taste of blood, and they have lock jaw, which isn't a good breed of dog to have around the public for our safety and our dogs. My dog was almost killed by a neighbor's Pit Bull who broke out of the house with his other Pit Bull friend and constantly got out. That dog also bit me and I now have horrible scars on my hands. I am just glad my dog is okay. Pit Bulls aren't good pets
Pitbulls do NOT have locking jaws, there is no scientific proof of that, it's impossible.
If they had locking jaws they would be a completely different species. No dog has locking jaws. Please start researching your facts before you start stating things that are not true.

If you were mugged or assaulted by a racial minority, would you then believe that all members of that group are violent criminals? It's the same type of thinking you are demonstrating here. While some breeds or dogs may bite and hold on (such as a bulldog), there is nothing that acts like a "locking mechanism" in the pit bull's jaw. The sources of your "information" are fear propaganda, nothing more.
@PrettySailorSoldier I never said all Pit Bulls are bad, becasue trust me, I have met some pretty amazing Pits. But from going through the experience that I have, I do not agree with most of the information a lot of youtube users have said on this. People say its a human problem, not a dog problem, but this specific pit bull had wonderful owners, and I had played with him many times since he was a puppy. My dog and I did nothing to instigate the attack, he just went balistic all of a sudden.
@Tmobol95 My pit bull is a wonderful pet, because I provide her with love and affection, mental and physical stimulation, appropriate training & she is obedient. I volunteer as a child mentor. The child I work with was 5 yrs old (7 now) when she met Xena. This little girl could literally poke Xena in the eye, pull her ear or tail, pinch or even punch her, and Xena would not hurt her. She is aware when someone is a baby or young child (whether human or animal), & thus is very gentle.

The Pit Bull that attacked my dog and I was a neighbor's dog, whom I had known and played with since he was a puppy. He went crazy and there was no stopping it. @Tmobol95 I wonder what your definition of a "wonderful" dog owner is. I am sure your friends are wonderful people, but those are 2 different things. I am sure their pit bull showed signs of aggression before it bit you. It could have been just growling, or being possessive of toys of food, but that should never be tolerated. Unless it is a medical issue, dogs do not just attack without warning.

Some breeds even have different signals (I find some dogs vocalize, other are silent but show it in their body language). Also, where did these people get their pit bull? From a pet shop (likely came from a puppy mill)? From a reputable breeder? Poor breeding can affect temperament.

Sure all dogs are capable of doing bad, but Science and rates agree that Pit Bulls are definitely known for killing and being beastly. They are the dog with the most number of attacks on ANYTHING. Pit Bulls are aggressive and its in their blood. Definitely the breed.
@Tmobol95 And did they properly socialize the dog from a young age? Exposing it to lots of different situations, people of all types & ages, & other dogs? Was the dog neutered or spayed? There are a multitude of factors here.
@Tmobol95 That is so silly! ALL dogs have the instinct to hunt & kill. Dogs eat meat. Feral dogs or their "cousins" wolves will kill to eat. Human also have the instinct to hunt & kill because we are omnivores. This instinct is different from what you are describing though. To attack and kill one's own pack member (whether dog, wolf, or human) without provocation is a threat to the entire pack's survival, as well as an anti-social behaviour. Completely unnatural in ANY breed of dog.

@Tmobol95 Most of those "statistics" are highly unreliable. They do not track breed populations. If there is a higher population of Pit Bulls than other dog breeds, then they will have higher total number of bites. The only way you could claim that one breed is more dangerous than another is if you knew the population of each breed of dog & then calculated what percentage of that population attacked. Only if one breed is overrepresentated would you have a point. Simple math.

I take my pitbull/bulldog mix everywhere I go. A lot of places are afraid of my dog and won't hand him a treat, so I reassure them and they tend to give in and give it to my dog. Every where I go people are shocked to see me with my pitbull and also comment that he is a very well behaved dog. At the dump this girl was afraid of him and I brought her up to my car and said he won't bite just pet him. She over came her fear and loves my dog now. But you have to spend a lot of time with these dogs.
I have a pitbull and he is my everything and he loves everyone that shows him love and if you are afraid of pits and you cum over he usually jumps up on you an gives you a big wet kiss. In all reality if they banned pitbulls they would just go to the next breed and the next after that and try to eliminate all dogs. Its rediculous! It's disgusting to see those dogs abused and starved. I have two American Pit Bulls and they are big baby's. I have to say they are the best dogs I've ever had, very intelligant and loving. I used to be very cautious about Pit Bulls until my sister got two, and now I have their puppies. Humans are the ones who must judge themselves. It is still a bad owner = a bad dog as we see bad as being. No short cuts to a good dog if you know what I mean.

If the dog does not get a way to expend his pent up energy he will devise his own way of doing it. Altering can produce fear aggression too. The poor dog has no idea why he is the way he is. Building a good foundation early in life being with stable minded dogs, and humans helps dog to see humans, and dogs as potential play partners
animal cruelty is awful... who in the right mind would seek enjoyment out of antagonize dogs, hurting them etc? you look at the pictures of the dogs that have been abused and then ones that have havent.. so many big differences. i think it pet stores should make it harder for people to get pets. do a background check etc to make sure stuff like that doesnt happen. also make a liscense to breed dogs/cats so people cat just give them away to any stranger - there are alot of bad people in the world

I am the proud "mama" of 3 beautiful pitties. I honestly could not imagine my home without them. I live in a fairly rural part of the South and so many of these images are commonplace around here. I just wish everyone could/would take the time to see the beauty of the breed....and neuter the "owners" who don't have a brain in their head and inflict this type of abuse on these wonderful creatures.
hey, i am one of those people who was totally against pits, because of where im from, and what they are known for in the south, that is until i met my gf, she has 2 full blooded pits and a pit cross, and those 3 dogs, well not so much the female pit cross, she's a bit crazy lol, are the most well trained and well behaved and friendly dogs i have ever encountered. i absolutely love the hell outta all 3 of those dogs, they are phenomenal, and i agree, ban the owners, not the breed

Ok, a couple of weeks ago, I am out walking my lil Jack Russell, and this huge ass Pit comes running up to me, he wanted to play with my dog! I was so terrified because of all the negative things I have seen, I picked my dog up and the P.B. was trying to jump up to get to my puppy, and pulled my sweat pants down with his giant jaws. I told him no, he wagged his tail and took off back home. I am not convinced he was going to attack, he simply wanted to play. I'm not affraid anymore.

A Golden Retreiver can be trained to be just as aggressive as a Pit Bull trained for dog fights, in my opinion. With every tragic story about a little kid whose been attacked by a pit bull, comes more hatred for the breed. What ever happened to hearing both sides of the story before passing judgement?

My aunt had two pit bulls a female and male. The male was a bit aggressive to strangers on the other side of the fence, but if it was someone he knew he didn't show a sign of aggression. The female was a complete sweet heart, I actually wish I could've kept her for myself when my aunt moved. I really miss her, it's because of dogs like those that I actually WANT a pit bull. To prove to people that they are NOT violent beasts. I was bit by a CHOW CHOW when I was three, almost died from it!

Been a shelter volunteer for a few years now, I have exercised and socialized all different aged pit bulls and none have bitten me nor acted aggressively toward me, even while playing tug of war. Half of them had never seen me before until I went to take them out and they were still loving, thats a fact. A pit bulls desire is to please the owner. If they're raised to fight, they will, if not, they wont, THESE ARE FACTS and those who argue are stupid!

Did go for a few people in the street when taking it out for a walk. only went for the people that invaded its personal space. (strangers) almost every dog will get uncomfortable in situations like this.

Human problem or a medical problem. My grandpas neighbor had one of the sweetest dogs ever. Then one day he got really agressive and so the owners took it to the vet and it turns out that the dog had a stroke that changed his personality. I'm wondering if strokes is a genetic problem and that's why some of them go crazy. If it's true it's definatly not the dogs fault it's a medial problem

Where should I start, as Pit Bulls are dogs that get influenced by humans, they are aggresive dogs after they get that taste of blood, and they have lock jaw, which isn't a good breed of dog to have around the public for our safety and our dogs. My dog was almost killed by a neighbor's Pit Bull who broke out of the house with his other Pit Bull friend and constantly got out. That dog also bit me and I now have horrible scars on my hands. I am just glad my dog is okay. Pit Bulls aren't good pets

But from going through the experience that I have, I do not agree with most of the information a lot of youtube users have said on this. People say its a human problem, not a dog problem, but this specific pit bull had wonderful owners, and I had played with him many times since he was a puppy. The child I work with was 5 yrs old (7 now) when she met Xena. This little girl could literally poke Xena in the eye, pull her ear or tail, pinch or even punch her, and Xena would not hurt her. She is aware when someone is a baby or young child (whether human or animal), & thus is very gentle.

I am sure their pit bull showed signs of aggression before it bit you. It could have been just growling, or being possessive of toys of food, but that should never be tolerated. Some breeds even have different signals (I find some dogs vocalize, other are silent but show it in their body language). Also, where did these people get their pit bull? From a pet shop (likely came from a puppy mill)? From a reputable breeder? Poor breeding can affect temperament.

Human also have the instinct to hunt & kill because we are omnivores. This instinct is different from what you are describing though. To attack and kill one's own pack member (whether dog, wolf, or human) without provocation is a threat to the entire pack's survival, as well as an anti-social behaviour. If there is a higher population of Pit Bulls than other dog breeds, then they will have higher total number of bites. The only way you could claim that one breed is more dangerous than another is if you knew the population of each breed of dog & then calculated what percentage of that population attacked. Only if one breed is overrepresentated would you have a point. Simple math.

I take my pitbull/bulldog mix everywhere I go. A lot of places are afraid of my dog and won't hand him a treat, so I reassure them and they tend to give in and give it to my dog. Every where I go people are shocked to see me with my pitbull and also comment that he is a very well behaved dog. At the dump this girl was afraid of him and I brought her up to my car and said he won't bite just pet him. She over came her fear and loves my dog now. But you have to spend a lot of time with these dogs.

It's disgusting to see those dogs abused and starved. I have two American Pit Bulls and they are big baby's. I have to say they are the best dogs I've ever had, very intelligant and loving. I used to be very cautious about Pit Bulls until my sister got two, and now I have their puppies. If the dog does not get a way to expend his pent up energy he will devise his own way of doing it. Altering can produce fear aggression too. The poor dog has no idea why he is the way he is. Ok, a couple of weeks ago, I am out walking my lil Jack Russell, and this huge ass Pit comes running up to me, he wanted to play with my dog! I was so terrified because of all the negative things I have seen, I picked my dog up and the P.B. was trying to jump up to get to my puppy, and pulled my sweat pants down with his giant jaws. I told him no, he wagged his tail and took off back home. I am not convinced he was going to attack, he simply wanted to play. I'm not affraid anymore.

A Golden Retreiver can be trained to be just as aggressive as a Pit Bull trained for dog fights, in my opinion. With every tragic story about a little kid whose been attacked by a pit bull, comes more hatred for the breed. What ever happened to hearing both sides of the story before passing judgement?

My girlfriend and i own a pitbull,and we have never seen a more loving sweet natured dog!!People are the monsters not the pits.I wish every human who has ever fought a pit or thought about fighting a pit could be put in a ring and forced to fight to the death.or used as bait to strengthen another....Help save the pitbulls..no one else will as they see them as monsters i bet the people who view them this way have NEVER been around one. so shut up!!!Untill you know something

I just want to say thank you! As a pit bull owner and breeder for the past 5 years I'm discusted at the way some monsters treat these innocent animals. I have never had a bite or a fight in my 5 years of breeding, and my dogs are proof that when trained, pit bulls are just big babies! Thank you for your support, and let's keep fighting to save these amazing dogs!

I just want to say that I appreciate people like you. I spend numerous hours writing to different people to fight BSL's and hear alot of people voice their concerns about the rampant virus called BSL. write to congressmen,councel people, majors and governors to prevent BSL's. Come on. Lets fight for these dogs. They cannot do it alone.

great vid!! my 3 y/o pit protected my 8 month old daughter, pits aren't born to fight, they're taught to fight. i taught my pit bulls that love is the best weapon, and they have never bitten anything or anyone other than their food and toys.

i volunteer w/ an animal shelter, we go to pet's mart every sat. & of all the pits we have & that come not 1 has ever been aggressive. but, get this, a collie shepherd mix we have lunged at a pit puppy that was walking by, piked it up off the ground by its nose, that pup was screaming. now why would we trust collies & shepherds & not big baby pits?

When I worked at PetCo, I watched a Dalmatian lunge in the face of a little girl, missing her only by virtue of the leash. I'll take my stable APBTs, thanks. Its nice knowing that if a child comes streaking up to my dog and hugs her neck, the worst she might do is look pathetic.
